Gator Slipping

By Rich from New Jersey
Music Background: Gigging musician

I bought the space gig bag because the last one I purchased was a Gator and a really great gig bag for my bass. However, the last gator gig bag I bought has been discontinued and this is the closest one to it. I thought why not since I liked gator in the first place this could only be an improvement, right? Well, I was wrong while the price point was in the same neighborhood. The quality has gone down. The new design of the front pocket flap is terrible. Overall, the construction and protection that the case is supposed to provide is significantly lower than previous gator products.

Three stars is a high rating in comparison to other manufacturers which would get one or two stars.

Almost Perfect!

By Dan D. from Boston MA
Music Background: 50+ years playing rock/blues/country live and in studio

Gave this case a "baptism by fire" travelling from Boston - New Orleans - Denver - Boston. Kept guitar safe and secure and was reasonably easy to carry around and get into airline overheads (with some negotiation with other passengers). Lots of padding and pockets, and I like the black color -- it's not a pure black, sort of washed-looking so doesn't show dirt. Only reason for 4 1/2 stars (vs. 5) is that the case is a little wide for my Spector NS-2 -- had to pack a towel so it wouldn't flop side-to-side (see photo).

Great Case

By Rich S. from Montague, NJ
Music Background: Gigging bass player

My new go to case since the last one I ordered was discontinued/not available. All the quality you would expect from Gator. Good cost effective protection for your bass. A couple of cool features with this one. A huuuge pocket at the back of the case with a zipper down the middle for expansion. I am going to shove my stand in there. Four D rings to clip stuff on. Case zipper goes around the headstock more than I've seen on any case.
PRO TIP: Do not throw out the plastic bag that the case comes in. Fold it up and stick it in a pocket. Use it to cover the case if you get stuck having to carry it in the rain. It will keep it dry. Kind of a case raincoat.
Sweetwater packs it in a guitar box with miles of bubble wrap. A plus for me since I need it for packing for a move. That stuff is not cheap to buy!

Gator Transit Bass Gig Bag Long Term Review

By William D. from Knoxville, TN
Music Background: Bass. Not a great musician, but I play a lot.

First the good; This thing is really well padded. It protects better than any gig bag I have ever used. It may even be better than some cheap hard cases I have had. It fits my 35" scale Laklands.

Needs Improvement; The shoulder straps are too low on the bag. This makes them unusable for taller people. I'm 6' and if I try to use the shoulder strap the bass sticks two ft above my head and hits on doorways.

The side handle has plastic reinforcement in it. This breaks over time and use, leaving only fabric holding the side handle together.
This leaves the back loop above the shoulder straps. This is constructed of the material and in the way the side handle should have been constructed.
The top pocket is kinda useless. Maybe small flat cables will fit in there. I never put much in there.
The big front pocket is great but the flap over it is useless and in the way. To get in the big front pocket you are always flipping the big flap out of the way. It's a PIA.
I usually like Gator stuff. This could use some improvement. As stated in the title, this is a long-term review over approximately 5 years at approx. 80 gigs per year. Your results may vary.

Great gig bag for the price!

By Shane from Alabama
Music Background: Christian, country, praise and worship

I bought a new bass through Sweetwater as well. I bought a left handed bass so sometimes cases can be hard to find. I will need a flight case in the future but this case has a lot to offer. Nice padded lining. Plenty of pockets for a pedal or two, cords etc. definitely not as flimsy as some gig bags I've had. Worth your money if you need one

Phenomenal Gig Bag

By Christopher F. from Jamestown, ND
Music Background: Hobby player

As with any Gator products, you can expect a quality product that delivers. That being said, I was blown away by the quality of it. VERY solid for being a gig bag. The front pocket is a bottomless pit its so huge. There are 2 pads that are moveable inside the case to adjust to the size of your bass. Have traveled all over the country with this case in the back of my truck already and will continue to do so. I see no need for a hard case with this bag in hand.

Sturdy and Comfortable

By BerkshireBird from Massachusetts
Music Background: Bass player, sometimes soundperson. They say Good Girls go to Heaven, Bad Girls go Everywhere.

This was better than I expected for the price. The foam is dense enough to hold its own but not so dense that it is inflexible. The neck rest is an added bonus by creating enough room for the headstock that the tuning machines don't get bumped. I also like all of the reinforcement points throughout, particularly along the bottom end of the bag where previous gig bags have developed holes from the strap button. My bass fits in it very comfortably, and the shoulder straps makes it fit comfortably on me.

