Hercules Stands GS414B PLUS Single Guitar Stand with Auto Grip System
Hercules Stands GS414B PLUS Single Guitar Stand with Auto Grip System Reviews
The Hercules Stands GS414B Plus is a versatile guitar stand. Its auto-grip system fits instruments with a neck width up to 2". This Hercules guitar stand's instant height-adjustment clutch allows for easy changes on the fly. Accommodate your ukulele, mandolin, banjo, or violin, thanks to the GS414B Plus's N.I.N.A. accessory. And foam rubber contact points safeguard your instrument from damage. Beyond that, high-friction rubber feet provide excellent stability. Don't lean your guitar against your amp, it'll fall over and break! That's why Sweetwater recommends using a Hercules guitar stand like the GS414B Plus.

Best stand ever. Sturdy, solid, no worries. Highly recommend.
Hercules Stands GS414B Plus Single Guitar Stand with Auto Grip System
It have a very good and strong features. Easy to assemble and very stable. This is currently my third Hercules auto grip system guitar stand, I'm very satisfied with this brand and I will buy more in the future.
Outstanding for security and quick attach and quick release of your guitar.
I should have bought this years ago. I have had guitars spill from spindly stands. Or it takes too much finesse to quickly place it squarely in place. This thing has a single strong post rising from a secure tripod base. The clever mechanism at the top grabs the neck of the guitar by its own weight when you place it in the stand, locking it in place. To remove the guitar you simply lift it straight up and it releases quickly. Well worth the cost to protect your Les Paul or acoustic guitar. I've sent recommendations for this stand to all my guitar playing friends.
Hercules GS414B PLUS Single Guitar Stand
Very sturdy and reliable guitar stand. The auto-grip system is a great feature because it securely holds the guitar when placed on the stand. The build quality is excellent and it feels very safe for expensive instruments. Easy to set up and fold.
Not a good design for banjo.
This stand doesn't work for banjos, even with the rubber bushings supplied to make the gap smaller. I've tried 6 different banjos on it, and the results are the same. The forks are too wide, and the entire weight of the banjo is supported by the 1st and 4th string tuners. Not only is this bad for the banjo, but the banjo immediately goes out of tune when placed on the stand. The clamp mechanism is a good design, but it's just too wide to safely hold a banjo neck. The rubber bushings supplied would need to be 4 times thicker than they are to contact the peghead before the tuners do. I'm fixing it myself, but it wasn't thought out very well from a banjo standpoint.
Hercules Guitar Stand
I always loved the Hercules guitar stands. I had to replace another one because it got damaged, but they are the best!
Fantastic
Nicest guitar stand I've ever owned
Great stand but...
Works as advertised. Sturdy. Holds my guitars well during gigs. The non-retractable yoke at the top is a bit problematic when loading your car/truck, since it takes up more space than a foldable yoke (which itself is problematic because the yoke doesn't lock when folded).
Honestly, is this the best the industry can do for a rock-solid stand made from modern materials that won't disintegrate over time, is space-efficient, and uses a better locking mechanism than a screw against a pole? If our industry can come up with modern mic stands (yes, they are expensive, but you get what you pay for), why not guitar/bass stands?
Sturdy, stable, secure
The best guitar stands in my opinion—solid construction; sturdy, no-tip base; and a mechanism that secures the neck and prevents the guitar from falling forward.
Fantastic Guitar Stand!
The Hercules Stands GS414B PLUS Single Guitar Stand with Auto Grip System works great with my acoustic guitar. No worries about knocking the stand over or losing the guitar off the stand. The padded legs allow for soft resting points for the guitar body. The neck grip keeps the guitar held firmly in place and has the option to add the soft resting pads. The nice feature about this stand is the way the guitar mostly hangs from the neck grip and the guitar body gently rests against the padded legs. The height adjustment is easy and can accommodate various size instruments. The stand and neck can be separated and the stand folded up for travel.
Hercules GS414B Plus Single Guitar Stand
Hercules is now my favorite go to brand for accessories. The Hercules products are built heavily and do what they were designed to do exceptionally well. They offer great value for their cost. This guitar stand works extremely well for my Firebird guitar and would be great for other non-traditional shaped guitars such as Explorers, Flying V's, etc. that will not rest in standard stands. The tripod base makes for exceptional stability and the hanger locks the guitar in place preventing it from falling out. Get one today; you won't regret it!
Love it
Love it so much I bought a second. I've always hated those stupid little forks that hold the guitar body on cheap stands. They spin around and the strap gets caught etc. None of that here. This stand is very solid and stable. The body just rests against the well-padded legs, easy peasy. The neck holder has a cool mechanical system that automatically closes to lock the neck in place when you put the guitar in and opens when you take it out. I added the strap/headphones holder accessory and I'm glad I did, but even without it, this is a great stand. Highly recommend.
The best!
I have two of these, utilizing these at my acoustic performances. Built well and work wonderfully.
Hercules Guitar Stand
The Hercules stand is the most sturdy and functional guitar stand I have ever owned. I have a few of them.
fantastic stand.
If you never had a hercules stand you definitely gotta get one if you want to be confident in your guitar's safey. Especially you Gibson and Epiphone lovers. You know what I'm talking about, you know, about that headstock, you know, a dive on that thing could really break your heart. I have never owned a guitar stand that filled me with the confidence that this thing does. It's sturdy it's strong as all get out, and I know my Epiphone Les Paul is safe. And one day when I finally can afford a Gibson Les, Paul or SG i'm not going to spend a couple thousand dollars on it and put it in a cheaply made stand. I'm going to get a Hercules. I recommend you do too. Thank you for your time. Thank you for listening to my TED talk
super solid
Great stand, works perfectly for ny bass guitar. Super solid stand.
Like the Rock of Gibraltar
This stand is like the Rock of Gibraltar. It is really difficult, if not impossible to knock over without a baseball bat of TNT. Seriously, it is very stable and grabs the headstock securely. I use if it a room full of bluegrass musicians who are always changing their instruments. Funny how they always seek out my guitar stand.
Hercules Guitar Stand
This is a great stand for my acoustic guitar. well built and balanced, hard to knock over, it's awesome!
Hercules GS414B Guitar Stand
An excellent product.
Nice but don't like the change
I had the 3 guitar model and my band mate has the single guitar model. However, the new model does not have the collapsible head. I am not sure why they changed it but IMO this was not a good choice. Still like stand but a step back.
Nothing But Hercules
These are tremedous stand's. Hercules stands are the only instrument stand you will find on my stage or in my studio.I will not even give their competitors a glance.
