For once, everything included in the box. All basic I/O necessary to use phone/computer with a mic / guitar / mono synth & full MIDI I/O!

I already have an audio interface for my iMac. I already have a simple 2x2 audio interface for my iOS devices. I already have a USB-MIDI cable/interface that'll work with either. iPhone/iPad requires the CCK adapter to plugin USB-A interfaces, meaning usually I have to choose do I want the audio I/O or MIDI I/O ? You can use a hub but then the question is is it powered? 48V? This bad boy COMES WITH AA batteries to power itself and it comes with an adapter allowing you to power it with any regular USB-A (portable battery or wall outlet normal phone charger). It comes with the adapters so you can use it as regular USB (PC/Mac) or Lightning (iOS). It just comes with everything! What I love so much about iOS audio/midi interfaces is they just work plug n play - no config, no drivers. Unless you need stereo input or TS x2 main outputs, go with this!

Amazing!

I've had a few issues with similar devices. So far, I have not had any such issues with this, and actually prefer thus to the IRig Pre HD I was using. It's a bit larger but the design is more sleek and the gain dial being on the front as opposed to the side is incredibly convenient. This also comes with far more cable options so it's much more versatile. I highly recommend it!!!

Solid if used for the right purposes

By Sweetwater Customer on July 25, 2023 Music Background: Semi Pro, recorded and released several professionally produced records.

I was looking for a mini interface so I could step away from my workstation setup and record guitars in the coffee shop or from the living room couch. This thing does the trick. The pre-amp sounds good enough where I would use DI guitars recorded with it on final mixes. Probably wouldn't use this thing for lead vocals, but backups? sure!

One head scratcher for me is why the weird/exotic ports. Apart from the typical headphone and XLR combo jack, the unit is plenty large enough to have full-size midi ports and a proper DC power jack. And why not USB-C? This USB type B port is from the stone age. Given the price of over $ I really think they should change the ports to more popular standards.

All that said, it's a solid interface for recording guitars to my laptop on the go, which is exactly why I bought it. Granted, I did get it for less than 50 bucks elsewhere, so I can't confidently say I'd buy this thing full price. Cheers!

it has several uses

This is not a new product design, but it works well enough in some situations. It is designed for Apple products. It can record audio in only some - apparently a minority - Android sound recording apps - several crashed after 1.8 seconds. Helicon support could say only, "try a different app." (No actual support for anything non-Apple.) But then you can use a real mic with your phone. (I think I also got it working in a test on Windows.) I find it useful as a DAC and amplifier for recordings played from a Samsung S20 through headphones with 3.5 mm plug. It is a vastly better DAC than what is on a popular brand USB PD hub. The headphone jack on the side (not on the end) makes it not an ergonomic configuration if either you're going to hold it or you're trying to put it down. It didn't give phantom power if drawing power from the phone alone. If you have enough USB power, it seems that the AA batteries are not supplying power. External power is thru a cable with an unspecified plug, not supplied. The USB port is mini, which is a standard abandoned a few years ago. A new design, with a few changes, might be a good idea. Sweetwater had a clearance sale on this in November, but somehow it is back.

Why no PC support?????

By James on December 20, 2021

It baffles me that any company in the 21st century would only provide their software suite in IOS. People using Windows/PC has to be more than people using Apple products but what do I know.

Also does not come with drivers and you cannot download drivers from the TC-Helicon website. None/Nada for the go solo. Had to install ASIO4all to get it to work with BIAS FX2 and it still has glitches. Not user friendly at all if you have a PC!

I bought this because of the price Sweetwater was selling it for, but I regret the purchase and still might return it if it is possible. Should have bought a Focusrite or another audio interface. They say it is PC/Android compatible, but it is not like it should be and you get none of the software that should come with it.

If you have a PC or use anything other than Apple IOS = STAY AWAY! There are better options.

Awkward design - where are the apps?

By Sweetwater Customer on May 25, 2023

I bought this around Christmas 2022. The design is bulky and awkward. Where is the software? Can put iPad on music stand, but this thing? Not unless you let it dangle from the USB cable. Get irig.
