Keeley Halo Andy Timmons Dual Echo Pedal - Andy Apple Red Reviews

This is an amazing echo pedal. It does what I've been doing for years, only better. I play a wet/dry/wet amp setup and had been using a Line 6 DL4 (dotted eighth and quarter notes) feeding separately into two Fender Ultimate Chorus wet amps with chorus and reverb for galloping modulated echos. The Halo does all the heavy lifting for me. Now I have retired those hinky solid state Fender Ultimate Chorus amps, and use tube amps for the echo returns. The sound is awesome & I've got pedalboard space left over for something else. Well worth the price of admission.

I have to admit that I do not know how to dial in a delay pedal. With this thing I just plug it in and use one of the eight presets. I hook up an expression pedal. When its back, there is no delay and when my solo comes I rock it forward and get an amazing sound. I may even be able to leave my modulation at home if I need a bare bones pedalboard. Preset #1, B side has you covered. It's so pretty sounding. This thing is amazing.

WoW! from the first chord, I was hooked on this pedal. It really is the foundation for Andy Timmons' sound. It even makes ME sound great! The presets have been all I've needed so far - maybe a minor tweak here and there, depending on the song. This pedal does not disappoint. If possible, do play this pedal in STEREO - it has a really wide, moving sound.

I had read a review that this thing was killer right out of the box, so I looked at a couple of videos online with Andy Timmons demoing and took the leap. It's not cheap, but boy is it killer right out of the box. The presets are all great the way they are, but you can customize this thing anyway you like. Andy's signature Halo along with dotted 1/8ths, 1'4 notes, reverb, and even a Boston type Rockman sound are here plus more. Best delay I've used, totally worth the cost.

I have tried a few different delay pedals, and just had trouble finding a nice sound. I have tried quite a few, then came across this one. You have 4 factory settings, and when you plug it into a 9V power supply, just hold both foot switches down and you're in trails mode. It seems user friendly and I haven't really gone out of the 4 factory presets, each one having A & B settings! Andy's Halo sound has a really nice sound. Having purchased it less than a month ago, it's just what I was looking for!!! Thanks Sweetwater and Thank You Kevin Samuels, you guys are the best!!!

This Andy Apple Red Halo Pedal is a game changer! Right out of the box when hooked up in stereo will blow your mind! It makes a guitarist more creative and you will enjoy the new Angelic Stereo Sound you will get with this pedal on your pedal board. Whether it's a quarter note or dotted eighth note delay you are looking for it does it with amazing tape delay! You can save your own settings if the Andy Timmons sound isn't your cup of tea. It will become your go to pedal for digital delays. LOVE IT! WORTH THE MONEY!

Still playing around with this but a few days in and I'm really enjoying the results. Actually the factory settings are very good. "Andy's" preset is worth the price alone!

This pedal's tone makes it easy to sound like I'm a much better player than I really am.
Andy Timmons said on "That Pedal Show" that everyone would now have his "secret" of sounding so good.
It's not just the two delays working together, but the addition of the modulation and EQ, plus the parallel dry path.

This pedal really inspires me to play more.
The factory presets, maybe with minor tweaks, are all I have needed to use thus far.
I use the Helix Floor for my main rig, and even though I have a preset to emulate Andy's delay, there is still something special about the pedal. Therefore, is permanently attached to one of the stereo effect loops. I don't use it for everything, but when I need it, it's the only pedal that will do.
If possible, I highly suggest running stereo to get the full effect.

Yep the hype is real….the flexibility is crazy. Im probably using a fraction of what it can do, but I do use is perfect. Buy this pedal.

This pedal has alot of features and fortunately comes with a user guide to help you find useful settings. Really like the sound quality.

I absolutely love this pedal. Andy's signature setting is pure heaven. Is it a double delay or a sweet verb machine... it's both.

Probably the best delay I ever used. Stunning is a good word. Much better than the Flashback II. You just don't see written instructions anymore but there they were and it's programmable to !

This pedal is amazing. So many different tones. This was a game changer for my playing and chasing the tone. This is worth every penny and will make my playing even more fun.

I really like this delay, it is the first time I have just plugged in and have instant beautiful sounds. I am sure there is a lot to discover in this unit but the stock sounds are so good it might be years before I decide to explore them. I was fortunate enough to attend a show in Texas where mr Keeley and mr Timmons were there to demo and discuss the effects. That was some amazing insight from two extremely kind and talented individuals. I am extremely happy with this purchase and the Sweetwater color is the best.

After a year of playing with my Helix effects board, I still struggled to find THAT sound. This peddle delivered it right out of the box. I haven't scratched the surface of what this peddle has to offer. You will not be disappointed.

The presets alone make this pedal worth the buy, but it offers so much flexibility and just adds space to your guitar in the most beautiful way.

Definitely run it in stereo if you can!

The Halo presets are ALL you need. Just plug and play. It sounds like it perfectly mixes itself into the band or backing track. It took my pedal board and tones to the ultimate level! Thanks Andy & Keeley! Thank you Sweetwater for the awesome "Andy-Apple" red! Get one. You won't be sorry!

I'm a very simple guy when it comes to peddle boards. A little overdrive, chorus, delay. That's all you really need. The rest comes from you. But when I watched Tim Pierce do a review of this peddle, my ears perked up like a dog. I've always wanted a sound like the A/1 preset. In fact I haven't really gotten into the other presets yet. I'm running this in stereo thru 2 Blues Jr's and it's insane. I'm playing longer and playing things that I haven't played in years. It's inspiring. I'm glad I got this and highly recommend adding it to your collection. And if you're on the fence about the cost, take the leap. You won't be disappointed.