Perfect Fit and Exceptional Service

By James T.

Recently bought my son a new bass guitar with a unique design. The case that the guitar manufacturer recommended did not fit the bass correctly. We went to Sweetwater to look at cases. Our sales technician, Chris StLeger was beyond helpful. Not only did he have different cases brought from the warehouse, he had the exact bass brought down so we could see how it fit in the different cases. We were able to pick the right case based on fit and need. We will definitely work with Chris in the future for my son's band needs.

Good for the money but not great

By Enossified from Boston, MA

For decades I used Mooradian gig bags for both my double bass and bass guitars. After a gig where I had to walk about 6 blocks in the rain with my Mooradian bag over my shoulder slipping and sliding around with the one strap, I began to wish it had backpack straps like the factory bag I have for my NS Radius. It was starting to show signs of wear after over 30 years of use and Mooradian had gone out of business, so I went looking for something else.

This Gator bag was on sale for just under $ and it seemed to tick all the boxes. It is what some call "semi-hard" with stiff padding including a neck support and it has lots of pockets but most importantly to me it has backpack straps. With a bass inside, carrying it by the side handle the neck end tilts up rather than being horizontal. Not a deal breaker, but it's the first bass guitar bag I've owned that does that and I find it uncomfortable. The balance is fine when using the backpack straps, just be careful when going through doorways! A second handle on the rear of the bag just above the backpack straps also has poor balance is poor, again the bag tilts uncomfortably. With only a year of use so far I have no idea if the bag will hold up long term as well as my Mooradian bag did, but it seems solidly made.

The zippers all have pull tabs which is nice when wearing gloves. Three pockets is generous but the main pocket isn't as big as my old Mooradian, so some larger items won't fit any more. The other pockets only hold slim items like a cellphone, short cables, strings, your car keys, small tools, etc. Sheet music only fits in the main pocket. The flap over the main pocket has a pocket that will hold a single Boss-sized pedal, but it's a tight fit and too small for an iPad if you use one on gigs. The way the flap attaches allows fitting bulkier items underneath but it's not as secure as a pocket. It would be OK for a raincoat, a sweater, etc. A pocket on the rear allows storing the backpack straps when not needed.

D rings allow attaching stuff to the outside of the bag with bungee cords or other types of straps. It would work nicely with small secondary bag to have one less item to hand carry at load-in/out. A D ring at the neck end of the bag allows hanging the bag from a coat hook. Using all the D rings, it's possible to strap down a folding mike stand or other large items like bulky coats. Just keep in mind that the more stuff attached to the bag the heavier the load for your shoulders.

The neck support and the extra padding to accommodate basses of different sizes is a nice idea on paper but, but basses with longer than 34" scales may not fit. My 4 string P basses fit with the padding, but my Fender Jazz V only fits with the padding removed. As far as getting the bass in and out of the bag, the neck support gets in the way when holding the bag vertically because it's held in place by velcro. Moving the bass up vertically to get in and out of the bag can detach it. Opening the zipper fully opens the bag up like a hardshell case, then getting the bass in and out is easier and the neck support stays put. It took me a while to get used to this because none of my other bags open that wide.

I'm giving it only 3 stars because of the limited capacity of the main pocket and more importantly the poor balance when carrying by the side and rear handles.

Solid bass bag with useful features at a good price.

By Charlie from Lake Tahoe, NV
Music Background: Working bassist.

This is a lightweight rigid and well-padded bass bag. It will fit standard-size basses such as a Fender P bass or Jazz. The main front pocket will easily fit a thick bass strap, strings, cables, tool kit, etc. There are smaller pockets that would be perfect for a phone or other small items. I have some gig bags that cost 2-3 times the money and they are not functionally superior to the Gator bag. I took off a 1/2 a star because the backpack straps are not long for us big guys, but I can live with them. And BTW, the straps tuck away in a zippered compartment. I think the quality is good, it's functional in every way I need, and I didn't have to spend much on such a good product. That's a win.

Very good gig bag.

