Impressed
I originally bought these because my HD 280 we're falling apart and needed an emergency pair
Saw the price and thought I'd stick with sennheiser
We'll upon first comparison I hated em. They top end is not bright enough and the bottom end felt a lil boxy so I hung these up and keep using the 280's for mixing. And used the 200's for just listening and working out. We'll after burning them in for a little I was referencing a mix that I know has a nice bottom end in the 280's and it didn't sound right. I plugged in the 200's and to my surprise all the bottom end frequencies were there!!! And because I had used them for some time the top end sounded like it was there
I have since benched the 280's and am extremely happy with the 200's colorful sound. They feel good are comfortable and have a lighter cable and am in love
These are a steal. My mixes on these seem equal to if not better than on my 280's. By all means the 280's were my best friend for 7 years but THESE BOYS RIGHT HERE!!! These are my new go to pair.
Great Headphones
They work great every bit of music is crisp and clear and that's what I like because I'm a Drummer and like a good sounding headphone and this one has got it. It's COOL MAN
You get what you get in this price range
So to start of, I have been using the HD 200 Pro for over 10 months now and I am impressed with the details that it provides especially the hidden ones I have never heard of before. For a budget pair, I think that this is pretty impressive. However, while it still has a flat response, I noticed that they lack a little bit on the high end response and can be distorted at high volumes. But I would still recommend this and it's still a good budget pair if you want to get started with studio monitoring and mixing and as well as a great pair to have with you as backup. So yeah, that's pretty much it and I recommend this to people who want to get started with Sennheiser's products.
Good headphones & customer service from Sweetwater
These were purchase for a digital piano for a recreational player, not for professional needs. They sound clear, are light, fit very nicely over ears, and don't leak sound. Great purchase for the price and my needs. Also adding a note the shopping experience with Sweetwater was very positive. Purchase arrived very quickly and there was a customer service check for this new customer.
Nice headphones
These are very comfortable over ear phones with very good sound fidelity and a real bargain considering what a lot of fashion phones are selling for nowadays. Sennheiser has been creating quality products for quite a while and these phones continue that process.
Headphones
Good for my purposes
Closed back studio phones.
I was after light with mostly flat response. These phones are good on both counts.
Nice feel...
Great replacement to my Bose headphones
Worked better than expected
For the price I didn't expect quite as much performance. But I was pleasantly surprised
Just Right
I had been looking for a good set of headphones for a long time, did not want to spend a lot of money. The HD 200 PRO is priced right and has excellent sound. Plus, they are comfortable! I use them with my PSR-S970.
Sennheiser HD 200 Pro Closed Back Monitoring Headphones
Very Nice Full Quality Sound Headphones. I Ordered Them Because I Needed A Good Pair Of Headphones.
Awesome!
These headphones are such a good buy! Im hearing things that I've missed through other headphones. My AKGs suddenly died and these are a great replacement. The bass in these is exceptional also.
Monitoring Headphones
My husband loves the quality of the headphones and the styling of it. The sound is amazing. Would totally recommend these headphones.
Great product!
Very satisfied with my product arrived on time good packaging!
A Good Buy For The Money
I find that almost nothing ever "blows me away" so I didn't give these headphones a 5 star rating. I don't mean that they are bad in any way. They sound great and are very comfortable. They seem very sturdy so far. I prefer that the cable would be longer and "beefier". I have seen most of the padding on the other headphones I've owned, begin to flake over a short time. I'll have to wait and see what happens with these since I've only used them for less than a week, although I do trust that these are a step up in quality from the last pair I bought. I have always trusted Sennheiser products. I have owned 3 of the e835 microphones for over a year now and have been extremely happy with them. If the HD 200 PRO headphones perform like the mics then I WILL BE blown away. I feel the headphones are probably a good buy for the price I paid. So I will say I am happy with this buy.
Great Bass !
My daughter the "DJ" just loves the big sound of these affordable headphones.
Accesible
Great product, just atound the corner!!
Headphones
It's a very good headphone but the feel of it sound cheap
Sennheiser HD200 pro headphones
While I'm not BLOWN AWAY by these headphones, they are certainly a good product. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time; which is needful for my job. They have good coverage for the ears which helps to eliminate outside noises while listening. Their frequency response is good, I am please with these headphones and would consider buying them again when I need another set of headphones.
Pro Headphones
good quality, but it's a weird fit on the ears, I didnt think my ears were that big.
Okay For The Money!
These headphones are at best okay. The sound quality is somewhat muffled in comparison to my Sony MDR-7506's but as a 2nd backup pair, they'll do. Overall they seem well made with the exception of the very thin and cheap feeling card.
