Glad I have these…
Never spent the money on these in the past, got them as part of a package with Behringer 15" powered speakers and I'm glad I took advantage of it. Easy to move and great protection in transport.
Great, great, purchase
Great purchase. Love the protection from dinks and scuffs, etc.
Easy on and off. Well made. Highly recommended.
Strong handles and zippers. Thick velcro on pocket. Handles are strong enough to carry a powered 15, but I use a small 2 wheeler, and the bag is great protection there too.
Gator GPA-tote 15" Speaker Bag
This bag is of good quality construction. It is easy to get the speaker in and out. The zipper and the velcro are easy to operate. The carrying straps make it easy to carry the speaker.
No cushion
Great bags except no bottom cushion (protection) against dropping or setting down on hard surfaces. These bags are big, designed to carry LARGE and HEAVY speakers. With no protection on the bottom, I can see inadvertent damage happening when people are packing up and in a hurry.
Bags are constructed of heavy duty material and should last a long time.
They will work but......
They will work to carry your speakers and some cables but they do not offer much protection. I would recommend buying a foam pad to protect the speaker face from dents and serious damage even from going from gig to gig. It is basically a tough gym bag.
I still like it though just need to add a little more protection.
Will do the job
This bag is large enough to hold one 15" Rockville speaker. The zippers and materials seem cheap and I suspect that the zippers will break before the bag tears. I think this will hold up for a while with good care tho. I work in a municipal recreation setting and these bags get transported to city-wide events on a monthly basis. Will have to see how they hold up with even the most careless employee.
bag for my eon 615s
I'm a bit torn by this one, because I love gator cases. I have tons of them for all kinds of equipment. When I ordered my eon615 speakers, sweatwater was out of the jbl bags (which I have for all of my other jbl speakers, and they are EXCELLENT), but having had nothing but good experience over the decades with gator, I had no reservations making the substitution. The gator bags are a lot thinner material than the jbl bags (not necessarily a bad thing), and they fit quite well. After my first gig out, while lifting one of the bagged speakers, I heard the unmistakable pop of a stitch letting go. Yep, one of the handles tore a small hole on the bag where it attaches to the bag proper. I was surprised and disappointed. I'll eventually replace them with jbl bags. they are superior.
How bag is made
One thing i need was a bag with handle on top this didnt have one . I not sure of the velcro on the bottom of the bag i would of felt better if it was all zipper velcro give after a while . But other then that it keeps the dust of the speakers and from light scratches.