By Charlie T. from Lake Tahoe, NV
Music Background: working bassist

I purchased this bass gig bag for my new Squier Paranormal Rascal bass. (Great bass BTW.) The bass fits the bag perfectly. It is a short-scale bass with a full-sized body, so it takes a normal case. I like this case for its price point, quality, and protection. I looked at quite a few online before deciding on the Gator. It has some stiffness to it which I prefer. The padding is excellent and I feel confident that there will be no damage to the bass inside. There is extra padding at the bottom and also the headstock; both are well protected. The handle is comfortable and well made and there should never be a problem with it tearing out; it is riveted into the shell. inside there is extra protection for the case itself where the bridge and tuning machines could cause wear and tear. The straps could be longer for a big guy like me, but they will still do fine for back packing, which I often do. There is a rubber bumper on the butt end to protect the case and instrument inside, plus it gives the case a bit of protection from shallow water or snow. As for the appearance, it is very nice and has a quality look, if that matters. My least favorite thing about it is the front pocket. It is fairly large but the "G" buckle wasn'the best way to close the pocket. It won't be a deal breaker though. The other pockets should be very useful for smaller items like a phone, keys, etc. The case is very well made and should last for many years. Sweetwater rocked the delivery!

Decent for what it is, could improve in some areas

By Hilmar from TX

I received this bag together with a Lakland 55-60 (5 string Jazz style, so fairly bulky) that I bought, which was shipped in this case cross country in a sturdy shipping box with protection around it.

This is a "floppy" case, all rigidity is provided by the instrument inside, so be aware of that. In that product category, this is among the more expensive options. As a completely non-rigid bag, it's fairly good: Zippers are nice, fabric looks/feels good, straps and handles seem OK. Neck support is nice, and the red inside is awesome. Don't you hate not being able to find your stuff in your bag? For that reason I have a backpack with light interior as well. Definitely a pro on this bag. The rubber on the bottom is also nice. It's not MONO size or quality, but there's a significant price difference as well. Another nice thing is the added pillow/padding for the bottom, but see below, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

Some of the improvement points are: The shape. It's got that floppy overly bulky shape to it, as if the material was on sale and "the more the merrier" was the design philosophy. Not a fan. The closure of the front pocket is meh. The size of the pockets is small too. Everything is bulky on this thing, but don't try to pack anything else outside where you keep the bass. They could have added some pockets in the main compartment... Another thing is the "fashionable" slanted shape of the main front pocket. I guess it looks good. Finally the extra bottom padding. It's OK, but because the case is floppy/flimsy, will allow your bass to wiggle beside it and render it less useful. My bass was shipped cross country, arrived without transport-induced damage, but when I opened it up, it had slid besides that extra padding. Not wide enough? Maybe needs a more rigid bottom?

Overall, this is a decent bag if you're in the market to get something fairly lightweight to move to/from local shows or rehearsals. Personally, I'd probably go with Gator's Icon bag instead of this, which, yes I know, is about twice as much, but is sleeker shaped and (maybe because of...) its semi-rigidity. If money were no object, I'd probably go with a Gruv Gear Kapsule. Yes, this bag is nicer than my other cheap gig bag, which I bought in the mid 90s, but I'd carefully consider your options with your budget.

Very Nice Bass Bag

By Sweetwater Customer from IN

This bag is exactly what I need in a gig bag. Lots of protection, not heavy, plenty of extra storage, and easy to carry. I like the fact that the back pack straps hide and don't simply flap around when not in use. Overall a great bag.

Nice Gig Bag with One Flaw

By Michael N. from West Des Moines, IA
Music Background: Retired band director. Now a worship bassist.

I like everything about this bag except for one thing (I'll get to that later). First the pros: This bag is well-constructed; heavy duty material on the outside and plenty of padding inside. The charcoal black is a nice color. Each of my basses (Ric, Fender P, Schecter Elite 5, Ray34) fits nicely into this bag. One of the features that drew me to this bag is the shoulder straps can be tucked away if not needed. For my use, there are enough pockets in which to store items.

Now the con: Whoever designed the clasping mechanism for the flap covering the large storage pocket did not hit a home-run with this design. In theory it looks nice, but it doesn't stay hooked. Who likes dealing with a flopping flap? If it wasn't for that one flaw, I would heartily recommend this bag. But as it currently stands……….

Wonderful bag that fits all my needs. It is quite expansive with how much stuff you can put in the front pocket, and the options on how everything is secured as well as carried around is quite good. Works well for my five string bass guitar.

So-so

By Tortilla M.

