Robust, solid build
First thing I noticed was the form factor of the HUAC; it's small enough to hold in one hand, but hefty. The beveled edges and smooth finish are easy on the hands while still giving you something to grip. Down to the volume knob and I/O jacks, its sturdy construction makes for reliable connections, even with consistent cable (un)plugging.
Comes with a Triad power supply (just like there one pictured) with a ~4ft power cable. The wall adapter is relatively compact, but needs the space of a block on a power strip regardless. This isn't an issue, though...most power adapters are sold separately!
Audio quality is GREAT. I'm driving a pair of BeyerDynamic DT1990's and I'm getting plenty of power through the HUAC with ample headroom. You can max out the volume of this unit without introducing any discernable distortion. Another great piece of hardware from whirlwind!
perfect solution for podcast or radio studios
If you want to distribute headphone audio in an analog, wired method, with essentially unlimited distance between units, with each person having their own volume control, AND you want to mount it under a table or console, or whatever, THIS IS THE PERFECT UNIT for you.
Took me 30 minutes to install 4 units in a radio studio, all the hardware to install was included. You'll need balanced (TRS)/stereo quarter inch cables to make this work properly. There's also a mono version, if for some reason you want such a thing. You need one unit for each station, so it may seem slightly pricey, but the quality (built like a rock) is worth every penny.

this item is being used for live performances by drummer with in ear monitors. Works well,great alternative to more expensive wireless rigs that require batteries.
