Just Needs Some Reinforcement

By Dale A.

The idea, is good. Unfortunately, it's a little on the flimsy side, regarding the swivel joint. HOWEVER - there is hope!
What I did, was to wrap a strong, elastic band, around the joint, several times. It restricts some of the range of motion, when folded, but it really gives it a sturdy feel!

Fairly, Sturdy, Build

By Dale A. from Hyannis, Cape Cod, MA7

On, first, use - I'm impressed with the stability of this product; however, I think it should have a slightly, larger, footprint. Or maybe, slightly, lower center of gravity. I'm hoping it has the sturdiness to work on the Floyd Rose nut installation.

Tips over easy. Snaps closed. Flimsy.

I have one. I hate it. More work than it's worth.

A portable and light maintenance/string changing headstand.

By Corbin G.
Music Background: About 2-3 year guitarist primarily, however I like to experiment.

Compared to other headrests that I tried to find in this price range, this is the best deal so far. I question the longevity, as it's primarily made of plastic. It does seem to be of a pretty good plastic though, but my primary concern is the joint which all the legs fold. However, I like the rubber grips on the feet and neck rest, keeps your guitar in place nicely. I also like the height, perfect for string changes. And I also like the portability, it's a nice size to stuff in my tool kit. I think this might primarily be for string changes and light general maintenance, especially for on the go as well... basically saying you don't wanna elbow it like your in WWE. For heavy duty maintenance and care, I think it would be better to get a more expensive/sturdier headrest.

Broke on first use

By ptk from fort myers, FL

Good idea, and worked well for the first three strings, then broke. It didn't just pop apart, a small tab broke making it useless. Finished the last three strings using the box my magnifying glasses came in and that worked perfectly. I guess cats know their stuff.

Works but Overpriced

By John
Music Background: Been in bands for 45 years

It's well designed but light as a feather, not a great deal of material to make one.
It would have been 5 stars if it cost about $3.50.

Very useful. Worth it!

By Ben from Snellville, GA

This little gadget has made guitar maintenance so much easier for me. Changing strings is so much easier. This is probably the best $10 I've spent on a guitar accessory. Every guitarist should have one of these.

Very Useful Gadget

By Sweetwater Customer from Fort Wayne
Music Background: Hobbyist

I was skeptical about this one, but I did not want to spend forty bucks for the pad and stand combo, so I gave it a try. It works great. It is very light weight, and folds out fast. It tholds the guitar nicely, and the rubber padding is good enough not to scratch nitro finishes. It can be a little rickety though, especially when winding strings, but not to the point of collapsing. Overall it was worth ten dollars, and I recommend it.

Note to Sweetwater - why the heck is this listed in "guitar stands", and not with the other guitar care products? it's one and only purpose is to hold the headstock while working on a guitar. Just saying.
