Line 6 HX One Guitar Multi-effects Floor Processor
Line 6 HX One Guitar Multi-effects Floor Processor Reviews
Boasting 250+ stunning effects emulations, the HX One merges Line 6’s world-renowned HX technology with the workflow and form factor of a traditional stompbox. This stereo multi-effects floor processor offers a superbly straightforward approach similar to a standard guitar pedal, with one effect available at a time to keep things simple and efficient onstage and in the studio. A high-visibility OLED screen and tactile controls deliver an inviting and easy-to-navigate feel, from dialing one of your 128 onboard presets to adjusting the HX One’s adjustable impedance and buffer settings. You also get an extensive I/O section and versatile control options, including two 8-pin MIDI In/Out-Thru ports, USB-C for the HX One Librarian app, footswitch/expression jack capabilities, and a Flux/Tap switch to access tap tempo and automatic parameter shifts. No matter what type of rig you’re running, the Line 6 HX One’s vast effects library and easy operation unlock a whole new realm of sonic possibilities.
Me likey
Was looking for an analog delay/reverb pedal for my pedal board into a Marshall dsl40cr, found a few for about the same price as the HX-1, i figured yeah its digital but thats alot of different sounds for the money, even if just one effect can be run at a time, it does have some modes which are basically a reverb and delay in one effect but i must say this lil think sounds phenomenal in my opinion. Lots and lots of parameters to dial in with which are fairly easy to understand what they do and how to manipulate their various features. Only thing i dont like is one effect at a time but its so good i ALMOST considered getting two, but naaaah, its definitely a great sounding unit with tons of easy to use features. A Bluetooth connection to a phone to edit the parameters would be AMAZING.
Pretty darn cool..
I'm old, so it took me awhile to learn it..but now that I have, it's permanently on my pedal board..Great effects And as always, shout out to my guy, Matt Lubick..great sales guy for years now!
Love this thing!
Just going through it and the best part...doesn't take a rocket scientist to use. Easy to figure out with minimal reading. The quick start guide thing gets you almost everything you need. Sounds good and flexible and easy to read the display (helpful for this old fart, ha). Built solid and just a good all'round multi-effects pedal with great in/out options. Also easy to update firmware.
HX awesome
Sweetwater engineers are awesome! The variety of effects is staggering and most importantly they sound fantastic. I knew I would love the reverbs, delays, and modulation but I think the distortions and fuzz's are also excellent sounding. I have only ran it in stereo through two Friedman IR series preamps... sound was nothing short of stellar
Amazing for One Effect at a Tim!
Does exactly what it describes and works so amazingly well with my set-up in tandem with Quilter Aviator Cub amp. Liked it so much, I exchanged for the HX Effects unit instead, so that I can use 6-9 effects at time.
HX One not great for live applications
The HX One will not save in an off or bypassed state. Also it does not transmit MIDI clock data.
For me this makes it unusable for live use. Trying to contact Line 6 has also been a nightmare.
In a studio application it might be fine but on stage I don't have time to be tap dancing around turning stuff on and off while changing presets. After owning and using the HX Stomp this was a complete disappointment.
Swiss Army knife
This pedal is great at saving space on a pedalboard. I have read were people complain about one effect at a time, I think that is where the beauty of this pedal is. If you need a chorus pedal, phaser, vibe, whatever, it's there and it sounds great. Out of all my pedals, this is the easiest one to use midi with. I have two boards, and I have one of these on each.
The one to rule them all
So the HX One is astonishing. Presently I'm running my peterson strobo > Hx One > Morley Fuzz Wah > POD Express. With this set up I have just today used the "Pitch Wham" to replace Digitech Whammy, the "Scream 808" to replace my Ibanes TS 808 Tube Screamer and the "Obsidian 7000" to replace the Darkglass B7K Ultra. Same settings as the real pedal and I can't tell the difference. Thats kinda nuts. The Line 6 EX1 makes the pitch shift work and that cost only $. These are just what I used this morning. Between the HX One and POD Express honestly I don't know if I'll everybuy another pedal. I have been playing Daft Punk, Megadeth, The Misfits and The Muse with this set up and I am in love because no matter what mood I'm in I can play what I want to play quickly with minimal set up. The only other pedal I will be buying would honestly just be another of these since its cheaper than both the Darkglass and the Digitech Whammy but sounds the same with a smaller foot print. What is not to love? Honestly if your reading this buy it you will thank me.

I've never used Helix or Line 6 before. This pedal sounds great. And it's perfect for what I need, which is a utility pedal for my board. I'm still figuring out all my options, but I'm liking it for my purpose. I might even get another.
Unbearable Hiss with Distortion Pedals
I really wanted to like this thing. It looked like an amazing utility pedal. Unfortunately, when any distortion pedal is placed in the loop or after the HX One, there's a loud, unbearable hiss when the distortion pedal and HX One are on at the same time (or if HX One is off but in buffered bypass). This isn't the hum of gain or 60 cycles, this is white noise. This makes the pedal unusable for me.
Nice pedal but no software
I was under the impression when I bought this that it had a software editor where I could edit the presets and then save/upload them to the pedal but this DOES NOT have that kind of software interface so if you are like me and want that convenience, this is not the pedal for you.
A great sounding pedal!
This thing is like a baby Helix. It sounds really good! Only downside is you can't combine any of the effects. But all around it's a great sounding pedal with plenty of different effects built in! I'd recommend it!
Great sounds!
The longer I have my new HX ONE the more great sounds I'm discovering!
So cool
This was my first time using any of the Helix line of products and I'm totally blown away. I was looking for a Swiss Army knife type pedal and this fills that perfectly. The drives sound awesome and there's really no limit on what you can create with the modulation and time based effects. I've spent a few hours with it and barely tapped into all that it can do. It's pretty simple to work. I mostly play at home so this is a great tool to experiment with different sounds but you could easily incorporate this into a gigging rig.
I A/B tested this against the EQD Plumes as that's one of the drives they recreated and it's pretty spot on. Overall this pedal has so much it can do and I think Line 6 really delivered with this one.
Helix One
Great with Helix Stomp XL and 8 string non octave Bass.
HX ONE is a great effects pedal.
Love line 6 effects, I have the helix and stomp xl, And now hx one, just a great pedal to have on your pedalboard.
Major bugs and oversights make me wish I had waited...
Like Everyone else says, swiss army knife of sounds
The one single effect is great! All the cool sounds are there with updates coming down to add more new effects. Robust unit and plenty ins and outs to run in stereo or 4 cable method. The flux control is really cool to use to spark your creativity.
Only spent a few days with it but will get more and more use out of it. If you are looking for a DM4 Pro like the Edge has, this can easily fit the bill.
Analog man checks out the new wacky digital pedal
Great Swiss Army Pedal
I sold a chorus pedal that cost as much as this one pedal. It's nice to have more than just chorus pedal in one pedal.
The added noise gate is a great plus. Over all really easy to use and save presets.
The only knock I have is wishing it had a "pog", if it's there I've yet to find it.
Other than that, all the drives, delays, mod and other effects sound amazing!