Hercules Stand-GS414B
Very heavy duty guitar stand works really well. It supports my Strat Great.!!
Top notch
Great durable guitar stand. Love it.
My second One, since the first one has done so well
So I purchased one over a year ago and have used it for practice and gigs. It is way sturdier that typical guitar stands and keeps my guitars much safer. I have had no issues with the mechanical parts nor the foam protection on the legs. I play out using two guitars most of the time. I have the fancy three guitar foldout case and a double stand. I found that most venues have a small stage area and the double basic metal stand is not safe enough. So I bought a second one of these and it works great. I can fit two guitars next to each other in a pretty tight space. The fold up nicely and fit into a Mic stand bag well. After having guitars do the face plant because someone knocked into a stand, It was easy to pay a little extra for the protection of your valuable instruments.
xcellent Stand for Rickenbacker Bass
This is hands-down the best stand I've used for my Rickenbacker bass. It's the only one that's given me full confidence that my instrument won't tip over. The stand is very sturdy and well-balanced, which is crucial for the offset body and neck-heavy design of a Ric.
What really sets it apart is the soft, secure padding around the headstock area and the locking mechanism that holds the neck in place. It keeps the bass firmly supported without scratching or stressing the finish.
If you're looking for a reliable stand that you can trust with your high-end instrument, this is the one. I won't use anything else now.
Good Stand!!!
I wasn't sure if I would just like it, or really love it. After a few weeks, I feel like this is "safer" way to park a guitar. Much better than older single-guitar stands. I really like the extra spacers for narrower necks like a tele. I think they are a little pricey for what they are.
Hercules Stand
First off you gotta love the dip lock system! It's like a wall mount system on a stand with foam padding on the front 2 legs. It's awesome, I love it, will buy again.
Best stand I’ve ever owned
Very sturdy, and I love the auto lock system from the weight of the guitar! I've definitely bumped into it, thinking it would knock over, but stood in place! I'll definitely be buying another one
Top quality
In my opinion there is no better stand on the market today and they do not react badly with nitrocellulose finishes very sturdy easy to set up very reliable.
Perfect For My Needs
My guitar teacher told me that he'd had a luthier glue the headstock back onto his 12 string because his cat had knocked the guitar over. I resolved to find the most sturdy guitar stand I could to prevent a similar mishap from ever befalling my favorite archtop. My sales engineer recommended this stand, and I think it's *perfect* for my needs. The stand has some real heft to it, and the wide tripod base is very stable. Perhaps best of all, the yoke (the part that holds the guitar) has little tabs that, when the guitar is put onto the stand, rotate up to hold the guitar in place. Great design!
Very Secure Stand for Guitar and Bass
After 50 years of playing I've purchased several stands of varying price and style. This one, by far, is the best I've owned. The adjustable height makes allows for perfect fit. The stand is well-built and holds the instrument securely in place with a "slant-back" angle. Although not inexpensive, it is certainly worth the price. I also bought the stand's bag, which can be slung over the shoulder for easy carrying.
Securely cradles my guitar
This stand is solid, sturdy and has some nice padding features to protect my guitar- I dig the auto grip system, easy on, easy off.
Hercules Guitar Stand is Great !!
Love my new Hercules guitar stand . I love the stand on how the neck of the guitar is held on the stand . I had used basic guitar stands over the years . I am so glad I upgraded to this professional guitar stand . I use for church and at my house . I keep my guitar out so a could noodle around and jam at anytime. Sam( sales rep) at sweet water was nice and kept me updated the shipping !
Tom
Works great.
Guitar stand
I love the protection that this stand gives
Convenient
I have another shorter Hercules Stand I use for holding my guitar through the day in-between practing/playing. I store my guitar's in their case at night humidified. Now, while practicing I use this one. the easy grip clamp is handy and quick for removal and it's quickly height adjustable. So if your on a 24" or 36" stool very easy to reach and grab or place your guitar in. Plus it's not wobbly or unstable feeling at all. If you prize your guitars like I do. Look no further and go ahead and own one of these.
Absolutely love this stand.
This stand is fantastic. The way it holds the guitar makes it feel very secure and very safe. It is so easy to take it on and off the stand as well. I had a little stage stand and I never felt like my guitar was very secure with it. I also felt it was hard to set it down and have it stand straight. It was always leaning slightly left or right. Not with this stand though it is 100% perfect every time and really showcases the instrument.
Hercules Guitar Stand
The best single guitar stand. Love it. Stable and dependable.
Great Stand
Great stand at a great price! Recommended.
Hercules Guitar stand
just what I needed great heavy duty stand thanks again Patrick!
The best guitar stand!
This stand rocks! My church got these for the worship team... love them - so I bought one. Other stands are fiddly. This stand is solid, with a wide base, and adjustable height - for different size guitars. It even comes with adapters for mandolin and other guitars that are more narrow. Just hang the guitar and the head stock is grabbed by the weight activated holders that move into place to securely hold your axe. The body of your guitar rests against the legs - which are covered with a thick, firm foam that protects your guitar.
Trying to trust Hercules products again
Solid, reliable guitar stand
I have had my share of guitar stands through my journey. These Hercules GS414 keeps my guitar and bass secure. The build quality is excellent. I like the way the stand grips the neck for the added security. Overall, does the job and does it really well.
Guitar Stand
I ordered 5 of the Hercules Guitar Stands for my Church and I received my order in great condition and I received it fast!
I am very happy with Sweetwater's service.
Great guitar stand
This is now the stand for my favorite guitar. The one I use the most. Easy to use. Secures the guitar every time. Releases the guitar intuitively.
Great Guitar Stand
I bought this after having a stand from Amazon's basics line. The difference is night and day. This feels sturdy and secure and well worth the difference in price to my previous stand
Worth the money
Best guitar stand I have ever used, even fits my 6 string Ibanez bass!!
Auto Grip Hercules Stand
I have two and bought one for my friend. Fits Taylor and Strat with the included bumpers. Very stable.
Guitar Stand
Arrived in a timely manner. Best guitar stand I've ever had over the past 30 years. Very sturdy and holds the guitar in place without tip over.
Best guitar stand
Handy sturdy convenient
Will buy again.
Hercules Guitar Stands
I have replaced all of my guitar stands with the Hercules Auto Grip System. It is the most stable and steady of guitar stand that I have used to hold each of my guitars. The Auto Grip System works tremendously. With the guitar gripped securely into the most stable stand, I don't have to be concerned about my prized guitars being accidentally knocked off the stand and damaged. Other stands I have used aren't as stable and secure. The single stands are great. Easy to take with me and to protect my guitars when taking a break.
