The real deal.
The GS mini is a really good sounding, easy to chord guitar. I can't find fault with it. I've tried. It's got great sustainment and great electronics. The people at church who are not musicians. Said "Hey Adam I don't know what is different but your guitar sounds better today for some reason?' I know the reason

The Best Christmas Present
This was the best Christmas present for my granddaughter! Made her very happy.
Taylor GS Mini-e Mahogany, an awesome travel guitar and the best sounding GS mini
I was looking for a grab-n-go travel guitar to add to my guitarsenal. I drove 3 hours to visit Sweetwater and play a number of GS Minis plus the Martin D-Jr-10E StreetMaster. I started with the GS mini-e Koa and compared it to the the GS mini-e Mahogany. The solid Koa top on the Koa model is the best looking mini, however, the solid Mahogany top on the Mahogany model is the best sounding mini (and was $ cheaper to boot). The Mahogany had good mid-bass, and the Mahogany top mellowed the brightness of this small guitar's highs a bit. By comparison, the Koa's mid-bass was about the same as Mahogany, but the highs were stronger and honestly, approached brittle to my ears. The GS Mini Sapale with its solid spruce top was way too bright for me. Note that all three of these are factory strung with D'Addario XS PB Medium strings; the XS strings are both loud and bright for PB strings. I'm considering switching to Martin LifeSpan 2.0 PB Medium strings, which should take a notch of the brightness. I was a little concerned about the Medium guage strings (all my other guitars are Lights), but on this short scale guitar, the mediums feel fine, just like Lights on a full sized guitar.
The setup on the GS mini was perfect right out of the box, bass action about 2.0 mm and treble action about 1.25 mm. No setup work was needed on this guitar.
The gig bag is a high point for the GS minis. It is a really nice gig bag that has a firm neck support insert. Additionally, the bag has firm foam padding throughout. The empty bag will support itself horizontally without flopping down. My other 5 acoustic guitars all have hard shell cases, but the GS mini gig bag is the right carrying solution for this guitar, very light, but still protective.
I also tried the GS mini-e Koa Plus which adds the better ES2 pickup system(vs the ES-B for the rest of the GS minis). Additionally, the Koa Plus comes in an even nicer AeroCase, however, the Koa Plus was $ more than the Mahogany-e; that was too expensive for my travel guitar.
I also played the Martin D-Jr-10E Streetmaster as it is the same price as the GS mini-e Mahogany. My draw to the Junior is that it is all solid wood (sapele) vs solid Mahogany top and layered Sapele for the GS Mini Mahogany. The Junior is a slightly larger guitar (15/16 size vs 7/8 size for the GS mini, 24" vs. 23.5" scale). As expected, it had more bass and less treble than the GS mini. I had a few fellow customers listen to me play both the Junior and the GS mini Mahogany. The consensus was that they were both excellent guitars with the Junior sounding like a Martin (more bass), and the GS Mini sounding like a Taylor (good mid-bass with excellent treble). The action on the Martin out-of-the-box was much higher than the GS mini; a setup would be needed to make the Junior play easily. Finally, the gig bag on the Martin is pretty poor compared to the GS mini. The Martin's bag has relatively soft foam with no internal support for the neck. The empty bag flopped down when I held it horizontally on one end.
All in all, the GS Mini-e Mahogany was the winner for me. It was worth the drive to get to play all these guitars in person, and visiting Sweetwater is worth the travel; it is a REALLY impressive campus,
GSmini e Mahogany
I couldn't be more happy with this guitar. The sound from this guitar is music to my ears. The craftsmanship is excellent and the gig bag is the best I've seen. As a 75 year old who hasn't played a guitar since 7th grade, I'm in awe of the sound quality from the GSmini e that I purchased.
5 stars all the way
The Sweetwater Difference
I bought my daughter a Taylor GS Mini-e Mahogany for her birthday. The guitar sounds great and was inspected by sweetwater before shipment. Prior to delivery, we received pics of the guitar! After delivery, a message from the salesman checking on us! Fantastic experience! The built in tuner is a must! You can never go wrong with a Taylor! Thank you Sweetwater… I'll be back!
Superior quality
What a guitar! Love it, came Uber fast, sounds amazing.
What a beautiful guitar
I love the tone of the Mahogany and the short scale is easy on the fingers. The built in tuner is very handy. Ryan Murray was extremely helpful in having it set up to my specifications - light strings with low action for fingerstyle. He also had Grover Rotomatic locking tuners installed. What a wonderful guitar.
Gig Rig
I have been looking at these minis for about 5 years. I finally decided to buy one. Wow is all I can say!
What an amazing Gig Rig! When I called Jeff Bohan and asked what he thought about this guitar, all he had to say was "he owned one and loved it". I have bought so much equipment over the years from Jeff, and trust his opinion completely! Guitar got here on time and in tune as always. Went ahead and ordered a hard shell case as I can see this little jewel doing a lot of miles with me.
As always, the absolute best customer service in the business!! I have said it many times before, there are 5 GC near me in the DFW Texas metro, but I buy everything from Jeff and Sweetwater. Quality, and customer service at its best!
Feels like home
This amazing little guitar has some the warmest biggest sound I've seen out of a 3/4 . First time I picked it up felt like I'd been playing it gs minis for years. Really comfortable and versatile. 10/10. Be warned, the treble slider will come in handy as when it is plugged in it is very VERY bright ( I have it at 20% most of the time). Still best acoustic I've ever played!
