This case is extremely good for the traveling musician. It offers the protection during long days of travel.

I purchased this case to maintain the humidity to prevent cracking of my acoustic guitar. I live in the Northeast where the humidity is very low in the winter, especially with the heat running all the time. This case is perfect, while using the humidipacks, to maintain the humidity to at least 45%. It is also perfect for traveling. It is supper strong and TSA approved.

Mitch recommended this case for my gals new Martin D-11 Stained Glass that came with a soft case. The Gator case looks and feels bulletproof. Solid TSA latches and a beautiful interior. Great build quality and excellent protection for new or vintage instruments. i se them for storage and. transportation.

According to the specs and the fact that it is a certified fit it did not fit the new Yamaha I had ordered with it. I have inlcuded pictures that show how it does not fit this guitar and also the interior just doesn't seem right to me? Like it is molded incorrctly or it just looks updamaged. The folks at Sweetwater are being very helpful as always and I'm getting this packed back up to ship back unforatuantley. Really needed a case like this.

I've been playing guitar now for over 50 years and believe it or not this is my first Martin! Playing this guitar is like playing an electric guitar. The neck is fast and the action is low. I can reach way up to those high frets with ease just like I was playing my strat but with the beautiful full acustic sound. Right out of the box this guitar's setup was perfect. This guitar came with a soft case gig bag which was nice but I ordered a hard case for it. Anyone that wants an acustic guitar that plays and feels like an electric guitar this is the guitar for them.

I bought this guitar case for a recent trip. It went into checked baggage for a total of four flights. I arrived back home very happy. Neither case nor guitar suffered any damage whatsoever. I will confidently use it again. I highly recommend it.

As the title says it is an excellent fit for my Martin D35. It's very sturdy and surprisingly light. Excellent buy. Big thanks to my sales rep Damien for the recommendation!

The case is a little big for my concert size guitar. Not a problem because I put a couple of microfiber cloths in to take up space. My first international flight with the case saw the it take a ding to one of the feet. Fortunately the guitar was undamaged. IMHO the design must be reviewed and weak points revealed by field testing rectified in the next revision.

Pros - Can replace HSC and light duty ATA. Lightweight, compact, cheap compared to traditional flight case.

Cons - Not a custom fit and it does not replace an old school road case.

Love the Gator ATA Case. Traveled internationally with a Martin SC-13E guitar and the case worked exactly as promised. While the outside was scuffed, the guitar was in perfect condition. I also appreciate the TSA locks as the customs team did open the case on my return to the US.

Sturdy looking case and fits my Martin D41 perfectly. I gave it only four stars because of a couple of issues.

The latches operate smoothly and open very easily. The latch opens with a slight touch to the bottom and closes very easily. That feature is a plus, but it may also be a concern as the latch opens so easily with just a slight touch. Dont think it will be a real issue because the chance of bumping them all at one time is slim. Might be an issue with airplane travel, but if the case is locked, I suspect the case will remain closed.

The other issue is the plastic feet on the bottom of the case. My original Martin case had the same style feet on the bottom and in the period of a just few years the plastic quickly wore through. That issue was repaired using a short 1/4" screw with an oversize head and some JB weld. The repair has held up for 15 years. I hope this case will do better, but only time will tell. If not, I still have some of the screws and JB Weld.

Watched a buddy's Martin take an awkward dive out of the top of a loaded Tahoe onto concrete in one of these. No damage at all. For a case, can't ask for more.

Wasn't happy that our two Martin SC series guitars came in a gig bag. Looked quite a while for a proper hard case and someone pointed me to these. Very nice. At first glance we thought they were the wrong cases, but because of the shape of the SC series Martins, you insert them in the case in an odd way. They fit fine. And now we feel our guitars are safe! Decent price too!

Way too tight. Have to force the guitar in and the top of the head is rubbing. Might rough up the top over time. I'm waiting a few days before sending it back to see if it loosens up a little.

Great case for the price you can't beat it and a perfect fit for my Alvarez AD30ce. Lighter than I thought it would be which is a good thing. The TSA latches are a little overkill for my needs as the case will likely never travel but in the event I need to I know my guitar will be safe. If your buying a dreadnaught with the specs of the Alvarez Ad30ce rest assured it's a perfect fit.

First, thank you to Ryan Murphy for sorting me out with this case at a great price. Ryan's service is nothing short of outstanding!

On to the case. I bought this to accompany a Guild DS-240 that I bought as a travel guitar, as I no longer wanted to risk flying with my Gibson acoustic. If I'd only known that this case would hold up so well when flying, I may have just transferred the Gibson to this case. I don't regret buying the Guild though.

