I like Chauvet gear overall but this feels overpriced for what you are getting. This is like a cheap quality version of mixing kintas and the original gigbar together.
I thought the derby s on this would have been bigger and they would at least used similar quality pars like the original gig bar. These pars are plastic and cheap looking and flimsy. Like everything is gonna get bent pretty easily.

I would suggest investing in two Q6 ils and 2 Mini Kinta ils, source your own bar and stand and make your own gig bar. It will be better quality at the same cost. Even if it went over, would still be a better value for money.
As always, the stands and gig bag are Definitely cheap and flimsy and wont last more than a year. I wish they would at least offer spare parts for the threads and knobs on the stands. The stand on my original gig bar didnt last that long. I own one of the original gig bars (which has 4 par cans and nothing else), 2 kintas, 6 Q6 ILS cans and some other cheaper 4 bar flower lights from Chauvet. It will still be an addition to what I already have but This has to be the most disappointing purchase I have made from Chauvet thus far.

Works nicely for an hour, and then just stops working! Has done this both times I've played out with it. I plug it in the next day and it works again. Frustrating.

This has been a main part of my dance floor lighting for several years now. It's great on it's own, or magnify the effect by using a fog machine. I've included a video showing that effect.

I recently purchased these from my amazing Sweetwater salesperson. All I can say is WOW! These have made my shows come alive! Very versatile and adjustable. You can dial in the intensity of their performance. AND the whole thing weighs in at under 15 pounds. Very, very nice carrying bag and case INCLUDED! For a small investment, I have been able to up the sizzle of my show to a level I never imagined! Once again, Sweetwater comes through with shining colors (pun intended)!

Bought these for Karaoke nights in the garage.
There are hundreds of settings, but the included foot switch and remote make finding the perfect scene incredibly easy. You'll want a fog or haze machine for them to look the best.

This thing is great. It has everything you need for a live band or dj situation. I just wish it had Bluetooth that you can control with the app. Not a deal breaker but would be great if so.

You need to get your light show started, but you're not sure where to start - here ya go. With very little knowledge about these things, I unpacked them, set them up, and used them. The included foot controller makes it great for a band, and the remote makes it great for a DJ.

This is the product for you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Comes with a sturdy dependable stand with a easy to use setup. The lights put on a great show. Love this.

This thing works amazing, The lights work great and just let the music control them and they work fantastic. The only two things they need to improve... 1- length of power cord! You put them on the light stand and hoist them up, a 3' cord is garbage, order a black 12' extension cord, you'll thank me later. 2- Power on/off switch, there isn't one and there should be. These two tweaks and this unit would be perfect.
Add some smoke and let the party start.

Great stuff.. With 0% financing for 36 months... you cannot pass it up.. My singers love it.. Cathedral ceiling at one of of my accounts, the laser fills the whole thing with colorful effects.. Plenty bright.. Bands will love it also me thinks!

First, please realize that many reviews bashing the Gigbar 2 w/ DMX are plain wrong and ignorant. This light is FULLY controllable in 23CH DMX mode. You have full separate DMX control of every section. You can control "strobe to sound" separately for all sections, i.e. the PAR, DERBY, STROBE and LASER. It's all fully controllable in 23CH mode.

I wanted to post this, because before purchasing these lights I read several reviews saying that the Gigbar 2 has to be put in 3CH DMX mode to control audio mode. This is not true.

The Gigbar 2 is also fully supported by Pioneer Rekordbox lighting over the RB-DMX1!

Finally a word of caution: If you read this review and you're considering the Gigbar MOVE, you may want to know that the MOVE is *not* fully controllable over DMX. Its moving heads can't be put in strobe-to sound. What's more, the Gigbar MOVE is *not* supported in Rekordbox as of writing this (6/9/2020).

This is an incredible lighting package that sets up in seconds. This Gig Bar 2 has everything you need for a mobile DJ. The only bad part was the foot switch that came with it. The antenna was defective and broke after only one use. Too bad it didn’t last long. Other than that I love it.

I am a EDM producer, I have 9 albums, and am getting ready to take my act on the road as a DJ. I decided that me standing there playing my songs would not be interesting for the audience and that a light show would liven things up. The lights have not been used in public yet, but wow they look great! I love all the effects, the lasers, the strobe. I love this lighting system.

