I picked these up after needing to replace a few cymbals, and for the same price of other brands 3-piece cymbal pakcs, you get and INSANE 10 cymbals. I'll admit that I've definitely heard better cymbals, but I've also heard FAR WORSE cymbals. At this price point, these cymbals actually sound pretty darn good. Not to mention all of the stuff in the pack I wouldn't normally buy otherwise (the 14" china, the 16" trash crash, and 8" bell). This pack really allows for a lot of experimentation and learning to know what to look out for down the line. Highly recommend!

After college, I sold off everything I had. So glad Sweetwater advertised this deal. After three kids and setting down, I talked my wife in allowing me to get the "kids into drumming" The Hi-hats and ride aren't my favorite, the bell is a little much in the ping tone but overall for what it is, it's a great deal. The trash is my favorite and the crashes sound great for what they are. If you are expecting high end sound you'll come close but is it worth the extra 1-2k? If you are like me, I just like to have fun. Yes get ready to spend money on hardware, you need it to house it all.

Honestly everything about this cymbals pack is awesome. Fair price for starters. Packages arrive fast without damages, and best of all the attention to details by Sweetwater, inside the box came a catalog inside bubble wrapping. The great quality of the cymbals is undeniable, they are strong and don't feel light in the hand so you know you can strike them confidently knowing that they are going to last.

I haven't played in over 20 years so, I hadn't realized how much the price of good cymbals were going to cost. I purchased these because I wanted a large selection for the price. I have a friend who is a professional drummer and he played on them and actually liked them. This is an excellent set of cymbals for the money. I plan to upgrade eventually to perhaps the byzance series but, these will allow me to hold off on the upgrade for quite awhile.

I'm a hobby drummer trying to get back into an acoustic set. This pack was a great way to fill out my kit with a lot of sound options while keeping it very affordable. Great sound and finish. Well packaged and shipped quickly. Definitely your best bang for your buck in a starter kit, in my opinion.

I have Sabian cymbals and purchased these for a new kit. I got them for the price, I'm keeping them for the great sound!

I really do love the tones of these things when played with cool rods / hot rods / brush sticks. It's like they were made specifically with light-handed drummers in mind! I don't keep the whole set on my kit all the time, but it's nice to have the extra options. The little bell is quite fun :3

Most of these do get kinda dark and clunky if you're a hard-hitter or if you use fat sticks, so be aware of that before buying.

I had recently purchased this ultimate kit and wow!
I didn't want to spend to much, being unsure of sound and effect quality.
However I found the tones and variety of effects quite jaw dropping for the price!
I am unsure on the hi-hats tone when open but closed its very tight!
Still messing around with this kit since I don't have holders for all but 5. Definitely something worth purchasing if you're a beginner even to live performance . I'm sure higher dollar. Cymbals have different attributes but for $... and some change definitely worth it!

I was super hesitant to buy these cymbals as i am a huge fan of Sabian, having said that, i needed to get another set of Cymbals and gave these at try. i have to say i am extremely surprised just how good these actually sound. for the price point, these are fantastic cymbals. the 14 inch crash and China were the biggest surprise to me, at first i didnt expect much being smaller cymbals, but i can vouch these are great. the trash can 16 inch is probably my favorite of the set. its clear and raspy for accents. my only issue with the set is the 20 inch ride, it seems to be on the weaker side for my taste. you have to really dig in to the bell to get the "ping" sound. i use 5 A sticks so a larger size stick may help that, but i plan to buy a better ride in the near future.

All that being said i am still super happy with this setup and would recommend to anyone in the market for a cymbal pack. beginners and Pro's will like these!

NOT TOP OF THE LINE GEAR, BUT MY OLD DRUM SET NOW SPORTS MORE AND BETTER CYMBALS THAN I COULD OTHERWISE AFFORD. THEY SOUND WELL MATCHED, A LITTLE DARKER/SOFTER THAN OTHERS BUT OVERALL VERY NICE FOR THE PRICE. NOT TOO CRAZY ABOUT THE HIGH HAT TONES BUT MY KIT SOUNDS MUCH BETTER OVERALL. I bought these strictly for my rehearsal kit. I have high end cymbals I use for the stage and figured I'll get some cheaper ones for practice. I have to say, the price was a huge factor when deciding to get these. And these turned out to be great! I am amazed how much you get for the price and they sound and feel really good. If you're low on cash or just want a great deal, do yourself a favor and pick these up. And yes, you can play a gig with these. I highly recommend this set.

I am a Zildjian guy, just to get that out of the way. Having said that, I was very impressed with this cymbal set.

I needed some cymbals for a secondary home set just to practice and jam on. I decided to give in to my curiosity and sample Meinl. I couldn't justify spending $2000 on Zildjian cymbals for a home jam set that I was never going to pay out or record with again.

The first thing you notice about this Meinl cymbal set is the price. Amazing price for 9 cymbals. I unboxed them and put them on stands. I was immediately impressed with the look and solid feel of the cymbals. They weren't thin budget cymbals. After tuning my set up again I laid into the cymbals. I felt they sounded much much better than I was expecting from a "budget" set. The ride had a solid "ping." The crashes were very nice. My hi hats were great. I didn't even have enough stands to put everything on my set. This is a very heavily loaded set of cymbals. Even the trash crash impressed me. I usually hate cymbals with holes in them and shy away from them due to my heavy hitting but it sounded awesome.

Overall I'd recommend these to people looking to fill a cymbal set out for cheap. I'd recommend these to beginner to intermediate drummers looking to expand their cymbal sets. I'd recommend them to experienced drummers for stage work and practice. After having played them for a couple days I'd even recommend them for demo recording work. I won't lie, I prefer my Zildjian cymbals for recording but this set is really great. I may just have to invest in some of Meinl's higher end cymbals someday soon due to how impressed I am with these cymbals.
