Great Stand

By Rob R. from Baltimore
Music Background: Rhythm Guitar for the Baltimore Based Band "Foul Play"

This is exactly what I was looking for in a stand. My band is tough on equipment, and this stand is tough enough to take it, looks great, and doesn't take up too much room on stage. I highly recommend it!!!

Works well, but was difficult to assemble

By Mark S. from INDIAN TRAIL, NC
Music Background: Decades of semi-professional guitar playing

In the end I am happy with this guitar rack. It looks OK in our living room and feels solid with three guitars on it. But it lost a star because the assembly was difficult, especially the base. I had doubts about the screw placement until the end, when tightening finally did pull everything into place.

Great for small stages

By Michael C. from WELLINGTON, FL

This stand is excellent when there isn't much room on stages for multiple stands. Very sturdy!

Handy little rack

By Sweetwater Customer

I got this to keep my go to guitars handy in the studio. It seems sturdy enough and fits right in the space I needed. Padded in all the right places. Assembly was a little challenging at times but that can be expected with this kind of thing.

Mine was not well made

By Allan H. from Springfield, IL
Music Background: Playing and singing for 56 years. A member of the longest running sibling band in America with all original members.

I have not had this stand very long. The top bar came loose. I tried to screw it back in but the threaded hole is stripped. Not sure how that happened unless someone else took it apart and stripped it. Is not built that sturdy. I am going to have my brother tack weld it in place. Also some of the screws are square heads that may also work with phillips. and others are just phillips head. That really is another thing that just doesn't make sense. Just use the same screws for all of it.

Stand works kind ok

By Sweetwater Customer

Set up & assembly is difficult. Now that it is assembled it seems to work for now at least. Not a quality stand.

Skip the middleman and throw your guitar on the ground.

By Snappyneckman

This is it, you've been looking for the worst guitar stand ever made. Well then you have found it. If you have three guitars you want to knock into each other and fall over, then this is the stand for you. Folding is a nice word for collapsible and unsteady.

Good stand for smaller gigs

By Zack G. from Blue Ridge, GA
Music Background: Gigging amateur, songwriter

Bought this for solo gigs where I bring an acoustic, electric, and occasionally another guitar or bass (esp. if it turns into a duo). I wanted something sturdy and portable but wouldn't take up too much space on stage. It's pretty good quality and lightweight. A couple design improvements I'd make would be a latch to keep the upper and lower halves together during transportation (kind of annoying if it flies open); keeping the slot dividers more secure in the stand (sometimes they fall out), and a way to latch then on to the stand when moving. I fixed this by using a velcro cable tie and securing them to the top of the stand so I don't lose them. Last thing is it is a bit tight for a dreadnaught acoustic and other guitars like semi-hollows. They fit but sometimes you have to bump into the sides when changing guitars quickly. Not real complaints here since it does the job, but could be improved.

Utter trash. Nightmare to assemble!

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Working professional

Don't waste your money. Buy something else. Terrible directions/design/quality of parts. It was a nightmare to assemble. I would have been better off making something out of scrap wood and duct tape. Sweetwater should discontinue carrying this trash. Hurts your reputation!

Triple guitar stand

By Tom

This stand holds my 2 acoustics and 1 fender telecaster perfectly, should have purchased this sooner. Really cleans up my music room.

Poor quality

By Sweetwater Customer

Assembly was difficult due to difficulty aligning, the rubber feet fell off on first use, and the dividers won't stay on. Very disappointing.

Works fine, but you may run into all kinds of fun putting it together, the reviews here and on amazon are not lying!!

By Mike

You can see from the attached pics of the holes that QC isn't very observant. The pics are opposite sides of the same holes and were not drilled correctly. The self tapping screws are a pain in the butt and should have been nuts and bolts, 4 of the 8 screws never tightened and feel like they are stripped out of the box. Ironically this thing could never be used ON STAGE, it's wobbly even with everything as tight as can be. It's gonna sit where it is and not get moved, and was not worth the the time and hassle to dis-assemble and return. I would save the $60 and buy a stand with better quality.

Not trustworthy

By David T. from ESSEXVILLE, MI

I just bought this and it came in very fast. It was easy to out together (thats why two stars.) It is a foldable stand and is VERY easy to fold. I put one of my guitars in it and it fell down. There needs to be a different mechanism that holds the guitar in place.
I've decided to just buy regular stands. I guess its a case of you get what you pay for.

