Hosa Guitar Pedal Coupler-Straight Adapter

By Larry from San Antonio Texas on January 2, 2017 Music Background: Beginner Guitar

These fit perfect on the pedal board I built!

Not Great for Pedalboards—Does What It’s Supposed to Though.

By John Draper from Temescal Valley, CA on March 22, 2019 Music Background: Bass Player

I did grab one of these straight TS-TS couplers to see if it would go well on my pedalboard, but with all the pressure applied with the foot on some of the switches the straight coupler fails to provide any flex which is most likely why it can have issues staying connected in pedalboards. The offset crank couplers are better for the pedalboard because they allow motion when pressure is applied and connections fail noticeably less; but the straight adapter may have better use with rack components since using straight end patch cable is ultimately better in rack setups.
Ultimately the item works as intended, and has many applications.

Coupler Spacing Too Wide

By --C2 from Wake Forest, NC on June 29, 2015

Probably better than using patch cables, but I have one complaint. The knurled portion of the shaft is longer than necessary, so the spacing between the pedals is wider. I have purchased couplers from other suppliers where the spacing is roughly equivalent to the head of one cable plug resulting in a net savings of about half an inch per coupler. This is important when chaining a lot of pedals, because you can fit an extra pedal on a row with just a few couplers in place of patch cables. These provide the direct connectivity of a coupler, but without much space savings.

Batting 1 for 3

By Justin from Vadnais Heights, MN on March 21, 2017

I bought 3 of these hoping to connect all my of Boss pedals together but 2 of the couplers come out very easily from the pedals. Pretty much every time I hit the pedal with my foot, it slips out and then I'm not fully connected to my rig. Velcro can only do so much to help the pedal from moving on the board but it still slides out too easily. This would be a definite no-go during my live performances. Also, if you have Boss pedals, make sure you look to see if any of the input or output holes are different heights.

Limited Use

By Brobob on April 9, 2016

It looks like a great idea. Enlightenment comes when you have several Boss pedals and you find the heights of the inputs and outputs don't match from pedal to pedal. The pedals don't sit flat and don't line up along the front edge either.

buyer beware

By Michael Hanby from Arkansas on May 17, 2016 Music Background: long-time amateur

These work good until they start coming apart, then they won't stay together. I believe it's an assembly issue, as the ones I have that have come apart do so because they apparently are only press-fitted together. the plug ends separate from the knurled center.

I won't waste my money on any more of these.

Poor Quality

By Robert Ingram from Princeton, LA on January 11, 2024 Music Background: 50+ Years stage experience

Used only at home, permanently attached between two pedals that live in my music room. Broke into 2 pieces when less than two weeks old. Inspection revealed shoddy construction. I won't recommend this to anyone and I won't buy anything else from Hosa ever again!

These are great. . . at breaking your pedals.

By Rowan Martin from Seattle, WA on December 4, 2023

These will be absolutely stiff, seeing as they're made of metal, and your pedals will move slightly when you turn them on and off. This means all the pressure will go to the jacks on your pedals, which will make them fail FAST. Especially when the jacks are at different heights. Plus, if the jacks are further up the pedal from others, pedals will be much closer or further away from you with all the jacks on a single line. Just get some patch cables. Hosa has some great ones with flat cables that don't get in the way for $ each. Just spend the extra dollar. It's worth it.

Do NOT waste your time!

By Keith from Canal Fulton, OH on May 1, 2014 Music Background: Music Maniac

I have two pedals by TC Electronics that look exactly the same but they won't sit flat when I have these plugged in. I've heard this is a common problem but I really though it would work with these 2 pedals. Just don't waste your time with them.