Your guitar worth it?
Don't let your prize axe flop over in that cheap stand, protect it and enjoy quality at an affordable price. Simple choice…
Hercules Guitar Stand.
Love the locking system. It is the most adjustable and stable stand. Highly recommend.
Perfect for my basses
Very happy with this product. Sturdy, stable, and light. It holds up well both my Fender Jazz bass and my Sire V7. Service from Sweetwater was as usual…amazing on every aspect.
Very secure
The locking mechanism at the yoke makes me feel very confident that my instrument is not going to twist out and hit the stage. As I have started to buy more expensive guitars, those cheaper stands just didn't feel right anymore. I was constantly worried that some vibration from people walking by or music being played was going to cause my guitar to twist out of the yoke. This stand also has a quick height adjust to accommodate multiple styles of guitars or basses.
Very Sturdy
This guitar stand is a wonderful addition and better than the rest of my guitar stands. I love the neck grip.
Sturdy and Stable
I like this style of stand because they seem to be less prone to tipping over. I'm sure there's some sort of geometry lesson here, but that's above my pay grade. This particular stand is well-constructed and sturdy and it came with some larger bushings for the neck clamp, which helped secure a narrow-necked Martin.
Hercules Stands GS414B PLUS Single Guitar Stand
great stand, very stable. Light weight and easy to adjust
Best Stand I have found in this price range
The locking holder works great. This stand is very sturdy compared to typical stands. After many months this thing is still solid and have not seen any signs of break down.
5 start stand
Not much to say other than the best stand I've ever owned. Got tired of tripping over the cheapies. This is rugged and gives me zero worries about the guitar gettign knocked over.
Excellent stand!
It's the third one I have purchased. I just don't trust my guitars to anything else.
Best stand ever
I have a number of stands that I have used in my practice area the years, some crafted from wood and very attractive however a moment of carelessness with most of them allows the guitar to be dislodged and on occasion make it all the way to the floor. Not so with this, the legs can be adjusted for a wide stance so that the stand itself is very stable the greatest feature is that if placed on the stand correctly the neck of is surrounded by two "Auto lock" levers that are actuated by the weight of the guitar. The bulk of my stable is comprised of classical guitars some that are very light yet they work just fine with this stand. So whilst it may not win any beauty contest or match your wood furniture it will hold your guitar securely!
Great Stand
I have used multiple type of stands over the years. If you want the security of knowing your guitar is not going to be knocked off its stand while on a gig, this is for you. I have only had this stand for a month but so far it is perfect for me. I wish there was a double style with this locking mechanism. Keep in mind that this is made with some plastic, so long term and heavy usage could see it wear out. But for the price it is the best out there. If they made a completely metal one for double the price I would buy it. This beats anything in its price range.
Hercules stand
I like it ---Have two---
The best
I've tried many. This is the best single guitar stand I've ever used. Sturdy, well built, fits most guitars and basses, fair price.
Great Stand for All Guitars
These are the only stands I can use on my Epi Extura (or Explorer) and my Les Pauls and SG!! The bonus carrying bag is a Godsend!! Thank you, Lei Fonsah!!! Best sales rep ever!!!
Instrument stand
Solid investment
Great stand
Love these stands. This is the second one I've bought. Bought the first one 6 months ago when I purchased my first high end guitar. I feel the guitar is much safer in these stands than the 15-20 dollar ones I use to use. Love the auto locking head holder. No chance of an accidental fall out of the stand. Also the stand is super sturdy and it would take a lot to tip it over. As you can see in the pic, I cover the foam parts with microfiber cloth to protect the nitro finishes
Stable, does the job
Some people might think this is overkill, but I want to put my guitar on something stable and this does the job. Most of the others I'm afraid of them tipping over accidentally or the guitar falling off, which I've seen happen enough. Must be a matter of taste (or clumsiness) as I see lots of people with those paperweight type receivers that just sit on top of the guitar amp, guitar falls over if you look at it funny. That the locking mechanism engages automatically is a nice design point. I do wonder a bit (novice guitar player here) about hanging a guitar by the neck, but I assume if that was a problem they wouldn't sell.
Guitar Stand
Very sturdy guitar stand. It has a foam type grip where the neck of the guitar rest and holds in place. Furthermore it haves on the bottom the same foam that protects the body of the guitar so you don't have to worry about accidental scratches or hits on the actual instrument.
GREAT Stand!
I own 3 of these... all of which I purchased from Sweetwater. I have three Fender & Sadowsky Jazz basses and these work better than anything I've seen because of the asymmetric body shape. Fender has a kind of hokie stand but it's not nearly as sturdy as these. I highly recommend for ANY guitar/bass.
As always, Josh Hovis provided the GREAT customer service that Sweetwater is known for.
Hercules Stand
Best guitar stand I have ever owned, and I have many brands. This one is the only one that I will trust to keep my three Les Pauls safe. You cant get any better for ease of use or protection than the autolock system.
Great instrument stand for guitars, and mandolins.
I ordered this stand so I could have my guitar or mandolin more secured when not in use. I feel confident that it does what it is intended to do. It came with a bonus, a free carrying case, that made it a better purchase as I travel often with my instruments, and now this wonderful stand.
great stands
Sweetwater has the best customer followup.
Disappointing guitar stand
Reasonable engineering concept.
However the low quality materials appears to be the problem.
I had mine for four years until the plastic pieces started breaking off.
The first year of course the classic sticky melting pieces of plastic.
I tried to clean with soap and water to no avail.
Every time I picked up the stand I got sticky syrup on my hands very annoying.
Finally the height adjustment mechanism simply shattered. all of the plastic components just fragmented.
I will not buy another Hercules stand.
Does not work for a banjo
Stands don't get better than this
The stability, the padding, the locking fingers.... This is the perfect guitar stand.
Hercules Single Guitar stand
I have found all Hercules products to be well designed. After watching one of my guitars fall off a stand at a windy outdoor gig once I decided to invest in a higher quality stand. I have three Hercules stands now and find them secure in all conditions.
Hercules guitar stand.
My Hercules guitar stand is the best made......I have very expensive Martin guitars and I need to have a solid and safe guitar stand...
The reviews don't lie....
Had owned a few of these for a while, originally they are a great stand, especially convenient for stage use. However all the reviews that state that the plastic/rubber parts turn to a sticky mess are completely accurate. It's whatever chemical is in that plastic, after a while it starts to bleed out and the parts slowly disintegrate. I have to wonder about all the five-star reviews, people shouldn't jump to giving something a glowing review until they have spent a little time with it to see how it really is....
