This bass is the very best bass I've played and I have many great instruments including Pedulla and American Fenders. This is my first experience with Lakland, and I'm impressed with the superior build quality and amazingly rich tones. It is so easy to play and it came with a superior setup. The tone range is so versatile, and with rich deep tones I haven't found anywhere else in a bass. I would highly recommend this bass to anyone looking for a high quality short scale. It's a little on the heavy side, which I don't have a problem with.

I've always loved Lakland basses, but I have a hard time playing long scale due to some minor left-hand damage. So when I saw they put out a solid-body short scale with a jazz bass look, I jumped on and pre-ordered it. My first time playing it was for a church recording. It sounded so smooth and growly and just thumped with clarity. I see no reason to change the stock pickups. They are perfectly balanced while sitting on your body. My only complaint is that it is heavier than expected. It runs right around 10 pounds. Lakland does not supply a case, which is disappointing due to the price point. The neck is smooth with a smaller radius than all my other basses. Transitions between strings are done with ease. Plus, look at it! Traditional look with a tort pickguard? This yells class! If they make one another color, I'd buy another one. This bass is not leaving my arsenal.