Exactly what I needed
I love the warm, deep resonance of mahogany Taylor guitars. I have a beautiful AD22e, and a Baby Taylor for super casual, extra convenient use. What I needed was something between the two guitars and the GS mini fit the bill to a tee. It's considerably more resonant that the baby Taylor yet remains lightweight. The mahogany wood and design delivers through a beautiful reddish-brown wood with a natural, two-toned fretboard. Customer service was absolutely exceptional.
Oh Yeah
I love this little guitar with a big sound!
The fit and finish is flawless. It came perfectly playable out of the box. I changed to lighter strings and adjusted it to my liking and the tone and projection are phenomenal unplugged.
A big thanks to Matthew Klopfenstien for talking me into this over another acoustic I was looking at. Sweetwater has my business for life.
My favorite of all time.
I've playing electric guitar exclusively since 1986. Oh I would fiddle around with acoustics here and there but never found them to be very comfortable to play. Then I stumbled upon the Taylor Minis....wow!
So comfortable and easy to play. That shorter scale mixed that awesome Taylor neck and tone combine to perfection.
After trying the Koa and Sitka Spruce I tried the Mahogany....for me the choice was immediate. That deep warm tone is so sweet. Love it.
I call it the ultimate, best acoustic I've ever played, and now own. Try one.
Amazing!!!
I couldn't pass up the great deal my sweetwater guy hooked up on this. Was looking for another guitar and ended up buying both and this one was kind of on a whim. I play this more than my other guitar that I bought. It's the most amazing sounding acoustic I've ever played. The chords just jump off this guitar and it sounds so much bigger than it is. Seriously happy I bought this. It stays out and gets played all the time now. I can't believe how great this guitar sounds. I wish they made a gs mini with a cutaway. That would be the ultimate. Tuner is great as well. It's my favorite guitar at the moment and I don't see that changing anytime soon. It's so small and comfortable to play and everything sounds great on this guitar. Arpeggios, chords, single lines, harmonics...everything. Taylor what an outstanding job you guys did on this little acoustic.
YES!!
Perfect travel guitar with an awesome case for the purpose. She sounds much louder than she should and much cleaner too. This is no substitute for a 300 or more series Taylor but, its way better than a $500 guitar for beater purposes.
As always, top-notch service from Grant at Sweetwater, fast and safe shipping.
Taylor GS mini
I recently purchased. a Taylor GS mini-mohogany and I have to say I love this guitar. It looks better in person than the photos and it sounds so good, has a rich warm tone and it projects a lot of sound for a smaller guitar. Also want to say that the service at Sweetwater is the best you all find. They deserve 10 stars at least and my sales technician Braden Thacher is the best,he has been really patient and answers all my questions. He also calls me and has been very helpful with everything I have purchased.I highly recommend this guitar and also Sweetwater they are simply the best.
Sweet water experience
This is my second guitar from Sweetwater and I've had great experiences with them. The guitar came and I did not even have to tune it, it was already set up, it looks great and plays great. It's a good guitar for a player who is only a year in such as myself. It gives great confidence with cord changes and barre cords.
I would recommend this to anyone and especially recommend purchasing from Sweetwater!
Taylor GS-Mini Mohogany
I got this guitar on Friday and had to wait a day to open it,that almost killed me but the wait was worth it. This guitar is absolutely amazing. It looks better in person than it even does in pictures and the. Sound is amazing. I did have Sweetwater set it up and they did an amazing job as always. The only thing I changed was a lighter set of strings,Merton .012-.054. I wanted to try them and I like a lighter string,I am sure the strings on it are fine it was just a personal choice. This is now my go to guitar I can't put it down. I also got the SKB case for the GS-Mini,the fit is great and the case is heavy duty will protect your guitar from almost anything I highly recommend it.As always Sweetwater did a fabulous job through the whole process.I have bought 4- guitars from them and been highly satisfied with every one, Te whole team does an awesome job , from the packaging to getting it delivered on time. My guy Braden Thacher is the best keeping me updated every step of the way and calling and checking in, to answering all my many questions. He deserves five stars for that. I know this is long but I can't say enough about these people. If you haven't shopped here you need to try them these are fellow musicians who really understand you and want to make sure you get exactly want you want or need.
My first Taylor
I ordered without having ever owned or played a Taylor. Guitar arrived in perfect condition, excellent packaging etc. The quality of workmanship is impressive! Electronics are faultless. I consider it a great buy. Thanks to Jeff W. At Sweetwater for an easy purchase etc.

Awesome. Fun. 5 stars but the tuner
I haven't plugged it in yet. But I love it. Sounds great. It's fun to play. Open tunings sound great. I slam chords mostly but finger style sounds really good. It's fun and very well made.
The only thing I don't like is the ES-B chromatic tuner. I'm not sure if it is a dud or not. But I was excited to have the onboard tuner and it just isn't good. Curious if anyone else has had a problem with the tuner.
I initially wanted a beater guitar. Glad I stretched the budget for this.
The sweetwater guys were good to me too in helping to find the top/grain that spoke to me. Came in tune and setup nicely. Case is great too. It is incredibly light weight.
