Ibanez SR Gio GSR200 Electric Bass Guitar - Black Reviews
Is your bass too heavy? Is it too big? The Ibanez GSR200 Bass series offers great low end and still keeps its size and weight down. This model of the famed Sound Gear series offers a compact body and smaller neck to help alleviate those neck and back problems. You get the best of both worlds with one J-style pickup and one P-style pickup, both bringing their recognizable tone to your fingertips. The active PHAT-II bass boost adds additional low end to your sound. Keep the band thumping all night long with the Ibanez GSR200 Bass.

Sounds just how I wanted.
Sounds very crisp.
Great bass!
I play guitar and recently switched to bass. This is a great bass for beginners and I'll be keeping it as I advance. Great playability and tone.
Great bass! Different from pictures
This is my first bass guitar. It plays great and I'm having a lot of fun with it! It should be noted, however, that the color of the fretboard does not match the pictures. For the black model, the pics show a dark, almost black stain on the fretboard. The bass I received has a very brown color, like the fretboard shown on the red GSR200. Not a big deal, and it still looks good, but it would've been nice to know before buying.
Perfect gift!
Bought this for my girlfriend for her birthday, after she said she had wanted a bass. She loves it. Plays well and great for a beginner.
Excellent Intro bass
Sounds and feels great. Excellent bass, especially considering the price. And, as always, the customer service at Sweetwater is superb.
Great bass on a budget
I am so pleased with this purchase! I always wanted to learn to play bass, and have a general purpose one for my recording studio. This one fits the bill, and is easy on the eyes as well. Perfectly playable right out of the box, I've already used it on 3 records. You really can't beat this buy friends. I recommend it highly.
Beginer
As a beginner to the bass, this is great. Sounds great, especially with 4 nobs for making your own tone and such. And over all i'm impressed. And for me it the first time a package came on exact date. so im just glad it was worth my money.
Great Bass for the price
I bought this bass for my daughter who is just beginning. I also play bass. We wanted something decent that a teenage female would be able to play and grow with. The bass was ready to play out of the box. It stays in tune. The neck is a nice size for female hands, but I can play it comfortably too. It is lighter in weight but still has a good, full bass sound. She plays it every day and I must admit that I do too. I would highly recommend this bass for beginners and also for seasoned bass players looking for a second bass.
The Ibanez GSR200
I'm very happy with the purchase! Long time guitar player who has started recording, so I needed a bass to fill out the sound. Sweetwater came through (as always) -- the Ibanez looks great, plays great, and sounds great. Right out of the box. Yes I had to tune it, but other than that it was ready to go.
Nice Bass
Great Bass for the price. I bought this for my daughter, but I seem to be having a lot of fun with it too! I bit lightweight but has a very good sustain nevertheless... it's a good weight for my daughter, and looks very cool.
Great bass for the price
A friend recommended this bass to me, and he was right --- it's the perfect bass for a beginner like me. I'm still amazed by the low price.
Great first bass for guitarists!
Ibanez basses are the perfect size & neck profile for guitarists who want to give bass a try or, like me, have a one-man band project where YOU do it all. The version I have is an older one without the bass boost feature, but with the combination of both P-style & J-style pickups, you really can get a variety of tones suitable for any project. My general setting is both pickups on full with the tone control rolled down about 25% or just 1/4 of the way back... as always, adjust to taste. These are also great basses for someone just starting out on bass in general - something like a P-bass, while it will sound good, might just be physically too much to handle for a beginner, leading to fatigue... playing music should be fun, not painful. Ibanez basses are a GREAT way to begin the awesome journey into the universal language of music & have many more models available as the musician grows in experience and develops likes/dislikes & preferences.
Disappointed
There is gunk all over the frets, and a weird black stain on the neck.
