this is a great sounding preamp, compared to my other pres, api, focusrite isa, dbx tube pre and some cheap ones this preamp stands very favorably, so far I have used it on vocals and acoustic guitar with very favorable results, now this is a colored pre amp for sure and i'm sure it will work on some things better than others but if I want a pristine signal I have the apis!!!! for the money a no brainer
Excellent preamp, incredible price
I had been looking for a good Neve 1073 style preamp and a friend recommended this unit. I'm very very happy with it so far. It sounds killer on vocals—really adds weight and midrange grit to my condenser mic and Sm7b. I've also been loving it on bass via the front DI input. It's easy to overdrive the input and get some beautiful saturation. If you're looking for a high quality simple 1073 clone, this is it. Doesn't get much better than this...
Hip Hop Vocals
I am currently using this on hip hop vocals and it sounds good. I have the Rode K2>HA-73 >UAD Apollo Quad and this pre amp sounds like butter and has that vintage tone I been looking for. I use this more than my Avalon 737sp honestly.
Heritage Audio HA-73 elite preamp
I have owned this for 3 years.
I never made a review when I bought it, because
I didn't get the wow factor from it.
I recently went to use it and it is not working.
Real Neve preamps are built like tanks and meant to last for decades of reliable service.
This one didn't last.
It's out of warranty and I have to pay to fix it.
I can't recommend this product or the company
that made it.
Spend the extra money on something with a robust
warranty.