Great stand

By Tommy from Pennsylvania

A little smaller than my old 3 guitar stand. Serves its purpose. Durable and reliable.

Decent

By Sweetwater Customer

Once assembled it does its job. It was an immense pain to get together, I recommend a power drill to ease those screws in. I kinda of wish it didn't fold, as the ease of it collapsing is a bit of a headache. However it is a inexpensive solution if you are in need of multiple stands.

Do not Buy! Bad Quality, Uneven areas!

By Matt from New Orleans

So I got this in with several other items. This was my one dud out of my gear ordered. First out of the box before putting together...the existing screws on it, were uneven and not in all the way.

The padding bars at the top for the necks were uneven. I called right away, and got a swap out. Shout out to Sweetwater customer service! I'd recommend the next tier up with budget...the D&A. I replaced this with just the one guitar stand D&A. I only decided on this 3, at the price point and the fact I have one expensive Gibson. The other 2 guitars, are cheap sessions, so figured why not. Big mistake!

If you are going to own a guitar rack, for an expensive guitar buy something better! Especially if multiple high end guitars! This one here looks more like a DIY maybe it'll work kit. And this was to be just for home studio use. I'm sure some have just made it work, and dealt with it. But with the way Gibson head stocks are, foot traffic in my home...this build is a no go. Maybe on a budget with a squire in a lone room. But not for professional use IMO!

Awful construction

By Michael from Georgia
Music Background: Guitarist

This stand is a piece of junk! Do not waste your money on it. Poorly designed and cheap parts. Sending it back as it won't line up properly and I am not putting a nice guitar on this cheap stand as I don't trust it not to collapse.

February 3, 2021

Cheap, not very sturdy or durable.

By Westley from Nebraska

Assembly requires the user to install self-tapping screws through pipes that are not pre drilled. Stand feels kinda flimsy and I doubt it would hold up to much use on the road. Works ok for sitting in a studio though.

Sturdy rack!

By V. B. from Portland

I bought this to accommodate my growing collection of bass guitars and it performs beautifully! The unit is sturdy and construction was a breeze with just a few tools.

Deceiving name, Bad product

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Tour Manager & Audio Engineer

Fair warning, this rack is NOT FOLDABLE and that title is highly deceiving. Once built, it is perfectly rigid and fixed with sheet metal self-tapping screws. It is not easy to transport and is not road-friendly. Assembly is definitely required and not particularly easy. Very disappointing product for the price, I returned it immediately.

Utility Stand 10/10

Terrible quality

By James

This thing must've been manufactured on a Friday afternoon. You need to assemble this stand and it's as basic as it gets. Not one bolt hole lined up, the parts looked used and the padding even had water stains on it. I literally had to bend pieces to make it work and still had a bad lean to it when I was done. As a side note I'm a heavy machinery mechanic so it wasn't due to my lack of common sense. To sum it up I'd choose a stand at Walmart over this thing and wouldn't pay more than $5 for it.

One thing worth mentioning is I did contact my Sweetwater sales rep and he offered to exchange it for me. After all the work I put into making it work it wasn't worth my time or frustration going through it again so I kept it. If I were Sweetwater I would not sell this product.

Assembly REQUIRED

By steve from mason, OH

I was very disappointed to see that this needed to be put together. Not my "thang". This stand is only for my room, not for traveling or gigging, so the folding concept isn't needed. But there's no way to lock it in place once it's up. I have to hope the weight of the guitars will keep it upright. I wish I had known it needed to be assembled - would not have bought it.

DO NOT BUY!

By Doug K. from Jacksonville, FL

Let me be blunt. I regret buying this rack. The experience of putting this nightmare of a stand together was one of the worst experiences of my life and I have put together a ton of furniture from IKEA. After spending far too long on assembly this thing is not very stable. I hate this thing so much I am in the process of ordering a different stand from a different manufacturer to replace this piece of garbage.

Really disappointing

By BPS from Minneapolis, MN
Music Background: Long history of home studio rock band production

This is priced low as a warning. It took much longer to assemble than I thought due to the self-tapping screws needed to affix the front and rear bars that support the guitar's body. It's very difficult to square this thing up, which I think is a huge red flag for its design. I labored for too long to get the front and rear supports squared with the side supports, the neck support folds down but does not have a way to lock upright, which gives me concerns. The two separators that insert into the front and rear base rods are a joke; they don't attach so much as they just sit in place and wiggle around. The angle that it holds the guitars at is a little off as well, you really have to lay it down in order for the neck support to do anything. I ordered this in hopes of an inexpensive, no-nonsense storage for my guitars, and I find I have to fuss with it more than my regular standard individual tripod guitar stands. I don't recommend this product.

