Magical Box

By Rane from Missouri on August 8, 2019 Music Background: 3D sound design artist and ambient enthusiast.

Excuse me for my informal terminology.
This box has been on my wishlist since before I found Sweetwater. I bought this to house my eurorack modules at an angle and room for some signal processors.
I did a weight test in the 4U space. My old amp must weight between 70 and 80 pounds. I only put it on the bottom to be safe and good news. The rails won't bend. My complaints is with Gator's cases in general is that the modular screw strip behind the holes, are only secured by how many screws are in that part of the case. They like to fall out without screws. This is a mixer rack case and I feel that it would be a real pain to screw a mixer or other sizable equipment that takes up all 10 units. This round I superglued the screw strips in place. The other dislike is the slack on the case covers. My first 4U case bowed in the center and stayed after stacking more equipment on the bare case and not in racks. I get the same play with this new case. The price tag seems reasonable for the effort of making it, but I would expect tougher covers that do not bend as much in the middle. I think that the thickness on the side of the case should be applied to the removable covers. The bending only happens with the bigger pieces like the 10u and 8u spaces. I would expect better support like ribs or better plastic.
As I expected there is a 8 more unit spaces in the back for a power supply, fans, or permanent setting on processors. Lots of space. It would be cool to have a white painted option for easier marking up and to hide all of the dust that collects.

Rack for TouchMix 16

By Skull Daddy from Glendale, AZ on January 12, 2018 Music Background: Cover bands for years

I searched high and low for a rack that will accommodate my TouchMix 16. This is perfect!!!. The build quality seems good, however it seems like the mounting holes don"t all line up perfectly.
It came with mounting hardware and is light weight. I recommend purchasing this unit for your TouchMix 16!!!