Not Bad
The sound quality is decent. I just feel that the cable could be more heavy duty. The ear cups work pretty well. For the price I paid they are not bad. I miss my AKG 88 I wore out after years of use they still worked but, the plastic head piece came apart. The last two pair of Sennheiser I had I destroyed with just casual use. I really miss one pair I had with really long heavier duty cable. I had a more expensive Sennheiser pair after those which I wound up breaking somehow. They had a really short cable also. I like the sound quality of Sennheiser from the 1980s. I may go back to AKGs again in the future, if I get a good deal.
Sennheiser HD 200 PRO
The Sennheiser HD 200 PRO should leave off the Pro... this is not a Pro headset it's only a low priced basic listening headset with good low end. It has an increased low end response but the clarity is not there for the mids and highs... in fact some of the highs are not there at all. As for a basic studio set for and artist to monitor themselves while they preform or record it does the job well and the lack of high end response makes it easy to use for hours without ear fatigue. NOT a mixing headset but as a extra set to have around the studio or use while watching TV it does the job well and I recommend them for that and give it 4 stars. As far ad good low priced sets go if the KRK KNS6400 with its clear mid and highs and comfort had the Sennheiser HD200's low end, or vis versa, it would be the greatest $... head set on the market.
Extreme measures were taken
I bought these as day-to-day use headphones at my PC. The bass response was so atrocious on them that I had to find and use an equalizer for windows audio just to high pass over the buzzy low frequencies. Understand what that means - the bass response was so bad that I had to teach Windows how to process audio. These are extreme measures to save $... over the HD 280 Pro's.
These are maybe good for tracking or cue, but nothing critical, or for entertainment.
Very disappointed
I bought these headphones because my Sony's stopped working after 15 years. I used them to record vocals. So I needed a replacement immediately. Got a pair delivered, plugged them in and they sounded "boxy" with a limited bass response. They also had a cracling sound in response to any increase of bass or volume. I returned then that same day and got a replacement the next.( they were defective) but even after I got the replacement I was still dissatisfied with the sound quality
I have earbuds that have a much better frequency and volume response. I expected more from Sennheiser, even for their affordable line of headphones.
Get the 280's
These headphones feel cheap and the sound that comes out isn't the greatest. Don't use these for your clients who are recording either. I've noticed a decent amount of headphone bleed. Go ahead and get the 280's they won't disappoint.
Just get the HD280s
I got these thinking if they were close enough in quality to my beloved and well-used HD280s, I could shave… off the price, especially as I am looking to eventually invest in several for studio use. They're not necessarily a bad headphone, but sonically they sound noticeably duller/muddier than the 280s. The intended "loads of low-end punch" combined with scooped-sounding mids results in an overall sound that is boomier and less exciting than cans with more articulate midrange, IMHO. If I handed these to an electric guitar player who had dialed in a bright, edgy, aggressive tone and they were to monitor through these headphones, they would likely think I was butchering their tone. For casual listening this may not be a bad choice, and I certainly understand that you're not going to find a flat or super accurate headphone for this price, but for situations where a scooped or bassy sound may not be desirable, these are probably not the ones to go with. I found the earpads of my 280s to be slightly more comfortable, though these aren't bad. By consumer headphone standards these are probably not a bad choice for their price, but the next headphones I get for studio use will definitely be the 280s.
Good for general listening but not for critical listening.
I happened to come across one of Sennheiser's budget line products and I thought that it should be great, considering it's a high end brand. First impression was that the HD 200 Pro's have the same sound signature as the free Samsung earphones I got for my phone, which made me wonder, is it meant to sound like this? Speaking of the sound quality, the bass ends up muddying and muffling the mids, feels too much and so the treble in effect, is lacking and not detailed. My Sony MDR-7506's are far better as they have a more accurate sound signature especially with a more balanced bass response and the mids and highs sound so much BETTER. The HD 200 Pro's can be used as a secondary pair to check a recording and I would still recommend it for that purpose. But overall, I think I would recommend the Sony MDR-7506 more.
Not great...
I bought these headphones for mixing purposes, because reading the description and other reviews made these headphones seem like a good pair to get the job done. Unfortunately I was disappointed, the "punchy low-end frequencies" were hardly punchy, if audible at all, and the overall sound quality wasn't too good. But then again they are listed at a low price, so I guess I wasn't expecting much.
Not good
I have a couple pairs of headphones and you get what you pay for on these ones. They sound like $50 Walmart headphones and everything comes out distorted if you were to mix with these on and then play your mix through high end speakers your mix will sound garbage because your headphones didn"t catch many things. I would recommend just saving up and buying some srh440"s or something more quality then these . Like I said you get what you pay for
