Just buy one
I have been a professional drummer (I actually got paid to play in clubs for a few years) and a lousy guitar player. Due to guitar envy, and just a love for the wood work, I have a VERY LARGE collection of guitars (250+). The Ibanez GRX20 sits at the top of about 5 low cost, double hum guitars that I have played over the past 30 years. You will like this low cost guitar, and it will not break the bank if someone steals it, or it gets trashed. The humbuckers have a good output/sound, but are easy to upgrade (if you want), the neck is fast, the fret work is amazing, with zero rash, and the tuners hold like they should. The ONLY thing I would wish for, is that Ibanez would bring back the GRX20MB so I could buy a couple more, as this was the nicest blue I have ever seen on a guitar.

Great starter guitar
I was looking for something inexpensive but playable for a gift. The recipient loved Ibanez, so I bought this guitar for him. I was amazed at the nice quality and playability for the price! He was thrilled!
Don't let the cheap price scare you. It's fantastic for the price.
As a complete newbie to the guitar, I bought this to learn and to do some simple recordings I needed for a few of my tracks.
Granted, my review comes as an inexperienced user. But I can tell you this. The sound is great, the quality is solid. I have it going into a UAD Apollo twin, Ableton and NI's guitar rig. I literally was able to produce the sound I was hoping for.
I highly recommend this for anyone who is starting out, and even those that are experienced but need a 'budget' guitar.
If there's ANY negative thing I would add, and it's splitting hairs is the knobs seem a bit cheap (but they work perfectly, no noise, nothing). But you wouldn't expect much more at this price.
I have learned to play a lot better over the last few weeks. I even did live streaming as I played on my Youtube and Twitch channels. So in my opinion it was a fantastic decision to buy this. Thanks to Jacob at Sweetwater for recommending this one.

This is the best cheap guitar on the market. After an easy setup mine now has low action, no dead spots and no sharp fret ends. I did nothing to the frets, just straightened the neck and lowered the bridge a little. Plays like a dream. My only caveat was the pickups and the 5way switch. I swapped them for Alnico 2 humbuckers and a 3way switch with full size pots. This is the first guitar I pick up in the morning and the last guitar I set down at night. I love the 12"radius fret board and what I call a Dinky body shape. Yes, I have about 5300 in it now but I would play this guitar anywhere, anytime and any gig.

I have been playing guitar for 30 years. For some reason I had never played an ibanez. After much research and advice from sweetwater I decided to purchase my grx. Black night 4 months ago. I am now disabled and needed a guitar and live in a very tight budget. After 4 months I simply have this to say. My black night is by far hands down the best guitar I have ever played. Everyone has their opinions I'm sure, however, this is my favorite, best playing, most comfortable, best sounding guitar I have ever owned. I am now an IBANEZ guy. Lol. Thank you sweetwater and ibanez. For $... I expected an ok guitar. Not my favorite guitar I have ever had. Absolutely stunned. Just stunned.
Ibanez GIO Series GRX20Z
I've only been playing for just over a year now and by no means am I a master guitarist. I bought this guitar to keep at my office to practice in my down time. It was delivered a day early and set up perfectly right out of the box. I played with it for approximately 2 hours. I played a little bit of everything on it (country, rock, and metal). For $... you can't go wrong with this guitar. I LOVE IT. Best $... I've ever spent on a guitar. I would definately recommend this guitar to a friend and would be perfect for a beginner. Ibanez GRX20Z
Received the guitar this morning and it is a very nice guitar. I asked a question about the setup of the guitar when I purchased online and the sound engineer called me the next morning and assured me that all of their guitars are set up and ready to go when delivered. He was correct. I bought the Demo for $135 and for the quality I could not ask for a better guitar. It sounds great, plays great and looks great! I could have bought a more expensive guitar but why when I got this one for 135. Excellent customer service Sweetwater again!!!!!

How is this even this cheap?!?
I bought this because my other dirt-cheap guitar that I had setup for C standard was terrible. We're talking it came shipped with a warped neck, little to no sustain, etc. So I sold that one and bought this Ibanez. How this guitar is the same price as other cheaper guitars and is actually very good is beyond me! To be honest the only signs that this is a cheap guitar is that the body is lighter, and the stock pickups aren't the best. But other than that, the neck is perfect for me and my playing style. Smooth, no sharp fret edges on mine, much better sustain, etc. I block off all of my tremolos though so I can't say how well it stays in tune when using it.
Obviously it's no Ibanez prestige, but for the price... highly recommended!

Great guitar. It needed minimal tweaking to play. Stays in tune easily. I seriously enjoy playing this thing! I have a LP and I like how much lighter this one is. Great joy to play.

Since I'm not a guitar player and only Sing and my son is a beginner it's hard to give a professional opinion but, as a singer when I hear the guitar from another part of the house, it sounds smooth and sweet.