Great guitar stand
I bought this GS414B PLUS stand to use with my solid body guitars, currently for my Gibson SG. The stand is even better than I expected. With one hand, just lift the guitar and the arms securing it open automatically. This one-hand motion is a dream! I like it much better than the simple A-frame stands or the Fender stand that looks like the Hercules GS414B PLUS but isn't as robust or easy to use.
Solid Product
Very well built product. A bit more expensive than others but a better design and build quality.
A better idea
The benefit of this stand is that the body of the instruments is not bearing weight. The guitar is suspended securely at the headstock and the instrument is not sitting on its wooden body making it less likely to scratch or for the finish to have a reaction with any rubber or foam used to cradle an instrument in a traditional stand.
The securing mechanism works smoothly and effortlessly.
Couldn't Ask for a Better Stand
I got myself one of these along with 2 others with foldable yoke. GREAT investment!
started great but ended poorly
I really loved this stand for the first couple of years that I used it, but then the foam on the legs deteriorated, and eventually the neck position on the stand failed. I used the stand a lot, so the mechanical failure at the neck position could have been due to use, but the foam should not deteriorate.
Stand
Stand more stable than would have thought since using on carpeted floor. The auto grip is really nice and much less likely to be knocked or tipped over.
after a while rubber and plastic parts degrade...
becoming unpleasantly sticky. And the the plastic assembly becomes brittle and eventually breaks. No repair available.
So far so five star
Got fed up w worrying about my cheap stands toppling or scratching my guitars. This stand has an elegantly simple design that works perfectly. The automatic neck closure is awesome for one-handed lift outs. The contact points are padded with dense foam. The hardware seems sturdy and substantial, and the legs extend nicely, so I don't worry about the stand tipping at all. It's not light, which is great for home or studio use, but you may not want to haul it to gigs.
One caution to any fellow clutzs out there. When lifting the stand and guitar at the same time, don't grab the adjustment latch or you may find your guitar in free fall. Phew!
As always, thanks to Andy, my rep, for his patience and expertise!
Hercules Guitar Stand
No complaints whatsoever with this stand! I'm impressed with the sturdiness of the materials and the automatic tip protection built into it. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a floor stand for the stage or playing space.
Hercules guitar stands are great!
I was introduced to Hercules stands at a friend's house during band practice. I liked it so much I bought one. Since then I bought two more for our church musicians. It's easy to setup, easy to use and very sturdy.
Great stand
Great stand
Hercules GS414B Guitar Stand
This stand is very solid, it looks good and the grip/locking mechanism is quite clever. It only takes a moment to put together. I can't remember if it came with instructions but they certainly weren't necessary.
Best stand available...
I've been playing in bands for 40 years. I've gone through tons of guitar stands. I've probably left behind 50 stands at gigs over the years:(
That being said, the best stand by far for durability, safety and practicality is the Hercules stand. The fact that it's doesn't need to be disassembled, and it collapses into a straight line makes it very easy to schlep around for load-ins and load-outs. The traditional stand you have to remove the U shaped piece from the base to fit into a gig bag, this means it's awkward to transport and the parts often get lost or separated... also the foam tube thingys always fall off and get lost. The Hercules is well made and sturdy. Your guitar is much less likely to get knocked over.
Great gear
Ryan Mckowen and the team in sales over at Sweetwater always recommend and assist with just the right quality gear I need
I only use them now
Thanks
The Best
Quite literally the best guitar stand on the market. I use these for my guitars and my electric bass. They're sturdy and reliable and last a very long time. I have one that's over 20 years old and it's just as good as the day I bought it. Do they cost a little more? Yes. Is it worth it? I think so.
Hercules guitar stand
I have 4 professional grade guitars. I would not use any other stands. I have been using them for many years.
What’s the problem? Great stand
Older Herculese double stand.
Grab and Go Hercules stand
Great single guitar stand, simple, just grab the guitar and play
Bought one, had to have another
Great support, quick response from Sweetwater
Mostly like
I love the idea of these stands: the hanging guitar, and the stand releases it to you when you grasp it. The reason for four and not five stars: the tall tripod part feels solid and strong, but recently they did some sort of redesign to the interface between the main tripod part and the yoke up top that grabs the guitar. Said interface feels a little wobbly/rickety. It seems like they're maybe building these so the yoke could be swapped out for, say, a banjo grip or something. But I don't need that. It seems like earlier versions used to feel more solid and strong at that point.
Most excellent stand
Holds my baby's tight and secure. I love them ( I have two)
Really solid stand
Great stand, no complaints. It comes with adapters to support the smaller headstock of a Tele.
That "Sticky Goo" Prob...
Perfect
This is a great stand, secure space saving with minimal contact to the instrument. Got one for my Gretsch, bought another for my Taylor.
Exceeds expectations.
I have had so many aggravating stands through 50 years. Usually junk or just crap engineering.
This stand is solid. Top quality materials. Easy to use!!! Yes grab and go! No more guitar stuck in the lock or just flimsy all around.
This is 100% worth the price. My guitars are in place to stay but easily picked up.
I am a real player
67 years old. Not a bot.
Easy to set up, works perfectly
I gave this stand to my wife for Christmas and she loves it. Her Fender Jazz Bass stands securely in her practice room, ready at a moment's notice. Hard to beat Hercules quality!
Rugged, Reliable and Safe
Hercules guitar stands are top notch in design and quality of construction. You'll feel safe cradling your guitar in one of these with the passive restraining system that works from the weight of the guitar. Now they have added collars for small headstock guitars like Teles. Wherever your guitar touches the stand has soft material to reduce stand rash. I highly recommend.
THIS WORKS GREAT, HERCULES STANDS ARE TOP-SHELF!!
Fist off, thanks to my wonderful sales engineer Matt Alexander, when Matt makes a recommendation, I listen. Needed a good stand for a new bass, have Hercules Stands, but only for guitars. If you have never used one, you just place your guitar/bass in between the tabs, lower slightly, stand "grabs" your instrument, holds safe and secure, one hand operation, you gotta try one, worth the $$$ for sure.
As far as Matt, he has been my sales engineer for almost eight years, I can't say enough good things about him and I always count on Matt for wisdom and a fun conversation. And, SWEETWATER? Man, if you are reading this you already know!!
One great guitar stand
I love the autogrip hanger that securely holding my guitar. The stand itself is very stable. I love it.
SUPER STONG AND STURDY
If you are looking for a light weight stand this is not it. Its heavy and super sturdy. If you want something secure for your priceless guitar this is it. I hope I don't forget it at a gig.