This gig bag was a little too flimsy for my taste. It's got okay neck support and padding and better than other gig bags I've owned in the past. But I think I should of paid extra money for a sturdier one.

I nice bag for the money

By Simon W. from Stevensville, MD
Music Background: Perfoming since '94. Reception Halls, Clubs, Bars, Restaurants, Yacht Clubs, Boats, Festivals.

This is a pretty well thought out bag. The only thing that is a pain is the unusual clasp they have designed for the flap pocket on the front. Chances are, you will be attempting to close it in the dark when your last set is over and it isn't exactly easy to see this as everything is dark. Maybe the lighter color versions of this are not as problematic. But regardless of visibility, it is something that you will need both hands for which isn't easy because of it's location.

I wasn't too crazy about the inside color, but the price lured me into a purchase.

I like the fact that is almost black so it disappears into the shadows in the back of the stage, but it is more of a dark gray. I just seems to look a little more sophisticated in the dark gray.

I've take this to two rehearsals and one gig. It performs well. The rubber lining on the bottom of the case is very thick and I don't feel unsafe in standing it up against my car or my amp with my bass inside. The zippers are sturdy. The handle is well made, well anchored, and doesn't dig into your fingers when you carry the bag. I feel there is definitely enough padding if you travel with it on the subway, bus, train, or by car. I have one of the backpack straps tucked into the rear strap compartment as I generally use just one strap to sling the bass over my shoulder. The buckle for the strap I have tucked into the flap pocket so it doesn't have the potential of dinging my bass through the padding in any way. If I were still gigging in a city and walking I would definitely use the bag's backpack feature and it is very comfortable in that format.

Not a whole lot of room in the upper pocket or the flap pocket, but the main pocket will fit a large tablet, cables, and a strap. The upper pocket is really only good for business cards and earplugs as it is very tight and right on top of the fingerboard. That flap pocket will probably fit a DI or a single downsized pedal if you need it. I generally keep a stash of rubber washers to secure my bass strap and I have found it convenient for my cell phone.

I love the neck rest in this thing. What a great idea. You can position it where it is best for your bass. Also there are two extra foam pieces. One for the headstock and one for the butt end of the instrument. Because I have a Yamaha BB in there, I needed to add a little more foam so the bass is not shifting around, but it really does feel very secure to have it in this bag.

A really cool feature is the metal rings on the front. I have used these to attach a bungee cord into which I tuck a Hercules bass stand. Fits perfectly. There is also a metal ring on the back by the headstock. I don't understand why Gator didn't also add a hook to this thing for when you want to hang it. That would have been a big plus. The other thing that I wish this thing had would be a mesh pocket for a bottled drink. One less thing to hold while you go from car to studio or stage. That also would have been a welcome addition. I would have paid an extra $20 for the convenience.

Best Gig Bag I've Owned

By Jim K. from AZ

It's sturdy, keeps it's shape, and provides great protection for my basses. Fits the bass well. Plenty of padding at the bottom of the bass. Bass stays in tune pretty well in transport. I keep my wireless and tuner in the upper pocket; cords, strings and tools in the lower (large) pocket; small items in the middle pocket. I feel like I spent $ wisely with this case.

Very well designed and built

By Jim K. from Arizona
Music Background: Musician 40+ years

I bought this as a light weight case for when I have to carry the bass some distance. It's not like one of those 'hey lets make a guitar case' kinda things. This is a very well designed, very well thought-out, very well made, like they've been doing it for a long time kinda things. It's a gig bag from a company in the business of making products with their own name on them. If you don't want a cheap case, you'll get your money's worth with one of these.

A great gigbag

By ben from GA

I really like nearly everything about this bag - robust zippers, good padding, solid shoulder straps, decent pocket storage. I dinged it half a star because the asymmetrical main pocket flap is little wonky. That's just my personal taste though. Don't let it stop you from getting this high quality gig bag.

As always, my sales tech Richard W. knocked it out of the park.

Nice bag, good protection, but slim pockets

By Michael from Eugene, Oregon

I like this bag, but my wish is that the slim pockets—or at least the upper pocket neat the headstock—were a bit more capacious. I have everything of any size—an always-on pedal, my wireless units, and some tools—packed into the main pocket, and a small notebook in the upper slit pocket. I ran some thin bungee cord through the D-rings to make a little web for my mini stand. Gator makes an add-on bag that connects to the D-rings, but it's expensive and—as of Nov 2021—comes in only one color, which doesn't match my charcoal case.