Let me start off by saying excellent customer service by Sweetwater, For me, this review is not easy because I just don't do the auto mode thing at my events. Trying to DMX this fixture took forever, and I am still not too sure how I did it (trying find this info in the "manual" or on youtube videos is pretty non-existent). I like creating tasteful scenes with DMX but this fixture has limitations (one example; par lights incapable of different colors at the same time). I am not too sure if you can add an additional light to this fixture, as programming what is there was confusing enough for me and my controller.
So now that's out of the way,,, for the price this a killer system. I was especially surprised of the overall brightness and also the UVs. The stand is very robust, and the light bar is is put together well.This unit will do a typical wedding DJ well. The only "cheap" feel to the unit would be the standard Chauvet remote. This remote can do wonders with this system, however getting remote buttons to work (even close to the system) can be very frustrating.
There was a chance that I would of kept this system and ran presets on the remote,, however the remote was not dependable enough. I decided to go back to my original heavy lighting rig, so much for cutting down equipment weight in 2019 which was one of my goals.

The evolution of an idea, the sequel, is as ubiquitous of a concept as film itself in this content-driven day and age that we currently occupy, and really who should be surprised? Who among us would argue with evolution? With progress?

Dear reader, rest assured that the minds at Chauvet are not those who would do any such thing. Rather than rest on their laurels, they"ve given the push at that proverbial fork in the road. And let me assure you….they have pushed in the way that the invention of the wheel or the harnessing of fire or electricity once pushed our ancestors. By themselves evolving, they"ve pushed us to evolve along with them.

That evolution comes in the form of the Gigbar 2.

Admittedly, my years of pro-level touring have made me skeptical of many consumer-grade lighting setups in the past…the build quality, look, and overall performance of so many of these pieces of gear have always seemed to leave me wanting. And really, how could a small handful of par cans on a stand barely taller than a door frame compete with the fully immersive visual experience of being in a large concert venue with a full blown lighting array, controlled by a seasoned pro? But like Kubrick"s monolith, once the Gigbar 2 towered before me, my very existence was irrevocably changed.

And luckily, it brought my band and our clients along for the ride.

From the last performance before owning the Gigbar 2 to the first one with it, the difference was immediately palpable. After the stage was set, the ambiance in the room - once peaceful, carefree, but ultimately defined by the kind of polite indifference that leaves an objective bystander checking their phone and wondering what might be new on Netflix - was transformed into a panache-filled anticipation of what wonders the night may hold. Inhibitions were immediately loosened and all present were filled with the kind of wonderment that one could imagine was instilled in early species of humanity as they gazed at the distant horizon, or the night sky.

…and this was all before the music even began.

After we started playing, much like the butterfly emerging from it"s cocoon, the audience"s transformation was complete. In our band, we were used to polite crowds - everyone attentive and enjoying themselves, but maybe only one or two people present really cutting loose and giving into the music and experience of the night. On this particular excursion, we were received with a reaction somewhere between the unbridled joy of the citizenry of a newly liberated nation and the complete excess of a Roman orgy. People were on stage with us, singing along to every word, dancing on tables - even the elderly present were forced by that primal joy in all of us to rise to their feet and join in the party. The audience weren"t the only ones positively affected by the Gigbar 2 - as a band, we never sounded tighter. The air seemed sweeter and food tasted better after we raised that monolith of lighting evolution. The night was punctuated by an audience member tripping over our mixer and knocking it and herself right off the stage as a result - but the Gigbar 2 remained high above it all, like a beacon from a lighthouse, guiding all of us present to the shore of our innermost desires and happiness.

This night forever changed me, and everyone else in my band. Once the Pandora"s Box of the Gigbar 2 had been opened, none of us wanted to so much as appear in public without one behind us again. Benjamin Franklin once said "Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning" - dear reader, rest assured that the Gigbar 2 is the very embodiment of growth and progress, and now that it"s here, there is no turning back. Let"s all evolve together…with the Gigbar 2 lighting the path forward.

Great piece of equipment for lighting and effects. I just have to get more acclimated to it and learned how to use it now!

Being a Singer Song/Writer, I've always had an interest in being a Dj someday, and wanted to get a set of lights to just start working with on my own. Right out of the box the GigBar 2 4-1 Lighting System is easy to set up, and operate. I chose to purchase a bundle package,(more for your buck), and really started putting on a show, all my own. I put a Cd in, and had the lights beating to the music in just minutes. There's a lot of different variations that you can choose from, the Pars, Derby's, strobes, and Laser lights are awesome.
These lights could be used for a lot of different applications. For a beginner like me, I feel these work great!

It is a one rack show. I love it. We purchased 2 for a show we will be performing in a small theatre. The Gigbar 2 is worth the money. The foot controller works great and so does the remote. Just in auto mode is enough but it has all the features needed to put a huge light show together. We purchased two and as always, David at Sweetwater took care of us.

I have been practicing using it at home before I use it at a gig (live show). It's a lot of fun to learn. It's a great product that is well built and easy to put together. Carrying case is solid. It does what it says it would do. I am looking forward to using it.

I thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread, after six months it began to fall apart, components inside the lights had to be tighten numerous times, connectors broke, and the sippers on the case broke, these lights were used three times a week at a karaoke show loaded into a van, they are not road worthy, maybe OK if you set them up and leave them, the foot switch lasted two weeks.

Great for live music and fast setup.

First of all, thank you Sweetwater for Boxing the package. That added protection helps during the shipping process. I was impressed that the lights also came in a nice form fitted padded case. Out of case, the lights took little effort & time to mount onto to the stands (Great for Mobile DJ's). These lights are perfect for small to medium sized venues and fill the room nicely! I purchased a pair of these recently and have used them for birthday Parties & High School Dances. I also bought a pair of Chauvet 700 hurricane fog machines to help accentuate the laser beams and colors. Although they are not required, I highly recommend a fog machine as a must for anyone buying these lights. I have received a lot of positive feedback and nice comments, I'm glad I bought Them.

Yes these lights are pricey, BUT....individually would cost way more. I really like how Chauvet incorporated so many features into this package starting with the mounting bars. From the built-in wifi antenna, IR sensor (front &rear), input/output DMX/XLR terminals (Daisy Chain 2 or more bars), to the push button control panel for DMX & sound activated modes. I like how you can swap the derbys & pars around and use each light bar independently or tie the two together with a DMX cable in a Master/Slave configuration. No worries if you are just starting out and do not have a DMX controller (more advanced combinations) they work great daisy chained together in sound mode. The strobes, pars, derbys, and laser in sound mode are activated by bass and light in multiple sequence patterns. There is a sound sensitivity knob on the bar for that perfect adjustment. I find that using the IR remote (Master) Vs. foot controller is easier to use when starting out.

Overall, I highly recommend this package as a great Investment for any Mobile DJ or Live performer. This setup takes a lot of the guess work out and the install/breakdown time is very minimal. There are so many different light pattern combinations available if you choose a more advanced DMX path or the user friendly sound activated features. Much thought went into the construction and layout of this light bar.

great right out of the box. easy setup and user instructions. can't go wrong with this.

Case and stand are good quality. The lights work very well in auto mode using the built in mic to keep to the beat. I'm using it to light an entire school gym area, and it does fine. Eventually I think I'll want to get another one which I think can be synched to match light patterns with this one.

One dumb thing about the design is that the set screw that holds the gig bar to the stand only fits in the case if it is screwed all the way in, or removed, so you can't just take it off the stand and into the case. Not a deal breaker, but.

I bought this from another store but the item is way better then good. I brought it to every gig I had( Im a mobile DJ) and it turn the place into a legit night club. Get this with a smoke machine and it enhances the lights! You literally see each beam shooting out. You can also hook it up through DMX. Highly recommended for light show start up.

Running sound from the stage, singing, playing guitar and working my guitar pedals is enough to do without having to run a light show.

My cover band was getting by with 2 simple 4 color LED banks for each side to flood the stage, but a GigBar 2.0 on each side of the drumset brought the presentation to a whole other level. If you want an instant light show with little fuss, these are ideal. Especially if you pony up and get two of 'em! Yes, you can control them via DMX, remote or foot pedal, but the set-it-and-forget-it programs or compelling and it's easy to link the two sets together so it looks pro. Compared to what we were doing before, it looks like Pink Floyd is playing the local dive. They don't get hot (or heat up the stage) and are super light. Cases for the lights are about the size of an electric bass case and two easily fit crossways along with the stand bags in my four door sedan's back seat.

Only 4.5 stars out of 5 because I had to return one set that had a derby fixture not making red. Considering the value pricing and Chinese origin, that's not too surprising. To Sweetwater's credit... they shipped the replacement set before I even got the defective one over to FedEx to return on their dime. The Returns department was fast and courteous and my sales rep Charlie Davis was prompt and professional, as usual.

Adding to all that, the 36 month 0% financing deal made it a no regrets no brainer. I can't vouch for durability yet, but so far I'm tickle with the product. We look cooler and hot moms are dancing more at the shows. And as I recall... that's what it's all about.

What this does, it does well. If you need a plug and play solution this may fit the bill. Very good effect, good music and auto patterns. I have 4 of them now, they are used every weekend and (knock on wood) with zero down time. The complaint I have is in the DMX setup. You have three modes, but none of them are quite "right". The only mode that lets you access the built in programs is the 3 channel mode, and if you use then then you give up all control over light color. The 23 channel and 13 channel modes give you pretty good control over the lights but you cannot access any of the sound or auto programs. So, if you have time (and ability) to take total control of this light in DMX and create 100% of your patterns this might be perfect.

If you want your small band look like the top dogs you need one of these systems.I would have gave it a 5 but the foot pedal needs to be a little easier to use.If you hit the black out and should be able to hit that pedal again and should go back to the setting you had before but it doesn't. But for the money it is a great deal.

