As the amount of gear that contains disc drives and liquid crystal displays grows, so too is the need for an affordable shock rack. Gator's new G-SHOCK deluxe shock rack cases have a 20.5" rackable depth and are molded from the incredibly durable high-density military grade polyethylene. This lightweight, yet super strong material insures maximum protection at a weight you can easily manage. Gator G-SHOCK uses rubber shock absorbers on all eight corners, which assures a soft ride in every direction. The internal 19-inch rack frame has threaded front and rear rack rails. In addition, Gator G-SHOCK has another exclusive - a moveable rear support system! This does away with needing a machine shop in your garage to make a rear support for your power amps or rack gear. Furthermore, those threaded rack rails are field replaceable. Exclusive to the Gator G-SHOCK racks are locking front and rear lids.

The first thing that jumps out is how light weight they are. The mounting rail threads are a single and floating piece of aluminum - I'm not a fan of this, but it works. I would prefer individual clips, each holding a nut, for each screw. Also, the case comes with an underwhelming amount of screws. The gaskets on the screws that are shipped mounted, not the in the separate bag, and not usable - they're crushed and most of mine disintegrated as soon as I unscrewed them. It isn't obvious to me if the sliding shelf bracket is adjustable, or removable. There are no instructions nor documentation with with the case. The weight can't be beat - that alone is why you're buying this. I like the air-gap the shock-mount creates and this was a deciding factor for me. I recommend ordering additional screws - this is where it lost a half-star.
