12 Sets of 1.25" 3M Dual Lock Adhesive Coins for Guitar Pedals

When you really want to take your pedalboard to the next level, consider replacing your stock hook-and-loop tape for something more substantial, like these 3M Dual Lock pedal adhesives from the Pedaltrain Hook Loop Love collection. 3M Dual Lock uses interlocking stems of rigid plastic to lock pedals to your board with absolutely no shifting, pivoting, or peeling in transit. At 1.25 inches each, Pedaltrain's specially sized HLL 3M Dual Lock Coins give you flexibility in pedal adherence — from the tiniest mini ODs to your double-wide digital monsters, Pedaltrain Dual Lock works with virtually all pedals on your board. Strong adhesive on each Dual Lock coin provides a semi-permanent hold on both sides of material.

Pairs GREAT with 3M Dual Lock SJ3560!!!

By Sam H. from North Carolina
Music Background: 30 years of drums and bass

I haven't had any issues with this product. However, I don't use it "as-is." Instead, I pair it with another type of tape -- 3M Dual Lock SJ3560.

I have a PedalTrain Metro 16. I put 2-inch strips of clear 3M SJ3560 covering the entire board. Yes, this might not be a popular approach but it works for me.

I apply the little black dots on the bottom of my pedals. Two dots for micro and Boss sized pedals -- more dots for bigger pedals. Try to hit the edges/corners. Not covering the whole thing, just enough to provide good anchors.

The black paired with the white has a FIRM hold, but can be removed with enough force/prying. The black dots have never separated from any pedal I have attached them to. The key is put it on a flat metal or plastic surface. No tape or stickers. Definitely no rubber like on Boss pedals (unless you turn the bottom plate inside-out for a flat metal surface).

WORKS GREAT!

I have tried using the dots as-is... didn't work quite as well. I can understand the complaints from other users. You wouldn't expect to need a separate product to make this one work. I somehow stumbled across my solution above while experimenting with different products. Now, it is the only velcro method that I use for all my pedals/boards.

I hope you have similar or better mileage!

You have to correctly apply the technology!

By John L.
Music Background: I’m currently building two medium-sized board with several Dingus 1/4” interconnects to enable, in part, to carry just one board with minimal effects— while enabling connections to the other board for significantly more effects when so desired and the add

Do NOT use to mate to Velcro as one described in another review: Dual lock is not compatible with the Velcro hook and loop system: Dual Lock incorporates little mushrooms that lock upon the apposing side of mushrooms when the two sides are mated, ie, pushed together from pedal to board — that will result in a snapping sound. The package of twelve will thus serve (only) three pedals: After mating two coins (with film covers on) - then remove film on one of the mated coins; then applying that side of mated pair to each corner of the pedal; then remove the film-covering from the exposed, mated coins and; then position on the board "exactly" where you want it (might best to mark boundaries with removable painters tape as you can't reposition the adhesion after applying). Let the adhesion set for 10~20 minutes, especially if using on a battery that will be hanging under the board (again paired coins on each corner — not one pair in center of the battery!). Issues with Dual Lock: (1) May be better to apply dotes to each corner of pedal and apply a (a bit longer) strip of dual lock on the board to enable very minor positioning (tape strip for cutting also available for purchase). (2) Dual Lock will not retain its locking ability if the pedal is repeatedly removed and reapplied (I no longer too often repair a certain brand of solderless cables): if to often repeat pedal repositioning, then use industrial velcro. (3) Velcro will better allow some repositioning on the board (though I used small strips of Dual Lock on the board to allow very infrequent, minor repositioning) (4) Use 250 count to mate against each other (check the 3M site to determine why) — this is the count provided in this package. (5) Mated "strips" that approach 1.5 inches require [way way too] much strength to remove - don't do it (though, I'll probably use 1.25" x 1" strip to better secure a quite heavy T-Rex Replicator in consideration of transporting, and also heavy power supply; eg, the Mondo. (6) The four pairs of 1.25" coins may be too much for small petals— yet applying just two may allow wobble (I'm considering applying EZpass 1.5"x 0.5" strips on each of the farthest ends of my smaller pedal. … To end this verbosity: Quite a good point about Dual Lock is that it will pose much more difficulty upon a possible attempt to steal a prized pedal. … The 1.25" circles have more surface area than 1" squares I've past used. I highly recommend this product given above considerations!

Terrible Product

By Chris N. from Pasadena, CA

I bought a pack of these and they are completely useless. I used to of the coins to fasten my (very lightweight) Strymon Ojai power supply to the underside of my pedalboard. It is constantly falling off onto the floor. They slightest tap to the pedalboard and battery pack falls off. I just don't understand why so many recommend these and claim that once something is fastened with these it is tough to unfasten. That just makes me laugh. They should stop selling these now. Avoid!

worthless....

By marc l. from Southaven, MS

these are just terrible... i know... big velcro stinks to have on your pedal... but this "smaller" option doesn't work... the pedals sort of "rock" back and forth and they easily become dislodged from the velcro.. not to mention the fact that these little things are EXPENSIVE! I made the mistake of buying two packs... avoid this one folks!