The Gator bass Transit bag is the second I've owned (the first was sized for guitar). These cases are well-made study canvas, not designed for protection against misuse but for overall protection against wear, bumps, weather, etc. My Geddy Lee jazz bass fits snugly inside the case with the bottom pad in place and the top pad removed. Arrived two days after I ordered it. Thanks, Mark.

Gator Transit Bass Gig Bag

By Jack from Northern California
Music Background: Journeyman amateur musician

I like this bag, especially the rubber on the bottom and the adjustable Velcro-attached padding inside. Also, the zippers seem to operate smoothly, and I like the adjustable hook on the big, outside flap.

I was also considering the Mono Bass Sleeve and the Gruv Gear Sliver, both great bags. But I decided on this one because of the rubber bottom and the price. It's great for my purposes; back and forth to rehearsals, jams, and gigs mostly in town. For the money, I'd say it's a very good value.

Look no further!

By Julian from TX

So I needed a quick grab and go gig bag, and really I wasn't expecting much. I didn't want something too cheap, but I also didn't want to spend too much. Let me just say. Wow! This case not only looks beautiful, but it's very convenient. The pockets are at a perfect placement, perfect size, and well constructed. The outer fabric is tough, but the right kind of tough. Now the interior. Wow! Very red haha! It's soft yet supportive! The placement of the removable foam is perfect! I like that it fits my jazz bass AND my Jackson 5 string bass! And that Jackson that has a really pointy headstock! So it's very versatile! And if you lean this on a wall, it won't collapse! It's also thin, so it's not going to compete with your amps for room haha! If I could give this a 10/10 I'd give it an 11!

Fits like a glove

By Dave from PA
Music Background: Teacher and Musician

This is the perfect case for my Fender Jazz Bass. It's like it was a custom made case for my bass with it cradling the instrument with no excessive movement. Carrying it on the shoulders with the straps feels soft and easy to carry. If you carry it with the handle it does not lay perpendicular to the ground but carries on and angle, abling you to move through a doorway with ease. The loop is also a good way of carrying the case in a crowd room of people. The loop also makes it easier to lift the case while putting on the shoulder straps. I can carry one less bag to the gig also because of the large pocket at the bottom. I wish I would have bought this years ago

I reviews this bag once already when I first purchased it through Sweetwater. After using it pretty much every weekend for many months since then, I wanted to review it again. It is by far the best gig bag you can buy at this price. I feel like its just as good and maybe better than some bags costing as much more. Its light weight, has plenty of storage and plenty of padding. I do not believe you can buy a better bag in this price range.

great bag

By Tim V. from New Castle Indiana
Music Background: Semi pro/weekend warrior for 27 years.

I purchased this bag to go with a new Lakland bass I purchased at Sweetwater. This is an excellent bag. it provides neck support. The interior is very nice. It also fits my Fender Precision bass as well. It is a bit of a struggle trying to fit my Fender American Deluxe Jazz bass V into it. It will fit, but its tight.

If you gig often and like the ease of a gig bag, this is a great one. You wont be disappointed.

Perfect for Epiphone Allen Woody bass guitar

By Russ from Orange County, CA
Music Background: Started playing electric in '66.

I finally found a bag that fits my Epiphone Allen Woody bass guitar. The lower bout has about 1 inch of excess width. But, it works fine. When zippered, the guitar feels snug and does not move around. This case has enough padding to prevent dents and dings. It's perfect for transporting your bass to church, local gigs, or to your buddy's garage. As for me, I'm just an old guy who wants to have fun playing bass and guitar at home. This case is perfect for me. It's light, yet protective. And it looks nice.

Gator Transit Bass gig bag

By Jeff C. from Davie, FL
Music Background: Bassist

I decided to replace the gig bag I was using with something more comfortable to carry while moving my gear around and I found it!

This case holds all of the accessories that I carry with me, cables, extra strings, repair tools, tuners, etc. I didn't have to leave out anything from the prior case, just re-organized where I keep everything. The bass I use is a Roscoe 3006 6 string. It fits perfectly in the case.

The case supports the neck a lot better than my other gig bags. It's obviously not as protective as a hard case but I can't remember when I have used a hard case.