This case has endured several transatlantic flights, all with multiple layovers, being checked every time. The case has been reasonably well scratched, and some of the metal is starting to show under the black valance, but it's holding up really well. It's retained it's shape and all 3 latches work perfectly.

The Guild DS-240 fits very snugly, with more than enough support in every direction, and around the neck, leaving the headstock with no pressure. The storage pocket is slightly smaller than I'd like, but it's a small price to pay for the protection.

The only very slight negative point is that upon receiving the case, I noticed that the top molded plastic wasn't completely adhered to the polystyrene inner, leaving a bit of a "bubble", if you will. Definitely not a deal breaker, as this sort of case is about protection. I didn't buy it as a display case.

I also considered the SKB version of this, but ultimately chose this one as the reviews indicated better QC on Gator's side. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased. It does what it says on the tin.

I own a Martin OMCPA4 acoustic guitar and needed a new case for it. Since this guitar is discontinued it's hard to find an "exact fit" case for it. Gator does make one that has the exact dimensions, but it's reviews are not great because the storage area for straps, strings…etc. is too small. I spoke with my store rep and he recommended this case. My Martin is a concert style body which means it's quite a bit smaller than a dreadnought. I wasn't convinced that I'd be happy with this case for this guitar, but it actually fits the case pretty well. Side to side the guitar fits pretty snug. Top to bottom there is about an inch of play where the guitar could slide. I made a point to close the lid carry the case around trying to see if I could hear or feel it move and it seemed to be very secure. The case is slightly thicker than this Martin also, but the padding seems to hold it in place.
I searched pretty hard for a hard shelled case at an affordable price. If you have an 000 or an OM Martin I wouldn't be afraid to buy this dreadnought case. It honestly fits in it just as well and maybe even a bit better than it fit in its original Martin case that I replaced with this one.
I am overall very happy with this case and wish I would have bought it a while ago. I highly recommend getting one.

This thing is one tough case. I'm reminded of the old Samsonite commercials where the put a suitcase in the Goriila cage and he couldn't break it. Fits my Alvarez like a glove and the TSA locks are a bonus.

Case arrived quickly and seems to be very durable and well made as is the case with every Gator product I've ever bought! Latches are smooth and easy to operate. Haven't had a chance to travel on a flight with it yet but I feel confident it will handle the task and protect my travel guitar very well.

This was the only "hard case" available for the Ovation Elite (extra shallow). I would have bought any hard case they had ($200 or under). But, wow! This is a ligit "flight case". Besides being delightfully overkill for my needs, The latch takes a TSA key. Very cool. Otherwise, yeah: it's what you'd expect. Quality. Solid.

I have been replacing the original guitar cheap cases on all my guitars, with these well made and strong Gator cases, I traveled from Los Angeles to New York and these cases keep my guitars from suffering any damage to themselves . Excellent product.

My Martin gpc-16e fits nicely in it. I really like how the case has 4 little feet that allow the case be stored in the upright position without having to lean it against something. All around a beautiful case that's worth every penny in my opinion.

Got tired of playing "travel guitars" during our trips in and out of the US. They never quite measure up in terms of the sound you like. Since SW air allows two free checked bags, I decided to bring my Martin D 18 for a 2 week trip to Maine. Got this sweet Gator travel case. It was perfect. No wear and tear on either the case or the guitar. Really enjoyed playing with friends, etc with a real guitar. Thanks Gator. Solid protection at a value price!

Gator makes amazing cases. This is a perfect fit for my new Martin SC-13E acoustic guitar. The latches are enjoyable to use. I know that's a weird thing to say but the traditional case latches are terrible in comparison to these. I would highly recommend this case and the Gator brand as a whole. If you buy a guitar and a case in the same order they will ship your guitar in the new case which is great.

I have a small guitar collection. Traveling I have had the airlines break the headstock on one of my guitars before.
I was looking for a ATA quality case that could handle multiple guitar types/styles. This case will handle my 6 string acoustic guitars (Auditorium and Dreadnaught), but it will not handle my 12 string guitars (both Dreadnaught) because of the extra length of the headstock.
When I called in and spoke to Nick, he could not answer my question about the 12 string guitars. I ordered it anyway.
It is a great case. I made a 4 flight round trip with it. Though it does show handling marks on the case, the case still looks new, all the latches function as designed. My guitar came through the trip with out an issue. I feel it was a good choice. I do wish I could get one for the 12 strings though.
Side note; In Orlando a gentleman stopped us and asked about the case and where to get one. Sweetwater of course.

This case is very well made. Nice that it can stand up vertically by itself as well. Only downside is that it is heavy to carry around - probably weighs more than the guitar in it.

