All the frequencies are there
Flat, clean sound. Just what is needed for monitoring. The ear cups are comfortable and you can wear these for long periods without discomfort. I did not know if I would like the ActiveGard feature so I turned it off to see if there was a difference. There was nothing noticeable at any safe volume. I turned them up pretty loud without any noticable drop off in sound (with ActiveGard on). I would recommend these for studio work. Maybe not mastering the finest of details but that is all subjective. You can use these for both monitoring and mixing with no issues.
Not Bad
So the Good things first, Sound quality out of the box, really good. Not as good as my Kali monitors, but good. First time wearing them, quit comfortable. Cord is a bit short, which could come in handy depending on your setup, for me kinda not long enough. The cable itself is rather thin. I like a good solid cable so I know the product will last a long time and I have my doubts about this one. The on/off switch for the ActiveGard(tm) Limiter is stupid, flat out. the compartment it is supposed to be in is really really hard to open and you basically need a pry bar to make that happen. I stopped trying out of fear of braking it in the process. These things are not cheap, build quality is a bit low in my opinion considering the price, not overall bad, but I doubt they will hold up to much abuse. I have ordered different headphones in the past and they have alway come with a nice case or pouch to store them in, but not these. When you open the box you get the headphones. That's it. It's just one of the attention to detail things that shows a company cares about you as a costumer. Overall, your money might be better spent elsewhere. They will get the job done, but if I would do it again I would probably choose something else. I may do a follow up review after I use them a bit.