Hercules and their auto self-distruct products
Just want to let you all know that although Hercules products seem well built and engineered, their products have a tendency of self-distructing after 10-15 years. Yes, the cheap quality plastic components they use will literally start to melt and fall apart. Lost over 4 stands because the adjusting handle just melted and broke off. It's like these products have a auto self-distruct mechanism hidden inside them. Save your money and buy the cheap stand that will last 10 times longer.
Good stand.
I'll trust this stand with any of my guitars.
Best Stands I've Owned, So Far...
Amp and guitar stand.
You can tilt back your amp to the stand and hang your guitar over it. Amazing!! And when you pick up the guitar the amp stays there.
Guitar stand is great
I was looking for a stand that would allow me to park my acoustic guitar while keeping it plugged in, and this is such a sturdy, well-made stand. It exceeds my expectations.
Stand
Great Bass guitar stand
Hercules stand
Best in the land.
Guitar Stand Review
I just needed a stand, so sent an email to Loui and told him what kind of axe (Gibson Thunderbird). He recommended the Hercules because it's compatible with Gibson finishes and peculiar body shape. I use the supplied pieces for ukes and the bass fits like a glove.
Great stand
The Hercules stand is absolutely the bass players dream. Holds the instrument well, never leans or has an issue like stands.
I recommend it to anyone playing bass or smaller instruments!

Guitar stand
Built well and the service was great
Stand(s) and Delivers
Nothing worse than putting your guitar on a stand then staring at it for about 10 seconds, making sure it's NOT about to fall over.... That all goes away with the Hercules GS414B PLUS. Super stable, super easy to setup & "break down". The Auto Grip System works great on all levels. Works great with just about every style of guitars & basses. Highly, highly recommend
Great product!
I love the heavy duty construction of this stand and the way it securely holds my guitars as opposed to conventional, cheaply made stands.
Typical great Hercules performance
This guitar stand gives me a lot better piece of mind. While still being portable, it's way more sturdy than some other stands. I've known about Hercules for a while. My sons are musicians and use Hercules.
Hercules for the win!
Excellent stand. We use it for a Hofner bass guitar. The build is solid and the auto grip is reliable for keeping your instrument snug and safe. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a durable and long-lasting guitar stand!
Hercules stands flaws
I have two of these stands and the rubber has become sticky on both of them.
Also, the locking button slips.
I posted this negative review not long ago. It has been removed.
Fits any size guitar/bass
Solid and reliable
Hands down the most stable stand you'll find. Works great for acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and banjo.
Great stand for guitar or bass
These are high-quality and dependable stands. The only stand I trust to hang my guitars and bass off of.
Best stand there is!
I have several stands and this one hands down is the best. Protects your investment efficiently and perfectly. Simple to use. Don't look any further.
If you need a guitar stand, you need THIS stand!
Having a cord coming out from the end pin jack means I needed a stand to hold my guitar higher off the floor to keep it stable. This stand does just that. I don't have any instrument cables with an "L" shaped jack, so my guitar's weight was directly on the straight jack and the internal jack mechanism which worried me. This stand holds my guitar far off the floor so there is no longer any weight on that point. Additionally, this is an incredibly stable stand so bumping into it on a crowded stage won't send my guitar crashing to the ground.
This is the best stand I've ever owned.
The only stand I use
This is by far the best guitar stand I have ever used. Very stable, supports guitar with no damage or pressure points. Love the quick release arms . Works great and is kind of fun to use. Very well made. A very good value for the money.
Super strong
I didn't think it would be this strong. Holds my bass great and any guitar I have. Very secure. Would recommend for guitar on stage.
Guitar stand
Overall the stand is stable and holds a medium weight solid body Bass/guitar well. It is also well suited for my acoustic guitar. It is a little tough to get folded for storage and travel thus the 4 star rating. Otherwise it is a great investment.
My 6 String has a home
One of the Problems with guitar stands like this is they don't come wide enough to accommodate my 6-string bass. This one does, which is why I gave it 5 stars. I can get my bass in and out without fighting or juxtaposing. I highly recommend this as well as the wall hanger that they make.
Love it
Looks good, works perfectly, and takes any guitar effortlessly. Just need a few more now.
Best Guitar Stand, IMHO
I have three of these Hercules guitar stands, and they are great. Very stable and simple to use. Very portable, too, of course, and super well made.
My Favorite
Had many stands over the years None so far I have liked better. Time will tell
Heavy duty
This stand is made with excellent quality, the robustness of the material is notorious compared to others (I have other fender stands) and the locking system is perfect, I definitely recommend this brand and I will continue buying
A stand is a stand is a stand... right? (Nope!)
There are stands of all sorts, most of which have you set your instruments down onto it. This HERCULES is genius as it works like a wall hanger, so the bottom of your instrument floats freely, not 'sitting' on anything at all. Simple and perfect. Especially for an oddly shaped axe, like my circa 2000 Fernandes Vertigo, as shown here.
Great Guitar Stand
Well designed, well made, sturdy and very stable guitar stand! You could find a stand that costs more but not a stand that does a better job. The Hercules GS414B is as good as it gets. I would buy it again and highly recommend it if you are looking for a great single guitar stand!
Best
This is the best guitar stand I've ever owned.
A great stand
These Hercules stands are great. Much more secure and stable than a "regular" guitar stand. I'm currently using mine for a 4 string bass. For me it's worth the cost of securing my instruments.
Guitar stand
Very happy with the new guitar stand---solid and well built---
Good one
These are good stands.
Best Guitar Stand
Best stand I've ever had.
Excellent
The Hercules single guitar stand is well-made and the auto closure feature is a very nice touch. Buy with confidence.
Heavy Duty Quality Stand
This stand is extremely solid! High Quality material and a super sleek cool look. I use it for on stage use in the worship ministry at my church. I would highly recommend this stand to anyone pay the extra buck and get this!
Hercules Stands GS414B
Well built and functional - exactly what I expected. Customer service was great!
protect your baby
Nothing worse then a weak guitar stand. You come home and your guitar is laying on the floor broke.. The Hercules is a solid well buit stand. Spend a little more and get the piece of mind you deserve
Very Nice
After using traditional guitar stands for years I can say this is the best I've tried.
It is very stable. The opening-closing neck holder makes mounting so easy.
I ended up buying two of them.
Awesome Guitar Stand
It's one of my staples on stage now
Banjo stand??
