Schecter Hellraiser C-7 - Gloss White Reviews

7-string Solidbody Electric Guitar with Mahogany Body, 3-pc Mahogany Neck, Rosewood Fingerboard, Strings-thru-body Tail, and 2 EMG Active Humbucking Pickups - Gloss White

With the Schecter Hellraiser C-7 solidbody 7-string electric guitar, you get options. Put up a wall of sound with huge, thick chords; launch runs that start really low; play bass lines; discover new chord voicings — the possibilities are endless. With its 3-piece neck, string-through-body construction, locking tuners, and tappable EMG active humbuckers, this axe is built for hard-core front-line duty. The Hellraiser C-7 doesn't feel like a 6-string with an extra string — it's an amazingly playable instrument unto itself. Considering a 7-string? Check out the Schecter Hellraiser C-7.

Very satisfied

I have been researching and looking to buy a seven string guitar for almost two years now. After a long and and extensive search, I finally made up my mind. It had come down to either the Hellraiser c7 or the Reaper by Schecter,.....
I went with the hellraiser. I could not be happier with the decision I made. If you are looking into buying or purchasing a 7-string guitar you cannot go wrong with the schecter's Hellraiser c7. Do yourself a favor and don't hesitate anymore and purchase this guitar. this guitar is in the top five dream guitars on my list of badass,"have" to have guitars,...and I finally have one. Thanks to my sales engineer (Tony Greer) and the whole Sweetwater team for making this purchase an excellent experience I'm a loyal and devoted Sweetwater customer for life thank you.

Awesome

I love the active pick ups using my pod go sounds better than my passive pick ups on most of the effects. The cleans are incredible with soo many options with the push pull voicing. The distortion tones i can not 100% say i love or hate. I only have a single 12" amp at the moment that it does sound great on at low volume and with the 7 string it seems to need a minimum of 2x12 to get the full capability of this guitar. My old valvestate combo amp just doesn't have the low end either so with the right amp im sure i will love the low end distorted side also. Great action also, lowest action out of all my guitars and love the thin c neck. The glossy back doesn't seem to bother me as much as it does some players.

Amazing Guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on July 5, 2020

I've had this guitar for a year now and played an endless amount of gigs with it. the tone is amazing. the 2 ways witch is nice. its not that heavy as you would think. the cleans on this guitar are insanely good. The only downside is you cant tune low. after about Drop A it starts getting muddy.

Raising total hell with this thing!

I got this 2nd hand but I loved this guitar! it felt really good! the EMGs are really good for the distortion tones, and I LOVE the 2x Vol knobs! The TOM bridge and gloss neck is the only thing that irritated me. But for the price it is pretty nice!

c-7 Hellraiser, the all rounder, and pretty to look at too!!

By Richard Pribbernow from Pensacola FLorida, USA on May 20, 2013 Music Background: played guitar since 1979,

Looks are impecable, the fit and finish are superb. SOUND : The EMGs are LOUD and POWERFUL. I have to turn down the volume on the guitar so I dont overpower my amp set up. The clarity is nice and there are many tones available. The volume knob by the bridge pickup is a bit close for my taste but if youre used to a Strat its fine. Locking tuners perform flawlessly and this guitar stays in tune. When the climate changes the tuning all strings change nearly evenly. A well built adn good sounding guitar, equally happy in the heavy metal, rock, and even jazz genre. Its a great all rounder, and pretty too!!! This guitar is number 30 in my collection

Excellent

The Hellraiser C-7 is an excellent guitar. It is solidly built, the pickups sound great and the tuners are very good. The only issues I've had are minor (replacing tone knobs and toggle switch cover because they had fallen off). But it really is a great playing guitar and great sounding for rock and metal. Highly recommended - probably one of the better guitars under $1000.

Amazing guitar

By Jonathan Broadway from Midlothian, Va on September 19, 2012

Bought this as my first 7 string and my first guitar from Sweetwater. Couldn't be happier with my purchase. The guitar was set up, played, and sounded amazing. The pickups sound great clean and distorted. No mushy/muddy tone. Great definition and clarity. Smooth playing neck and locking tuners keep everything in tune. Awsome guitar. Awsome experience buying from Sweetwater. Highly recommend to all!

Lovin' it!

Finally, the feel and tone I've been after! I played a Schecter Omen 7 with DiMarzio Deactivators that I bought used a few years ago (my first 7 string) and bought this Hellraiser as an upgrade. After shopping numerous models from Schecter, ESP, and Ibanez over the past year, I settled on this one, and could not be happier. I don't typically gush about the aesthetics of my toys, but this guitar is a thing of beauty. I put on some strap locks, plugged it into my rig (Orange Rockerverb 50 and Orange Dual Terror heads into a Mesa Recto 4x12 and Carvin 2x12), and fired it up. The first thing I noticed was a giant improvement in the low end clarity. I play mostly rhythm in my current band, and had never been able to get the mud out of the sound. Not any more! From drop Ab power chords to single note runs, it sounds alive at every range, and puts fire in my riffs. Harmonics and feedback are total ear candy. The feel of the neck is perfect, and the access to the upper range frets is sweet. This is my first guitar with active pickups, and from the sound of them, there's no going back. The switching and separate coil taps make for great tonal versatility. The fretwork and overall quality are high end. I'm very happy to have gotten such great value for the price. As always, my sales rep Ryan Murray did a top notch job on the delivery.
