GS Mini Great Quality!
This guitar packs a punch, really ergonomic neck. It has a great tone for its size and the quality can be felt. Definitely a nice little guitar for travel and at home.
Just what I wanted!
This is a great little guitar. I could not quite give it 5 stars though just because of slightly misleading advertising from Taylor.
The GS mini is a wonderful practice and travel guitar. That is just what I wanted. It plays beautifully and is a small guitar that is easy to tote around and easy for a smaller guy like me to play with no effort. I had Sweetwater set the guitar up, which makes it really sweet to play. Being a shorter scale, the strings are easier to fret, of course.
Taylor infers that you will be shocked by the tone and volume coming out of this guitar, and I was not. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good, but it does sound like the smaller guitar that it is. It lacks the tone, color, and volume of a full-sized dreadnought, and I would not attempt to use it on stage or for recording, unless you hook it up to an amp and give it some help with volume and equalization. I did not buy one with electronics, so I can't fully comment on that.
This is a great little guitar, made with the same level of quality that everyone has come to expect from Taylor. It is fun to play and unbeatable as a practice and travel guitar, but you need to look for a guitar with more size, like a full sized Taylor guitar, before you will get the sound that really makes you smile.