The strap(s) are very comfortable for those gigs that require a long walk to the load in. The case is also thinner than my other gig bags.

Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase.

As always, my Sweetwater rep (Nick Church) was super fast with the processing and shipping. Thanks Nick!!

I wanted a new gig bag to replace an older worn out bag and my sales rep suggested the Gator Transit series. I really like it! It offers great protection in a small size. I gig about 3-4 times a month and hard cases are just too bulky to carry, but I don't have any concerns carrying my PRS Custom 22 in this gig bag! It doesn't have as much storage as some other bags but I carry my cables in another bag so it's not a big deal. The only downside I have had is the neck support on the inside is held in by velcro and I've pulled it out on accident when pulling the guitar out of the bag but it's just a minor issue. Overall great protection in a moderately priced gig bag.

Wellmade- Great protection for your Bass

By Dave from Willoughby, Ohio
Music Background: retired music teacher and local musician

This wasn't the original gig bag I was interested in, but a Customer Service rep gave this a high rating. I am glad I listened to him. The bag is well made, sturdy and provides a lot of padding for my bass. My 1980 Fender Jazz has never been this well protected. I think it is even better than the original hard shell case and it looks great. It has several nice pockets for the typical stuff you would need. This is the third and the best gig bag I have had.

Best case ever

By Todd from arkansas

I ordered the tan model, and was blown away by the quality and attention to detail of this bag. I love that all the supplemental padding is moveable, i.e. neck support, and top and bottom guards. I can fit my large di pedal, cords, and power cords all in the messenger style pouch. The best feature are the large padded straps. you won't be disappointed with this bag. I sure wasn't.

best one yet!

this is the best gig bag I've ever owned. light and sturdy. I ordered the tan model and my bass fits snug and safe, first gig it was pouring, kept everything bone dry. Nice long straps make carrying for a longer distance super comfy.

Excellent, best bang for the gig bag buck

By Tim W. from Ohio

A great alternative to the ProGo. This one is lighter and has much better shoulder straps. I carry a 7 pound bass in mine, so it is light as a feather. At first glance it is less heavy duty, but still has nearly the padding of the more expensive one. Reinforced and padded in all the right places, for local gigging driving yourself it's excellent.

One thing to note is that pocket space is limited. I carry an iPad, strap, a small bag of small tools and picks, and a set of in-ear monitor earbuds. Maybe a cable. Pedals and other gig stuff goes in a different bag. So it works for me. If you HAVE to have all your gear in the gig bag, get a different one.

The only thing I'd change is make a little more pocket space and lose the flap.

Gator bass case

By Michael from Vermomt

Really nice case just wish there was more room for a couples of pedals other than that it is a great case. It does hold one of my pedals. It is weather resistant , so when it's raining it does keep things dry I have experience this first hand and has really good back pack straps plus it's really heavily constructed. I like that it is lighter than hard shell cases and it paded more than all other soft shell cases, protects your axe very well worth the price.

Gig Bag That Protects

By xrz1616 from Tacoma, Wa

Great Product! Great Price!
Very well made to protect the gear.
Durable and sturdy for long time use.
No other color option is the only downside in my own opinion.
But everything else is good to go!
Also, Sweetwater's customer service is superb.

Great bag

By Ted from Eudora MS

As a working musician I have used gig bags for several years, I don't like hard cases, My old bag wore out, and I needed something that would be light, and sturdy at the same time, and have pockets for cables, and my tuner. Good padding in the right places was absolutely essential. This bag seems to meet all the requirements, and being owner of other Gator products I had no reservations in making this purchase.

Gator Transit Series Bass Guitar Bag

By Bill from B'ham, Al

I was looking for a good case or sturdy gig bag for my new Fender Series Mustang P/J (pickups) Bass (from Sweetwater) that had just come out, & I had just receieved mine.. The shorter scale Mustang Bass can sometimes be tough to find a case or gig bag for.. But this new series of Gator Bass Gig Bag did the trick.. Loved the Bass & wanted to protect it - And this Gator Bass Gig Bag did it.. Durable, Great outside pockets, re-enforced on the bottom very well (almost looks like they took a piece of good tire tread to do it, although they didn't).. At any rate, the whole series of these Gator Guitar Bags are great, priced good and you can't beat Sweetwater's Customer Service, or my Sales Rep Nick Church, who I've been doing business with for 7 or 8 years..
