Gator GPA-SPKSTDBG-58DLX Dual Compartment 58" Speaker Stand Bag Reviews

Heavy-Duty Carrying Bag for Two Speaker Stands

The fewer separate pieces of hardware you have to collect at the end of a gig means the faster you pack up at the end of the night, the less things you lose and have to replace. Take speaker stands. The GPA-88 carries two stands with the ease of picking up a briefcase. The bag's two separate compartments keep your stands from rubbing and getting scratched. Constructed from 600 denier Nylon and featuring rugged #10 zippers, the GPA-88 is made to last. It's outfitted with two webbed handles.

Wonderful

By Sweetwater Customer on September 14, 2017

Just got two of these and a 50" gator bag with 2 compartments.
These are better item @ about half the cost of the big name competitor's bags.

Sturdy!

By Sweetwater Customer on June 5, 2017

I've always been impressed with gator products. I never buy bags from anywhere else because I know that their bags will never rip, tear, or leave you disappointed. This bag is no different. I use it to carry four mic stands, two in each compartment, and it works perfectly.

Cheap Insurance

It can't be any good, ...because it's bigger than most stands need and (at this price) it'll soon fall apart, ...right ?

Wrong. Comprehensively wrong.

It's hard as nails. Those big-toothed zippers are tough and each have two sliders so they can go to either end or join in the middle.

Two rugged compartments mean NO stand-to-stand scratching and (best of all) it's crushable.

Crushable ? ...That's gotta be bad, ...right ?

...Aah, ...er, ...um, ...NO !

Not only does it crush and fold around its contents to squeeze into your load space, but the act of doing so also damps squeaks and rattles while we (those of us without the luxury of a transport crew) are driving.

It also makes the bag easier to fold away while the stands are in use.

If only everything else in life was as simple ...and cheap.

Great Bag! Low Price!

I'm a mobile Dj and I lug my speaker stands in and out constantly.I wanted a bag that would protect my stands from banging on everything and scratching them up.I bought this bag and I am very pleased with the quality and durability of the product. It has seperate compartments with a divider between them so the stands don't touch each other.I've owned this bag for about a year now with no problems with the zippers or anything else.I am purchasing another one for my subwoofer poles and my LCD monitor stand.Great bag.Buy it!

Tough...and the capacity!

By Nathan from Missouri on July 23, 2020 Music Background: musician, DJ, and gear geek

I just bought two of these to hold a pair of light stands (each with a T-bar and two side bars); I was worried about the fit, but my sales engineer Sam had some of the crew check and they said it would work. As it turns out, I can fit BOTH light stands into one bag - which gets heavy, but the bag feels up to it. (What to do with the 2nd bag? Put one light stand in each, with a little padding - which these bags do not have - or use the second for mic and instrument stands? Hmm...)

As heavy as it gets with two light stands inside, a shoulder strap would have been nice...but for the price (and for how little time I'll actually have the bags in hand) I suppose it's not an issue. Good bags.

Love This Bag

By Geo. McCalip from Long Beach, CA on October 13, 2018 Music Background: Singer/songwriter, open mic host, sound guy

I have been using this bag for over three years now, and I would dread the thought of not having it. I host a weekly open mic and do sound for assorted other gigs. This bag holds way more than two speaker stands. I use it to hold a couple of mike stand bags, too. each of those has a stand, a mic (one SM57, one e835), and an XLR cable for the mic. The bag also has room for two instrument cables, a couple of 5' extension cords, a two socket power isolator, and a small folding music stand. Yeah, it's a bit heavy, but the weight is not that bad compared to the single trip to the car convenience.

Even slightly overstuffed, and with constant use for over three years, the bag is still in great shape and look set to hold out for at least another three years.

great

Looks really heavy-duty and I look forward to many years of use. Holds my two US speaker stands with lots of extra room. I also put cables in it, and still fold it over before we throw it in the truck. Not my first Gator bag; probably won't be my last.

It's in the bag!

After an initial faux pas by by recieving a single zippered Gator bag, Sweetwater came through with the correct item as shown on the web site. I can place both speaker stands in separate compartments to keep scratches down to a minimum. I also place my mic stand (inside a self supplied "sleeve" inside one of the compartments. This makes going to & coming from the gig much easier. Great Bag!

Great product

By Owen from Boone, NC on October 1, 2013

High quality material...definitely strong enough to last a long time. Way better than thin nylon ones that tear quickly. Sturdy zippers...good value.

Dignity, without pain.

By Dooga from Bronx, NYC on September 4, 2013 Music Background: DJ, ReMixer

At some point you will believe its easy to carry 2 stands wedged under your arms and 2 other cases. It's not happening without eventually dropping or breaking something. Just buy this and don't look like a dummy at your gigs. It would have got a five if it had a long shoulder strap like a tripod or film light stand bag.

Great durable bag

By El Padre from Aston, PA on December 18, 2012

Hasn't seen a ton of road use yet, but so far very durable and useful. Zippers are high quality. Material is very durable and tear resistant. Too long for my uses but fits a lot of stuff... I use it for 2 speaker stands, 2 mic stands and 2 music stand bases.
