Will last forever
If you are going to bother to buy a new hardcase this series is the one to go with. I have had so many mediocre cases over the years with metal hinges and latches that break or vinyl covering that rips. Even the backing board cracking or breaking when loads shift. This gator ata solves all of those issues.
TSA SG Case
Perfect fit for my lefty sg style guitar.Nice and snug with no movement what so ever customer service and facility was awesome definitely recommend to anyone to stop here and check this place out.
Gibson SG TSA Flight Case.
Beautiful craftsmanship, axe fits in exact. Proof will be next week when I fly to UK from Phoenix. I'm lead to believe guitars are classed as carry on cabin luggage but looking at the integrity of the product it will withstand some rough handling.
Excellent molded guitar case
My grand daughter likes the case a lot.
Not bad
Bought this case for a friend as he and his Mrs. are moving out to the Golden State and I wasn't certain if they would be flying back and forth or driving. As it turns out, they're driving but that's okay as it is a good sturdy and lightweight case, suitable for most means of travel. The case fits perfectly around a left handed Epiphone SG guitar. Don't know how a TSA agent would regard it but certainly believe the case able to withstand baggage handlers.
TSA-Approved Guitar Case
Yes, great case. But my son did lock it as was told because TSA has a master key. Well, he left Florida to Detroit to Japan. The case did not make it out of Detroit because they couldn't open it. My suggestion is if you use this system, call the airports your case will be traveling through and make sure they are prepared with the correct procedure OR do not lock it. Detroit tells him they will send it on to Japan after they figure out how to open it. There are no words for the idiocy of airports.
Excellent case
This is a very high quality case for your Gibson SG. The padded grippy handle is a nice touch. The inside is super deluxe. It fits the 2016 SG Standard P90 perfectly! The interior storage is enough for a few packs of strings, a 10' cable, some picks, and a slide or capo. You can't leave your strap on while the guitar is in the case. I would give it 5 stars if it had more storage inside and room to leave the strap on.
Solid Case
I have 3 of these. Two for an SG and one for a Les Paul.
The LP fits Snug and Perfect.
My SGs are a little loose but I stuffed a couple of regular socks up by the headstock and seems to have stopped the guitar from shifting.
These cases are built solid and time will tell how the handle and latches hold up.
TIGHT, TIGHT, TIGHT
There is no question but that this is a very nice case and that it will protect your SG against everything aside from a nuclear blast. The downside is there's no room in the case for anything other than the guitar, not even a strap, and it will not fit if your SG, like mine, has a Bigsby. I kept the one I bought because I'm going to buy another SG without a tremolo, one that doesn't come with a hardshell case. I mean what is Gibson thinking with gig bags for their guitars? For what you spend on a Gibson, they should all come with hs cases. Anyway, this Gator case would be a good investment if you don't care about putting anything else in it aside from your SG without a strap, capo, a couple of necessary tools, extra strings...you get the idea.
Pretty killer protection
This case is going to protect your SG. I might even check it through on a plane, it's that good, even though it is not a true flight case. The fit of the guitar in this case is way better than the TKL plywood case I originally got (then returned). But it could fit the guitar a lot better. Then neck seems well supported, but there's still airspace under the body of the guitar. I folded a cloth there which helps, but why can't they just accurately nail the actual shape of the guitar? This case is a bit heavy, not enough to bother me, but it is also very thick. It almost looks like an acoustic case it is so thick. The internal compartment is ok but the lid is floppy and for the size of the case I wish it was bigger. Overall a bit goofy looking compared to a Gibson issue plywood case, but will totally protect your precious SG. I'm keeping it.
