I have never played a musical instrument in my life. I was always interested in playing the guitar but never had the confidence or commitment to try. This year I decided I wanted to "learn something new" so I decided to pick up the guitar. But where to start? I asked a friend for some advice, and he said to contact his guitar tech at Sweetwater, Kenny Plisco. So I did. To say that Kenny was helpful would be an understatement. He was curious about my intentions and motivation, and of course extremely knowledgeable. After asking me lots of thoughtful questions, he helped me purchase the Yamaha Gigmaker starter pack. I love this guitar and have been trying to play it every day. I started trying to learn using some apps but have now gotten a live instructor. I want to thank Kenny and Sweetwater (and my friend Doug for recommending them) for helping me start my guitar journey. I have only taken a few steps but feel that I am going to love the trip.

The product arrived in perfect condition. The Yamaha PAC012 was very impressive. Whoever set it up at Sweetwater did a great job. The action is low enough for ease of playability but not too low to cause any fret buzz. A pleasant surprise: the fret edges were polished down so as not to catch the skin on the fingers. The amp has two channels, clean and a dirty, and it suits my purpose to simply jam with friends in my living room. The whole package, (guitar, amp, soft gig bag, strap, etc.), as an entry level product, it's an excellent value for the money. I've talked with Patrick Cavanaugh several times. He is knowledgeable and very helpful. If anyone is looking for a product like this to purchase for a son, daughter, or grandkids, I highly recommend it.
