Unbelievable guitar for price. I got it because I play professionally outdoors very often in south Florida. Playing in the hot sun and never knowing when it's gonna rain, I often sweat all over pickups. My two most expensive guitars aren't going to be subjected to the elements anymore. This guitar plays well enough. I have to turn volume up a little on my pedal board compared to my other guitars, but at least I'm not getting feedback. I might get another one as a backup.

I'm so LOVE THIS GUITAR!! I HAVE HELD 9NE AND IT MELTED INTO MY BODY! THATS HOW TRUE THIS GUITAR FITS AND FEELS IM IN LOVE!
Nice guitar
Very nice guitar. I was surprised in the craftsmanship and quality. Quality built and plays very nice.
I love my Ibanez
Not only was the shipping quick, but when I unboxed everything I about cried at how beautiful the guitar and amp were. I never would have believed I would make such a move being that not only am I older (aw, heck, just look at Jagger among others) but am also disabled. Well, my heart isn't disabled and it wants to play metal. Metallica and Kirk Hammett here I come! I am still waiting to get the setup done but even if I have to wait a bit to really get started, I am SOOO happy.
Steve, thank you so much for your excellent service. I'll be back for my guitar case at some point. Thanks again!
Great
My first electric guitar and it is playing perfectly for me, I can get many types of tones from it.
A great guitar at a great price.
This was a surprisingly good guitar, especially for the money. I spotted it when browsing some of the higher end guitars, looking to see what was out there with a quilted maple top. This lovely little Gio popped up in the search and immediately caught my eye, thanks to its deep blue color. The price was right so I ordered it. I figured worse case I had another cheap guitar to use as a baseline for a project, or to give to my kids down the road.
Shipping took about five days and it arrived along with another box of miscellaneous guitar stuff.
Looks:
When I opened the box I was surprised. The finish is excellent, and the blue not only had a little purple integrated into the outer edge of the burst, which makes the color pop. The finish itself has a good gloss and has some depth to it. Not as much as a $3500 Gibson, but more than enough to highlight the quilted maple's grain. The finish is much better than I've seen on Epiphones or Squire's at two or three times the price. The chrome hardware and knobs look good, like tehy have a better quality chrome finish than a lot of the cheaper hardware. It's a good looking guitar, especially so for a $ guitar. The fretboard is a little light colored for my tastes but that's really a non-issue and just me being nitpicky. It's really a beautiful guitar, especially at this price point.
Feel:
Once tuned, initial set up was spot on, with proper action and intonation. The body shape echoes a start and has the backside reliefs that make this shape so comfortable to play. The neck is a comfortable depth and width for my big hands. The maple is perfect and smooth, with a satin back that allows for effortless movement up and down the neck. The tuners are quite smooth, which is not always the case with low end guitars. Overall, the guitar feels better than some significantly more expensive guitars.
Sound, unplugged:
I always play a new to me electric while it's unplugged to see and hear how it behaves without any quirks of the pickups or other electrics. This guitar shows good basic sustain, and a fairly bright tone. It's got more sound than I'd expect for an unplugged solid body electric. Tuning is stable, even when you hammer the tremelo.
Sound, plugged in:
Here's where this guitar really shines. The HSH configuration is routed through a five position switch, like most modern 3 pickup start type guitars, with a single volume and tone knob. The knobs are metal and unindexed (no numbers), if that matters to you. I have guitars with both indexed and unindexed knobs so it doesn't matter much to me. The pickups are excellent. The humbuckers are punchy and the middle single pickup has a brightness that works well in combo with the buckers, particularly when you run the front and the neck together. The tone knob is surprisingly effective and doesn't get too muddy when turned all the way down. The other end of the spectrum has a brightness that helps the single center pickup sound like a classic Strat. The rear humbucker with the tone up all the way has an almost country twang, and drops into a nice jazzy sounds as you drop the tone. Those are just a couple prominent examples; this really is a do it all guitar. It's versatile enough to cover almost any style of music, which is astounding for a lower end guitar. Most of the lower end guitars seem to favor one style or another, which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, but makes some of them single purpose tools.
Overall:
This Gio is a steal. It's a do it all. Blues, jazz, country, rock, metal, you name it. I've even played Malagueña on it. Whatever you want to play, this guitar will do it and do it well. If you're on a budget, this is the guitar for you.
Budget guitar that really feels great . Versatile sound .
Was waiting on this to be in stock. It was worth the wait. Neck, frets, and profile feel great. I like a flat radius , since I'm used to classical guitars. Pickups are really versatile and I especially like the single coil and neck humbuckers. So many different possibilities. Tweaked the action a bit . The tremolo bar works, but not my thing . Well balanced guitar since I play sitting. The blue color is eye candy. Better than most other bolt on neck guitars in this price range.
How good are you?
The most expensive Fender and Gibson guitars is what every guitarist seeks. It is more of a marketing thing. What is the difference between them and a low cost Gio? Your talent.Ibanez doesn't skip quality from their lowest to highest cost guitars and are very serious about music. If you are starting out how to play a guitar the Ibanez Gio is perfect. As your talents improves later on buying a Fender or a Gibson you will will wonder what the heck was the difference? That is how Ibanez got you started.

Absolutely amazing
This is a very solid guitar, good sound quality, beautiful body, the neck is easy to navigate, and you just can't beat the price.
Great budget guitar
Bought this guitar for my brother as a gift. It came on time and was packaged great. The guitar was great right out the box, just needed slight adjustments and tuned up. Plays beautifully. Great profile neck, can definitely shred on this guitar! Such a great budget guitar almost didn't want to give it to my brother lol. Sweetwater did an amazing job answering any questions or concerns I had! Great costumer service.
Great guitar for the money
Pros: great finish. Solid feel. Great feel to the electronics and knows, not cheap feeling. Great neck and action once adjusted. Great sound from humbucker and nice bubbly clear tone from bridge pickup. Nice jumbo feeling frets. Intonation spot on.
Cons: terrible setup out of the box. Super high action. No need for it, after adjustment the neck handles low action with no troubles.
Better than where it is priced.
I got this for a project. With the HSH configuration I was able to give it 24 pickup variations. Overall build quality was above par for a guitar in this price range. I deducted one star for the pickups. Pretty MEH but there again it is a budget guitar. Now that the work is done it is definitely a keeper. Besides, my Wife loves the blue quilt so I couldn't sell it even if I wanted to. ;-)