Holds your guitars

By Sweetwater Customer

It holds your guitars as stated but the quality is little off. I was expecting a slightly better and more solid construction. Especially the separators at the bottom can't be fixed and they will fall off once in a while.

Not a good stand for transporting to gigs.

By Sweetwater Customer from California
Music Background: Semi-pro

I had a difficult time getting the legs to level out and not rock. Finally got them to an acceptable point then started dealing with the dividers. They just pop in AND OUT. With a very light touch they come right out and will soon be lost if you need to transport which is what I bought it for. For a cheapo stand for home use it would e OK but it doesn't work for my situation.

This is a good one.

By Dave B. from La Grange, IL
Music Background: Full-time musician (according to the IRS) for over 25 years.

It's a guitar stand, so it holds guitars. Not much to tell here. :) But, it is a good one at a good price. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the two separating rails don't sit nice and tight once installed. Not that it really matters in the stand's functionality, but combined with the fact that the self-tapping screw holes didn't match up that well with their pre-marked entry points, it just shows that On-Stage should make their manufacturing not seem so hashed out.

All that being said, again the stand works fine, it's at a good price, and I honestly would recommend it if you're looking to buy.

Should have been a 5 star

By John T. from Plymouth, IN
Music Background: Long and varied.

I could have so easily been a 5 star but the engineers and manufactures missed the simple stuff. Yes, it is sturdy, with some mods. Yes, it's all metal. Yes, it is worth the money. Yes, I'll keep it. Problems? Right off the bat instead of using nuts and bolt to assemble the 2 crossbars on the base, they used sheet metal screws with pre drilled that were both too large and not in the right place to make all four legs touch. So you have to stand on it twist it. Then of course the screws strip and you are left with a less than 100% tight base. Nuts and bolts would have solved this. You know loose / stripped sheet metal screws will eventually come out. I just used heavy tie straps in a X shape over each connection. Next, those little dividers on the base you see. Laughable connection. You just sort of push them and hope the don't fall out every time you pull a guitar out. Transporting from gig to gig? Forget about it. They'll be MIA within a month. They weren't even shaped right to fit. So, after a lot of bending and retrofitting the make both ends go straight in and a little JB weld to make sure they don't come out, BAM. I have a really nice stand that will last and do the job. But, I shouldn't have had to fix their simple design flaws that could have been so easily avoided on their end.

Hard plastic plugs block assembly screws

By JL from U.S.

Not impressed with quality-control. To assemble one of the parts, I had two options: either remove the plastic end-plugs entirely (leaving a sharp metal edge exposed, not optimal), or get out my electric drill and drill new holes for the screws to go through the hard plastic plugs. I chose to remove the endplugs with a pair of Vise-Grips and put some masking tape on the sharp metal edges so I wouldn't cut myself on the darn thing. What it looks like to me, is that someone in the factory that day substituted hard plastic plugs instead of soft rubber plugs - *if* the plugs had been soft rubber, no drilling would have been required, the screws would have just pushed the rubber inwards far enough to allow assembly.

Good Deal

By KD
Music Background: Drums/Bass/Live Sound

It does the job. We use these at school, and they do just fine for both guitar and bass. Some assembly required, but with the instructions it took me about 20 minutes to get it going. The little dividers on the bottom seem to be removable for storage (i.e. they will fall out if not kept horizontal), but since we move them so much we usually just leave them off. I may be getting one for myself in the future. A note about the padding- on the round parts (points of normal contact) it is about 2-3mm of sturdy padding, but the square tubing on the bottom and sides have only about 1mm, sort of like a foam tape. It's definitely enough to prevent denting/scratching.

It's OK but don't Love it

By Miguel from Nashville
Music Background: Guitarist/Producer

I have a Hercules 5 guitar stand and it's SOOO worth the money. I got this stand for a month tour I'm doing to swap guitars live... Not a great idea. If you're gonna have it seat in your home studio and not move it, I think it does the job. For the road, big No-no! The frame feels cheap too. I guess it does the job but I don't trust it nearly as much as I do my Hercules.
