I needed a back rest after having back issues because of bad posture. This backrest has solved those issues. It is easy to install and seems to be very sturdy. Would definitely buy again.
Just what I needed
After only a few weeks I can sit behind my kit much longer without any back fatigue. It fit perfectly on my current throne which is the spindle type. The only problem is that my IEM wire keeps getting caught on it, something I have to work out.

I own a Gibraltar 6808 model drum throne (without a backrest) and started have lower back pain and soreness after practices so I ordered the Gibraltar Universal Backrest. It was just what I needed. After using it for a few days and getting used to it, I no longer experience any back pain or soreness after practicing. When positioned correctly to drum throne it aligns back for proper posture while playing. It was easy to assemble and attached easily to my drum throne with very little effort. I highly recommend the Gibraltar Universal Backrest. Another fantastic purchase from Sweetwater Music!

I bought this to go with the Gibraltar drum throne. It fit perfectly. If you buy the throne, do yourself a favor! Order the backrest.
Sturdy and of excellent quality !
Fit like a glove with my cork-screw style First Chair by Tama. Easy to install and pretty sturdy. I'm a tall boy and this unit works perfectly allowing more practice time with much less lower-mid back soreness. The small bit of chair lowering loss wasn't an issue.

Should have purchased this years ago
I am not sure what took me so long to buy one of these but I am sure glad I did. It was delivered quickly as usual and in was in perfect shape. Assembly was quick and easy and it fit my thrones. I was concerned if it would work on the tractor seat as well as the round seat, but it fit both no problem. It's is easy to adjust to what suits you best and is super comfortable. Well worth the money for sure.