If you're looking move into a better lighting arrangement for your band, these things are the bomb! We purchased two of them and within minutes had them setup in a Master/Slave configuration. And then setup at the show is 5 minutes, tops. The auto/sound settings really do a good job.

The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that to make the most of these, you need to use some type of DMX controller. Either the included footswitch or handheld remote, or a controller board. But with a total of 23 channels per unit, it's worth it.

This was simple to put together, easy to use, all in one package. This single purchased elevated my whole DJ platform. The lights were amazing. I did a wedding, and the bride ditched all of the expensive lights they had rented and used my GigbBar to light and set the ambiance for the whole reception.

It came with a foot pedal, and a wireless remote. I will admit, that the remote seemed to provide too many controls without enough feedback as to what they were doing. I found it easier just to use the wireless foot pedal that came with it. It was 4 pedals, and after stepping through them, it was easy to understand what each pedal did. Ryan Schmidt, my salesperson recommended this, and he was spot on. Than you Ryan!

P.S. Pack up was also quick and easy. The gig bar came with a nice padded bag. I just removed the whole fixture from the stand, placed it in the bag, and I was done. The bag is now safely stored, waiting for my next gig.

The light does everything it advertises, but I didn't know that you aren't suppose to use it all the time. That was the reason I purchased it to start with. The manual doesn't say how long you can use it in a lets say 4 hour period - 45 minutes for breaks. So it kind of leaves me wondering on how much I can actually use it,each time I play.

First off, great lights, stands, packaging, wireless foot switch, IR remote control, case for lights (looks like a guitar case, form fitting foam - beautiful care to store). The "bang for your buck" with this package is outstanding: 4 strobe lights (white and UV) Derby lights (the outside set on bar) thrown lights out into area, 2 "3 LED" light fixtures in center - outstanding, Laser light on top that moves all everything adjustable. No assembly required! This was all set up, wired, ready to go out of box - only thing you do is set up on tripod stand - which is all included and has its' own carry case - wow.

The "sound active setting" is great - ultra busy. Other settings are Color (wash), auto-programs, and "Blackout" (everything off) - which can be controlled by IR remote and/or wireless footswitch.

I have connected this via DMX to my DMX light controller and this is the way i will chose to use the GigBar 2.

My rating of 4 - as opposed to 5 - is because some of the operation is "buggy" - i.e., you click on "Sound Active" setting, then click to "Color" setting or "auto-program" setting - and I can never return to the setting I want by pressing the button on IR remote or footswitch - it sometime stays stuck in one mode and I cannot return to "Color" mode. Is hard to explain until you start using.

There is a 12 volt tiny battery you must install in the footswitch. My battery came in at 9 volts - I did not realize it was supposed to be 12 volt - a new battery is like $2. I thought the wireless footswitch did not work.I called support and got another unit shipped to me. Then I saw the battery should have been 12 volt - bought new batteries - all work fine. I returned the extra unit Sweetwater sent to me - all shipping paid by Sweetwater.

It is a great, single unit set-up that does fill a room with great lights. You just need to the room to be as dark as possible - most bars I play have lights all over the walls - it is hard to "wash" color light in a bright room - it is not the fault of the lights - it is simply the amount of light that is already on in the room.

I never thought people paid so much attention to lights but since I started using my GigBar, I have had numerous customers ask me about the light. They want to know how much it cost because they are very impressed. When I tell them the price they are in awe. I run a Karaoke gig in a smaller venue and combined with a mini fog machine I light up the whole place. I love it.

Easy to set up, easy to use, plenty of light

I've had this unit for approx 2 months now and I absolutely, undoubtedly LOVE it!!! I upgraded from the Chauvet 4Bar LED Lighting System, which lasted me for several years.

The GigBar 2 allowed me to do away with my separate stand alone laser unit and my ADJ Aggressor Light. When I tell you that this one unit Lights up a huge room!!!! I also purchased a new 1000w fog machine that has actually done great as a hazer.

The only issue I've had is the the foot controller antennae has broken already. I will probably contact Chauvet about a replacement. The foot controller wasn't very responsive in the first place, nor is the handheld remote. Otherwise, I would have rated 5 Stars. I ordered a DMX controller to alleviate the control issue.

Nervous to spend the money on an "all in one" unit? Don't fear this one! Paired with a fogger this unit fills a room of small to medium size with ease. I'd buy it again and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who is doing anything that isn't an extremely huge gig. Great product!

Fantastic! I set this up in my studio & was amazed at how well it performed in all modes. Responded well with the included remote & footboard. The combinations are endless. Extremely nice package, case for the light bar & a separate case for the stand. Great price.