Wow, a-lot packaged in a compact pedal. This has an easier learning curve than most complex delay pedals. Andy's huge sound, but not over the top is basically the best description for this delay, with realistic presets. I was worried about going digital but I'm very happy with this purchase. Well done!

This thing is amazing. Right out of the box you'll get a huge dual delay sounds that make your simple leads sound amazing. Hands down the best delay pedal ever made. It does so much with a tiny footprint. This was my best pedal purchase I ever made. Get one, you'll be amazed as well.

I'm just scratching the surface of this pedal, but even the factory presets sound great once you adjust the wet/dry mix to your liking. Given Sweetwater's generous return policy there's no reason not to give this pedal a try. And as usual, Patrick, my Sweetwater Rep was amazing and responsive.

I suppose after getting the opportunity to share a stage with Andy (and Jennifer Batten) at a benefit concert in NorCal a few years ago, it was a certainty that I'd be using this sweet delay pedal.

Does everything you'd expect from a high-end DD, with crystal-clear signal and a noise floor that's too deep to find. Where this pedal really shines is when you use both channels of the processors and let one side modulate the others - lots of possibilities! You can go off in the weeds pretty easily - but thankfully there are 8 presets that you can use as starting points - and can always get back to the factory settings of it goes south!

i've been trying to get this "Halo" sound for years.. thx for putting a name to it... i've switched out 2 digital delays on two seperate rigs with the Halo. a great great delay pedal.

Easy programming and EIGHT preset positions ( looking at you Strymon) skipping the Halo effect, just having the ability to store different delay times on a pedal this size makes this so useful. You can even store presets with just your feet.

Ordered from Sweetwater who always gets right to shipping using excellent carrier Fed Ex to match their excellent staff, video's, and products. Still dialing in a good sound with this pedal. Will be a while before I get the perfect sound I'm searching for. Some settings I like already. Wished I could have ordered it on sale but happy with product.

I typically have relied on post-production ambience, consider myself a mostly rhythm guitarist (occasional soloing) and in the past have used echo pedals sparingly. The Halo fits me better than any other I have tried for that purpose! As a 'spice' it easily sits nice in the foreground and can be easily programmed to be heavy when I need it. The modulated echo is rich, but not overbearing. It has ample headroom, which is important to me at the end of my pedal board signal chain.

With the dual engine, I can even get very close to the tone of my vintage DOD R-880 Dual Analog Delay!

I can also see it work for folks who prominently define their style with ambience and tweaking. I like it better than Strymons and other expensive echos that I have tried. They sound just as good, but this seemed more intuitive and compact.

I could see this working for any instrument or vocal as well.

This is the best pedal delay I've ever used, with the exception of the BigSky (which is hard to beat). But even then, what this pedal does... it does soooo well. As others have said, the Halo has a rich vibe. The delays staying out of the way (ducking) on transients, and billowing out in the spaces in-between. There is no other pedal in this size or price range that sounds delicious.

In the studio I have three primary amp/cab/effects chains: an Axe-FX III, an FM9, a desktop chain of pedals. The Halo is THE delay in that third setup. Its selection of delays easily cover 95% of my needs for that chain, so I have no plans to add another delay or swap it for a different one. It is amazing for guitar solos, and crazy huge for big chords... and jaw-dropping on clean/slightly overdriven sounds. It's hands-down the best regular-sized delay delay pedal, in my opinion.

If you've wanted a big delay in a small package, this is the ticket. If you need MIDI – and that really would make this pedal even more perfect, but it would also jack up the price – and deep programmability, there are certainly others delay pedals out there. But if you're looking for a simpler -=[[studio-quality]]=- delay with stereo analog tape vibes and lovely huge stereo imaging, look no further.

I was strongly considering a couple other pedals. But then I listened to about 10 seconds of one last random YouTube review of the Halo... and that was it. The deal was sealed. There's nothing else that sounds this gorgeous in this size at this price.

Man, that Andy Apple Red is a GREAT color. The Halo's original charcoal finish is quite handsome, but that shade of red ROCKS. Most importantly, however, you get the same outstanding pedal either way. A MUST have in any color!

This pedal is so well designed , so sonically rich, and so easy to use ( and personalize ), it blows my mind.
Mr. Keeley & Mr. Timmons & crew have created a true studio quality tone tool that instantly bonds with your guitar/pedalboard/amp.
It's also the perfect form factor/size. It's obvious they worked 3 years on this. I am beyond impressed,
and I'm 68 and have played just about every delay/echo pedal out there for decades.

The Halo Dual Echo is my favourite delay pedal of all I have ever played. I've had it for a little while and I do not need any other delay pedals so my other will now be sold. It sounds fantastic.

It does almost everything you want plus some special things that are difficult to achieve (especially with one pedal). I love the saturation control and the Timmons echo sound is killer.

The presets and preset usage is still confusing and kind of annoying to me but I haven't really spent the time to learn the feature either.

First of all the unit sounds great once you jump through the hoops. Directions of use are very vague and don't give all the info needed. For something with this much technology crammed in, the how-to should be much more informative. Everything is crammed into too small a space to really get a complete understanding of it. I've contacted Keeley with my concerns. Good luck.
