Compact Brass and Horns Virtual Instrument for included Kontakt Player or Kontakt (full version) with 50+ Instruments and Onboard Effects - macOS/Windows Standalone, AAX Native, VST2, VST3

Packed will over 50 solo instruments from the full Chris Hein Horns, plus six synth brass patches, Chris Hein Horns Compact provides your virtual instrument collection with the brass infusion you've been looking for. While Chris Hein Horns Compact may be a more streamlined edition of this acclaimed sample library, it still provides you with many of the tools Sweetwater composers love about the original, including hot keys and intelligent legato and vibrato. You'll also find six wonderful DSP effects onboard, including a convolution reverb with 21 settings to provide your music with the proper atmosphere. And since Chris Hein Horns Compact is powered by the Native Instruments Kontakt Player engine, it works with nearly any modern plug-in host out there.

It did not work for me

By Charles B. from Orlando, FL

The sound its not as they advertise at all, and it did not work well with Cubase 11 Pro. It's very buggy! I'm very disappointed it's like throwing $ dollars to the toilet! It's just installed on the PC but never used.

Chris Hein Horns Compact

By Davidu B. from Los Angeles and Aspen
Music Background: rock and roll bands and music production

I basically was ruined last year when I saw Tower of Power in an intimate theatre and 2 more times after that so I was doubtful when I went on my search for a horn library to match that kind of ensemble mastery and oh my - I was so impressed by the realism. I had brass patches from other libraries but they were orchestral and cinematic and nowhere close -

Just Okay

By Jason

I'm going to keep this short, it's okay but not great. Most of the sounds are pretty convincing in the lower registers, but when you start getting into the higher registers of the instrument the timbre starts to sound really bad and when you combine sounds in the higher registers it sounds like a cheesy keyboard horn. If you (like me) aren't going to use horns a lot this is a decent product and I've found that by doubling the higher parts an octave lower and blending the lower octave in with the higher one you can make the overall sound much more convincing because you hear the timbre of the lower octave but still hear the note from the higher one but if you're going to use horns a lot and need totally convincing horns this is not the product you want. Don't get me wrong, it's great for what it is (a low cost decent horn library) but it has its limitations.
