Ibanez GIO GRGR221PA Electric Guitar - Aqua Burst Reviews

6-string Electric Guitar with Okoume Body, Poplar Art Grain, Maple Neck, Purpleheart Fingerboard, and 2 Humbucking Pickups - Aqua Burst

If the Ibanez GIO GRGR221PA's poplar burl Art Grain top doesn't bowl you over the first time you pick it up, the sonic heat it generates certainly will. This stunning solidbody's okoume body (a popular mahogany alternative) remains comfortable and resonant when rockin' all-nighters onstage, while its burl top and glassy polyurethane finish really punch up the visuals for in-person appearances. On deck, you'll find a pair of ceramic-magnet IBZ-6 hum bucker pickups and a versatile 5-way pickup selector that make it easy to dial in a variety of modern sounds — from chimey cleans to mean distortion. The GRGR221PA sports a hardtail bridge for maximum tuning stability, a fast-action maple neck with an elegant bound purpleheart fingerboard, and 24 jumbo frets for the kind of effortless shredding that helped put Ibanez on the metal map. White sharktooth inlays top off the package. Whether you're just starting out or you're looking for another guitar for your arsenal, you get a whole lot of value with the Ibanez GIO GRGR221PA.

I had to wait to get this beautiful guitar but it was worth the wait
I absolutely love the color all my guitars are either black or white this one stands out the neck is sweet, it feels very smooth the pickups are very nice but I might change the bridge for a more powerful one what's cool is the 5 position switch that splits the coils it's lightweight so your neck won't ache from a 5 hour gig. What's most shocking is the price for the Quality I think you'd pay a lot more for a guitar like this inside love it.

Good guitar

I really like the guitar everything on it is Really great other than the 2 cons

Fretboard.....The fretboard was better than my other gio but make sure to REALLY clean this with water a cloth and a wood soap or something to clean wood. After that i recommend boiled linseed oil. rub it in with a tooth brush. wait 30 mins and then apply beesvax.

The back colour......For whatever reason they decided to go with red on a blue guitar.

Great for the price

Overall I'm satisfied. It was mostly in tune when shipped with the pair of 9's it had on it, and the setup was decent but of course not perfect which is to be expected. The neck didn't need any adjusting, it was perfect, just had to slightly alter the action and intonation with a new set of 10's. This thing looks even better than the pictures and looks much more expensive than it is. The fret ends weren't sharp and all the binding and looks great. It's got a thin but tall fretboard like any other super Strat I've ever played. Both the bridge and the tuners seem great and that they shouldn't need upgraded later. My only complaint so far with this RG is the pickups. They are on the muddier side. The output of them is medium-medium high which I love but they are almost kind of sterile when it comes to the high gain tones. I also have a completely different guitar at this exact same price point that's all stock and it's humbuckers sound way clearer so I'll probably end up upgrading them. But other than that this thing is rock solid and looks amazing, it's nice and light too.

Good for the price

1rst the good. The guitars fit and finish is awesome the color is lighter in person. The guitar is very light weight. The neck is not overly thin Wich is the way I like it. No fret buzz. I adjusted the intonation and action to my liking and the guitar stays in tune very well. The bad the pickups sound a little weak especially the bridge one Wich I confirmed with a multimeter the neck pick up is hotter than the bridge one.maybe I got one with electrical flaws but overall very happy with the guitar a change of pickups and pots and she will be a beast especially for the price. Recomended
