Very cool monitors, exposes noise from my MacBook unfortunately
These heavy monitors look and sound great. I bought some foam isolation pads to prevent the sound from resonating through my desk. Unfortunately, even though I'm using TRS inputs from my Focusrite Scarlett, I can't crank these all the way to their maximum--setting the Level control to +4Db exposes a 60 cycle hum from my M2 MacBook Air. The power brick that came with my computer isn't grounded. Nothing I can do about that. I've read that external monitors can cause this hum, and I'll play with my connection to it soon, but until then I'll leave the Level set halfway between +4Db and -10Db so it's as loud as I can get it with overwhelming noise from my MacBook.
The Yamaha Philosophy To My Ears.
I could have purchased A much noted Kali brand which I know are incredibly accurate. Yet I chose these to compliment My Yamaha 88 synth. I wanted to percieve the Yamaha Philosophy through my signal chain. I am quite happy with the results. Much clarity on the lower keys which is something I had issues with other Bradfield I've used. Just tells me how open, honest, and accurate these Monitors are, and yes the highest key on the keyboard sounds like A pin drop at A low volume. Yamaha. It's A philosophy.