These are great stands. Very stable. I'm getting ready to order a 3rd stand. However, I'm a grasser and, although these stands come with a second set of "thicker" grommets for skinnier necks, they're still not big enough to compensate for the narrow banjo neck. When I set my banjo in the stand it the 1st and 4th pegs sit on the stand and the stand knocks the banjo out of tune (please, no banjo out of tune jokes here). :) Does anyone else you one of these stands for the banjo and come up with a "fix" for this problem? Otherwise, I love this stand and will order a 3rd stand. I switch between banjo, dobro, and my D-28 for a couple of show tunes, given the height you set these stands, it makes it easy to switch between instruments while the mandolin or fiddle perform.
Great Guitar Stands
I recently purchased 10 Hercules GS414B stands. Very well built, accommodates most every guitar or base. The self locking/ release
feature is very good. The grips hold the instrument in place securely. Derek S , my Sweetwater guru, recommended these. I collect
guitars, ran out of wall display space, so these display a few Gibson's in a prominent place.
Sweetwater ROCKS...
Best Guitar/Bass Stand
Our band has used these stands for years, on the road and in our studio with zero failures. This is the only stand you can trust.
Great stand and would purchase another
Works great and easy to use. The weight of the guitar engages the locking mechanism and lifting the guitar releases it. What I like about this is that I can put my guitar into it, or take it out of the stand with one hand and never worry about doing it wrong or having the stand not lock the guitar in place when I let go of it. Other G stands I've used in the past needed an extra step to hook the rubber loop to lock it in place. I use this for bass and guitar.
Like an assistant
I love this thing. It's like someone sitting there waiting to hand me my guitar or take it when I'm done playing it. After fiddling with other types, especially those that use a 'rubber band' to keep your instrument safe, this stand is a breath of fresh air. Yes, I know it's just a guitar stand, but trust me, if you've only had 'lesser' stands, once you buy one of these, you won't want to go back.
Worth it!
I own two of these and I'll gradually replace the other stands that I have. You might think these stands are too expensive. Just remember, you get what you pay for! The best thing about this stand is that it doesn't have the wishbone at the bottom. That thing always seems to tangle with the cable. This is really handy for live gigs. Just grab your guitar and go! I do a solo gig with six and twelve string guitars and an A/B selector switch. No more tangles and no danger of tipping over the other guitar. Also very stable, very adjustable and folds nicely. Buy one!
Little things
Let's face it, it's a stand. But it feels like I'm actually handing my guitar to someone who's not gonna drop it when I use this stand. Worth the money, if nothing else just to get rid of that uneasy feeling I get when using one of those old or cheap less than stable stands. Also, when the stand hands the guitar back it doesn't hold on to the strap!
Awful Awful Awful
This stand will break down because the plastic parts are made with some kind of oil that disintegrates over time. I had mine for about four years and really liked it until it just came apart one day. It was covered in this strange sticky oil. The plastic is from like china or something and it is unstable. If you look online you will find other stories like this. I am not exagerating folks. It blew me away when it happened. It was holding a very old guitar and it just let the guitar slide to the ground. The guitar stood up still simply because it was leaning on the fork holder. NOT TO BE TRUSTED.
Hercules guitar stand
This guitar stand is easy to set up, reliable and s trusted product for holding treasured instrument.
I would absolutely purchase again.
Highly recommend!
Hercules Floor Stands for Guitars
I have several Fender Telecasters. Because of their thin necks many floor stands just won't securely hold the guitars. I had purchased several Hercules wall stands that have the "Auto Grip" system and they worked so well I purchased a couple of the Hercules GS414B PLUS Single Guitar Stand with the same type of "Auto Grip" System. Voila - problem solved for my Teles, ukes, and any other thin-necked string instruments. Additionally, these stands are so well balanced I can imagine the stands would tip over unless someone fell into it. Get some, these are great,
Best stand, hands down
I've had just about every stand available (including custom stands, hangers, etc.) and nothing is as sturdy, effective and gentle for guitars, basses, etc. that these Hercules stands. I've had nitro-finished instruments hanging in them, full time, for more than 2 years with no visible effect on the finish. These are the only ones I've been able to use for nitro finishes - so far, so good.
Highly recommended. Yes they're a bit pricey, but this is professional grade equipment - and very kid-proof. Heck I've plowed into mine in the middle of the night, knocked the guitar all around but the thing stayed secure in the stand and the stand never came close to falling over. It uses the guitar's own weight (and its vert stable case) in its favor. SUPER secure and stable.
My second one of these
I got the first one as a gift and then bought a second for myself. A little pricey but worth it. The quick release and general stability make these stands the most useful I have had, and I have had a few.
The best guitar stand
This is the only stand I use where I do not have to worry about my guitar falling off and cracking the neck.
I do recommend it to protect your guitar always,
Best guitar stand
Was very pleased with this stand. Arrived quickly in great condition.
Best stand hands down
I have bought several different guitar stand brands and this stand by far is the best. Don't waste your time with any other brand just get this one now.
The best stand ever
This is no different ((except the design)) from my other Hercules Stand. I have three now a double, and two singles and they been great over the years I own them. A must buy for any Bass or guitar.
hercules GS414B PLUS stand review
was using lean into stands with a cradle at the bottom before. for the price I just expected it to be heftier than they usually were.
and INDEED it was. it's twice as tall as the neck doesn't lean into it as it has no cradle. it hangs down and the body leans against foam padded legs.
no more tabs to secure it or loosen it, the hanging it down makes the levers that hold it in place come up. hang and go, grab and play. simple.
a go to stand for me from now on. I can't see any reason at all to go back. I LOVE this thing.
Hands Down the Best
Now, what will I do with the other three guitar stands I've bought over the years? This Hercules is hands down the best guitar stand on the market. I use it on a Taylor Grand Pacific and a Gibson J200 and J35. It hold all three w/o any problems.
You won't be disappointed with this stand.
The only negative is that it was supposed to come with a free pick holder. It didn't. Probably an oversight from Sweetwater.
Excellent product
The hercules guitar stand is an excellent guitar stand. Very stable.
I received my stand 2 days after I ordered it.
Thank you sweetwater.
SWEETWATER!
Every thing I have ordered from Sweetwater has been GREAT. With my inexperience in music I have really appreciated the service, shipping and receipt time has been phenominal, and Cameron has been a real jewel is helping me. In fact, I have only talked, emailed, and seen his picture for a few months but I look on him as a friend. The best present I think I have ever had was when Sweetwater was recommended to me and my first was contact was Cameron. I am 74 years old, with absolutely -0- musical experience and the bass and Sweetwater has been my silver lining in this pandemeic cloud. Thank you Sweetwater.