Although it is always fun to see that guitar logo on the case match the instrument within, there are always the collection of travel stickers that can be applied to this case. When given the choice, always choose to protect your investment with a hard case. I look forward to using this case in the longterm, and am confident in it's ability to keep my guitar playing beautifully!

The latches are cheap plastic and looks like if it gets bumped they would come open the plastic in the middle of the outside flex's when you push it. It looks good and the guitar is snug tight in the case but I would never trust it on a plane. Ok for the house but not traveling in my opinion. I did not return it but I probably should have. I hat returning items like this. It is not Sweetwaters fault I must say if I wanted the hassle I'm sure they would have taken it back but I will just use it at home. I can't recommend this case however. A good soft case would be just as good.

Sena Geyer hooked me up with this case when I bought my new Breedlove. The case he orginally recommended didn't fit the guitar, they tried it in different cases and found this one worked. He got me a good price on this case, too. It's very nice, a good plush interior, solid clasps. Fairly lightweight and it has small formed feet so that it will stand up if you want (though you can't open it when standing).

Recently I had my Gibson break in its case twice and after some extensive repairs I knew I needed a better case. A friend of mine directed me to this cause and I could not be a better fit! Super safe and secure.

Although I managed to get it on the plane for all four flights, it still got a small bit of abuse getting bounced around in the plane closets. I could hear it! But it held up well with hardly a mark on it and the guitar was fine. I felt pretty confident during the flights that it could handle a fair ampount of abuse. Its light weight really helped lugging it around the airports. The design is very handy in general at the airport - like being able to shand it up on the lower bout when waiting in crowded lines, etc. Hard to beleive you can get a lightweight sturdy case for this price. I would not want to gate check any good guitar in any case, but if push came to shove I think this case could protect your instrument from all but the worst abuse.

I bought this case for my Martin SC-13E, and am confident that even TSA could not harm the guitar in this case. I especially appreciate the large feet at the base of the body protecting the vulnerable strap pin area. I will be adding a rubberized coating to those feet to minimize the chance of it sliding and potentially causing it to fall. That is the only reason I held back a half-star on my rating. Let it air out for a couple of days before using it. It imparted a strange smell to the guitar at first.

This is a great case, it fits my Martin very well and is not too heavy. But the real reason I bought it is Minnesota winters are very dry and I needed to keep my Martin at 50% humidity. This case lets me do that

This fit my Martin GCP-13E like a glove, just as Sweetwater said it would. It is reasonably light for a shipping/airtravel case, and seems rugged. The one potential downfall I see: Gator got a little too smart: the latches open super easy. Feels great to the touch. POP! and it's open. But for a case that will get handled by airport luggage handlers that's not so good. Only one latch locks and can be forced to stay closed (TSA keyed lock). I will end up taping over the other locks if it gets checked by the airlines. They really should have put TSA locks in all 3 positions then it would have been really secure and perfect for air travel IMHO.

I was in search for a well-fitting case for my 1964 Gibson J-50 -- tried to get a genuine Gibson case, but the vintage ones are WAY too expensive, and case production doesn't seem to be a priority for Gibson at the moment. With the help of my sales engineer (thanks, Scott Augustyniak), this one came up and seemed to be perfect dimensions. When I first got it, I was actually a little concerned it was too tight. I had to push it in the first few times. After a couple weeks of use, though, it doesn't take much pressure to get my guitar in the case, and it is an absolutely perfect fit. The case feels nice and secure, and the latches seem to be of high quality. However, I have no plans of taking my Gibson on a fight -- just wanted a nice, well-fitting case to go back and forth to my church and keep it somewhat climate controlled in the winter. Works perfectly for that purpose!

Bought this case for my Fender FA-345CE and so glad I did. It fits perfectly... zero movement! Very happy with the quality and construction of this case.

This is a great case for protecting my new guitar. It fits snug in the case, offers great protection, and is not too heavy. I took the new guitar, which was in the new case, to my childhood guitar teacher, and while he dug the new guitar, he really admired the case; said it was the best he had seen in a long time. I agree. I want to thank Mason and the rest of the team at Sweetwater for helping me find the right case.

Have had my case for about a week now. It fits the Washburn very nicely. The only thing I do not like is the weight of it. With the guitar inside it, it seems very heavy to carry as compared to my other guitars and their hard cases.

I can confirm that Gibson J-45 fits perfectly snug. It feels good in my hands. Haven't checked it real life action.
One major concern is the disclaimer sticker on the product claims "California Proposition 65 Warning: Cancer and reproductive harm." WTF?

