My use of this adapter is a "plug&leave it" application. Never had a problem.
Cheaply Made Product
I purchased several of these a couple of months ago. We use them at work to connect laptops/i-pods/cell phones to the house sound system. They all fell apart after a couple of weeks. If the xlr jack is tight, when you pull out the converter the whole housing comes off too. The screw is too small for the hole to keep it in place. Other times it just doesn't work at all. For me it was a total waste of money.