Hercules stand
Awesome guitar stand
Number one
I've always used the cheaper guitar stands and finally decided to get one of the higher end ones boy what a difference I would definitely recommend this for anybody that has a guitar they care about when your guitar is in the stand it definitely isn't going to fall and it's so much easier getting it in and out this is the only stand I'll ever buy again and it works great for pointy guitars
Nice Stand
Hercules seems to be the only company I can find that will make a stand for an odd-shaped guitar such as a V, Explorer and so forth. This is the 3rd Hercules stand I've purchased and all three are currently being used. They're not the cheapest, but they're sturdy and so far all have been worth the money. At this time I would buy another if needed.
I'll also say it was nice that Sweetwater had these as the local don't-wanna-say-names big-box central place for guitars didn't have these in stock. And to be honest, it was worth shipping and waiting to avoid going into the centrally located big-box place for guitars and what you go through just go inside and simply look around during this time of nuttiness in the world.
The "Stand"-ard
The price might seem high when you can buy stands starting at like $12 bucks but thats exactly what they are worth almost nothing. The hercules stand is the only single guitar stand I trust. Don't risk the life of your guitar or bass do yourself and your instrument a favor and buy this stand.

Sturdy
I'm not scared to put my les Paul on a stand anymore, thanks to this.
Sturdy & Safe
This stand is a little on the pricy side but you can't beat the stability and security it provides for that pricy instrument you worked so hard to get. Very well built and ingenious automatic locking fingers. Yes, expensive but I'm going to buy more. Great job Hercules!!
great stand
I tripped over my guitar strap and knocked it off its stand. The stand was one with a plasticy rubbery strip you could pull and stretch over the guitar neck to hold it in place. I almost never did that because then you'd have to unstrap it later on.
I caught the guitar. And I found THIS stand instead. It auto-locks the head in place. And it is generally more stable.
Best stand ever.
Heavy duty stable
My Firebird hangs solid and safe on this. Well designed.
Best stand x2
This is the second stand of this type I've purchased and am not disappointed. It will literally adjust to fit almost any guitar or bass.
Excellent value for quality and peace of mind
Top quality
As always Hercules delivers. I have several of their stands and they are all excellent. That's what prompted the purchase of this one. It is well-made and sturdy. In terms of value it is an excellent buy. If you use the stand for a $1000 or $2000 for a $3000 instrument, it needs to be stable to protect your investment. I imagine that the only place the stand would not be stable would be during an active earthquake. Highly recommended. Also need to mention that Sweetwater delivers very quickly with just a phone call. Thank you Wayne Wildman!
What can I say? Hercules is the best!
I picked this up to replace a failing guitar stand at my church. I've used Hercules products before, and this one was no different than what I already had experienced: one of the best, most secure stand brands out there.
Works great
This stand is very well built, and light. It also folds up nicely for travel and is easy to set up. I really like the headstock lock, just hang it in and it will keep your guitar in place.
Ignore the negative reviews Hercules stands by their products
I stand corrected I had an issue with one of their Stands They responded quickly with a logical explanation and replaced item I had to provide photos and a receipt But they were very quick to resolve the situation I am totally satisfied Their products are some of the best on the market and there stands cannot be beat Professional grade top of the line all the way thank you Hercules

Hercules Stands
Looks like they have improved. Better than my older stands
A sticky mess
I had 3 of them but they a have all started to melt Never seen anything like it read these reviews It's 100% true they melt right before your eyes I'm kind of worried about what chemicals Honestly I would like some kind of answer from the company Not just the fact that I spent a lot of money on a product that falls apart Is there any health issues with the chemicals used that are disintegrating all over my floor and my hands
Sturdy stand
Never bought a Hercules product before. I was impressed with the materials and design. I'm just using it at home, so it will be more than durable enough for my needs. Quite possibly the last guitar stand I will ever buy.
Great Design but doesn't last
I like the design, easy to use, portable, and enables quick guitar changes. Unfortunately it doesn't last. I gig about once a month (no touring). The latches on both my stands broke and the rubber parts on the stand shaft are deteriorating into a sticky goo.
To improve this product you would need to make it more durable and use better rubber.
guitar stand
I have a couple of these by Hercules and they work very well and secure my instruments.
Banjo - need clamp adjusters for smaller neck
I very much appreciate Hercules products -- very well made, but I cannot find the adjusters that are made that will make the neck holder narrow enough to hold an expensive banjo (these things weigh 16 lbs)... can you help? So far, I can only put my guitars on the stand and sometimes a mandolin.
Not for me
This stand will not grip my classical guitar or my Gibson L6s. One has a neck that is too big. One has a neck that is too small. A competitor recommended this and against my better judgement got it. Luckily they didn't charge me for it, not to rectify the situation but because I had cancelled them from the order.
Great stand
I have a variety of stands that I use, and this one tops them all. Extremely stable and the unique locking mechanism keeps the guitar from accidentally being knocked off. Worth the price!
Sweetwater & Cameron are GREAT!
I acquired 1 for myself and later 2 more for others and we all think these stands are fabulous.
Guitar stand
Nothing says play me than a bass guitar setting out on a stand in a room. Much to be said about out of sight out of mind. It seems crazy but just not having to take it out of the case is 1 step closer to jamming.
hercules stands
only stands i ever buy !
Hercules guitar stand
Awesome stand for my new guitar. Well constructed and built to last. Thanks Stephen for the guidance in this purchase. Money well spent.
Stay Away!!!
These stands have a chemical flaw in the grip. After a few years, the grip will oxidize, turn into goo and fail. Real design problem.
Flying V?
It isn't advertised as such, but we took a chance and this one nailed it. Anyone with a Flying V knows, the average stand is sloppy, wobbly, and not very safe for that guitar shape. Without the washers, and adjusted up, this keeps the V off the floor, and STABLE. For once, I'm not afraid to walk away from it. Not the lowest price, but it's a bit more specialized. If ya need a stand for a V -- this is it.
Great Stands and Customer Service at Hercules
I’ve had different models of Hercules stands for many years and they’ve always been excellent. I too had problems with the plastic degrading over time. I sent the US distributor an email and they got right back to me with instructions for getting replacements at absolutely no cost to me (seems they have a warranty that Hercules stands behind). The stands and replacement parts are ‘in the mail’ and Melissa the customer service person I exchanged emails with was over the top helpful. I hope this helps out!
Genius guitar stand
This is what I have dreamed of ina guitar stand - secure and very easy to use. Such a simple but effective design. I highly recommend it!!