The appearance and overall features of this case are OK but the shape of the molded form is too short for a dreadnaught guitar without forcing the guitar into the case. I bought this case with the advice of the sales rep who indicated it would be better than a comparable SKB case I was considering and because it has TSA approved latches, but the molding on the inside makes it almost unusable unless I can mash the form down and provide a bit more room at the shoulders of the upper bout. Otherwise it will quickly wear the finish off the edges of the guitar. To clarify a bit more, let me say that this case is for a 1937 dreadnaught reproduction I am working on and the template for the guitar will not go down into the case and it is only 1/4" thick, not the full depth height of the completed body. This body will go into a SKB case that I have for another guitar, also a dreadnaught, but guilt on a slightly smaller mold, and the older guitar will also go into this new case OK so I will probably switch cases for the two guitars, but the advertised dimensions on this case indicate that it should fit the '37 body fine. So, I am not as pleased with it as I had hoped and may not buy any more cases unseen.

I bought this case for my 1984 Martin D28. The original case is falling apart, so I started shopping for a replacement. The fit is snug without being overly tight. I shopped around a good bit before settling on the Gator ATA TSA case. There are stronger cases out there and there are more attractive cases out there but that all comes with a hefty price tag. This case offers great protection at an affordable price. I own the same type of case for a Les Paul.

Traveling from the U.S. to Costa Rica, I was absolutely afraid of shipping my Taylor KOA Acoustic guitar. I had spoken to several touring musicians who filled me with horror stories about how many guitars they have lost over the years while traveling. The most frequent advice I got is to leave my guitar at home and buy a new one when I get to my destination. Well, after 3 months of searching for a new guitar in Costa Rica, I found nothing that compares to my Taylor. So, after more investigation, I came across reviews about the Gator Case and I decided to take a chance. What could possibly go wrong with a military-grade case which is routinely tested by the manufacturer throwing it off of buildings?

Well, everything went superbly well. My Taylor Guitar arrived in Costa Rica in tune and without a scratch, although I cannot say the same for the Gator case which sustained a noticeable dent on one of the corners. Inside the case, I found a Notice from the TSA that they opened the case to inspect the contents. This means they had to unlock the case with their own key, which means the TSA approved lock on the Gator Case did its job.

Thank you Gator for manufacturing a well priced and high-value product, and thank you, Sweetwater, for making sure I received the case in time to make my trip.

I was concerned traveling back and forth to Hawaii with ukulele and guitar. The Martin cases are very nice and I did not want to have them stuck in air plane cargo hold. The gator cases adds a level of protection, has the tsa approved locks and provide piece of mind when room is limited and they have to go into cargo hold!

I was looking for a hard shell case, for a child hood 1963 J-50 Gibson. I was steered towards a great case. Received the case in no time, with updates when I would receive it. My Gibson fit like a glove in this Gator ATA Molded Guitar case. Could not be any happier. Great service guy !

I love how durable this case is. My acoustic Takamine fits great in it. It's a little heavy to lug around in the airport, but it's worth it. They had to put my guitar under the plane because it wouldn't fit in the overhead bin on a smaller plane. Came back to me without a scratch and guitar was even still in tune when I took it out. Purchase this if you travel a lot!

Great case for the money. I purchased it for an Alvarez MD60EBG I recently purchased and it fits in this case like it was made for it. However, the specs for the case say it's a quarter inch bigger than the dimensions of the Alvarez so I was expecting a little play. I'm pleased that it's tighter for my application but others should be aware that the interior dimensions are a bit smaller than advertised. I bought this case because an Alvarez case I was using was not holding humidity well and I wanted something I could take the guitar on trips with. I own a similar OM size SKB case which is also good but this one feels sturdier with thicker ABS. I really like how it stands up on it's own in my guitar closet. I'd definitely buy another one for any similar instruments.

Received the case after it safely transported a perfectly-fitting Martin GPCPA-1 overseas. Case will take a beating, that's for sure. My issue is, however long I leave the case open outside, I can't seem to get rid of a terrible Fiberglass-like smell from the inside of the case. This, of course, makes my guitar smell terrible every time I take it out. It's been four months now. If anyone has an idea of how to fix this, please let me know. Otherwise I'd give this product 5 stars.

Love this case so far! Feels sturdy and well built! Just took a trip to Puerto Rico on a missions trip and on all four flights I was on it was able to either fit in the overhead or the first class closet as a carryon! Can't speak for how it holds up underneath the plane but it has worked every time as a carryon which made me feel good and made me feel like it was safe (as someone who was flying with their guitar for the first time).

I purchased this case to carry my Martin D-35 to Los Angeles and back. The case is very well made and light. I was able to carry my guitar on the flight, but I would have had no problem checking the guitar as luggage. The case is really that good.

Got this case for Father's Day for my Martin Dcpa4r acoustic guitar. This case seems very solid and I love the latches. ALL QUALITY! The case is shorter than the stock Martin case and may afford a better fit in the overhead airline bin.