Guitar Stand
Easy to carry around. And its alot more stable then others. Guarantee your in the Instrument won't fall out. I would recommend it.
Great stand!
This stand is as solid as a rock.
Well built!
Great stand! Well built and does what it’s supposed to do. The mechanism that secures the neck of your guitar when placed in the stand works smoothly and seems very robust. The stand is also nicely weighted.
An early reviewer mentioned that some of the rubberized parts on his stand developed a sticky feel to them after a period of time. I had an older stand that developed this same issue after a few years of use. I believe Hercules has rectified this issue though as the 2 new stands I purchased don’t seem to use that same rubbery material.
Keep Your Guitar Safe!
Well-constructed, professional guitar stand. This is the second one I have bought Love them, for sure. Will not injure your guitar's finish.
Great stand!
Well worth the money! Great design, sturdy and well built. I will be getting another one soon.
B
Great Stand
It is amazing and at a good price. It grips all my guitars and with the foam on the bottom I do not worry about damage to my axes. It holds them snug and is easily adjustable.
Perfection for the last ten years.
There are some reviewers here that state that they have used this strand for five years and the plastic parts became sticky and gummy and that the stand completely fell apart. I have owned this same model of stand for ten years. Nothing on the stand has become gooy or sticky and I still use the stand every day to support any of several guitars. The stand still looks new. It still functions like new and there has never been a hint of any problem. I simply do not believe these negative reviews and I believe that these are real and accurate accounts. Hercules stands are the best. They do not fail and they will not mar a lacquer finish. I have also used their wall hangers for years with never a failure or any part.
Second One
I bought the first one of these at a Guitarget near me for my first guitar (an acoustic) and like it so much I ordered a second one from Sweetwater for my second guitar (an electric). I love the auto-grip system and the sturdiness of this stand. Assembly and height adjustment are super easy. Overall quality is excellent.
Strong as Hercules!
Hercules stands and hangers are the best available today, in my opinion. I was sad that I could purchase hangers and stands for my guitars, but not for my banjos... Well, be sad no more! Thanks to NINA (the narrow neck instrument adapter), so-equipped Hercules stands and hangers can be used on banjos, mandolins, and other thin-necked instruments. I appreciate the Auto Grip System because it protects my valuable instruments from accidental damage. These are a must if you have little children playing near your instruments!
Versatile Stand
No matter the shape of guitar or the weight, this stand will support it completely, even in an earthquake
Great Stand!
The Hercules stand is sturdy and holds the guitar steady in its place. The stand is really good for quick guitar switches if you are on stage or rehearsing.
Guitar stand
I find them to be great the strap will not get tangled the Jack will not hit the ground everything I need for a guitar stand
Nice quality stand
Fits my tele just right. I love that the guitar hangs by the headstock rather than resting against the neck. This seems more stable and less likely for the guitar to be knocked off the stand if it should be bumped.
Short term only.
I spent a fortune buying several of these stands because I really liked them. Five years later, the molecular structure of the rubber went... Sticky mess. Didn"t foresee that happening at all.
Loved it for a few years
I've had two of these stands for about 5 yrs. Seldom and very gently used for $1-5K guitars.
Yesterday I adjusted the height and the whole unit crumbled, the control mechanism just fell apart.
Another issue is the rubber controller became sticky but I could live with that.
I'm glad my Les Pauls or strats were into on it at the time.
Strong and Well Built
After having used some other hanging guitar stands, I just bought another Hercules and will look no further. The other stand's locking mechanism lost grip and it will no longer hold a guitar. The Hercules mechanical locking will never do that. It is a little heavier but well worth it.
I find hanging stands far superior to other stands - not only in how safely they hold a guitar, but also in the ease of use for hanging and retrieving the guitar/bass.
Herculese stands
Best that I have ever used,,, This one was a gift for a friend but I have five more that I use everywhere.
The best you can buy
Not sure what others are talking about with the plastic deteriorating and falling apart. We use these exclusively at our church and they take a beating, but I have not seen any with sticky peeled off rubber. I bought mine well over 4 years ago and its in perfect shape. I've never had it fall over...I don't even know how it would unless you were abusing your gear. If there was any gear that could take the abuse...it is definitely these. About to buy another one of theses...I have 10 of the wall hangers as well.
INDUSTRY STANDARD
You can trust your most vintage instrument to this stand, whether cats, dogs or even unruly children invade your music space....or unruly patrons storm the stage. WORTH IT!!
Hurcules guitar stands
Excellent product for all guitarists strong and protective for your instrument highly recommended by me!!
Hercules Stand GS414B
Just what I was looking for. (Incidentally, I've become a serious Miles fan.)
Rubber, plastic deteriorated to gummy mess
Owned two of these stands. After 5 plus years all the rubber plastic parts turned to gummy mess that could not be cleaned or corrected.
Both went into the trash.
For the price the material used should last decades.
Perfect heavy duty stand
Of you have guitar that you value highly, get the Hercules stand and will never be in risk of falling over. Protect your equipment and your little babies the same. Buy It now
Hercules Guitar Stand with Auto Grip System
Outstanding
They don't last
I bought 5 of them in 2009. Not only did every one of them crumble at the adjustment, the plastic became all sticky to the point you need a solvent to remove the residue from your hands.
...it isn't worth it. Great stand in concept, horrible in the critical materials area.
Maybe they will change the design, but I don't want another 5 of them to crumble after those fail too.
it will fall apart on you!
I've owned this stand for over 5 years. It's never been knocked over or abused in any way. Last night while moving my 3 guitar stand in place of this one I'd lifted the stand with no guitar on it and the locking mechanism that holds the top to the base came/ broke apart. Also, the rubber piece surrounding that locking arm was sticky to the touch and wouldn't even wash off of my hands! I have no idea what that's All about. I will never buy another one again.
Hercules guitar stand
I loved the stands (I've bought 2) when I first got them. Perfect for stage and home, but not long after using them, the rubber or plastic height adjuster part began to get sticky. Today one of them broke completely off! I really thought they would last longer, seemed pretty well made, but its like they are disintegrating??
Hercules Stand
This stand is so convenient, either putting your guitar in it or taking it out. The back leg is a little shorter causing the stand to lean back slightly which improves its stability. Onstage it's very fast and easy to switch out guitars and it folds up neatly for packing. I highly recommend this stand.
Hercules guitar stand
Functionally the gutarvstand is okay. However, when the stand falls over ( and it will) the curved plastic on the hanging neck is very brittle and it will break up on impact. And, there's no place that you can order replacement parts for it. So if it breaks too bad buy another one. I had one break and chipping and I've had to fall over on stage.
