Yammies are Unbeatable!

By Will from Maine on February 19, 2024 Music Background: Singer/songwriter : Acoustic, electric, bass, guitar, baritone guitar, piano

My first acoustic was a cheap yamaha fg -I literally loved it to death. Years later I bought a beautiful, fancy, vintage, Yamaha FG375S for a few hundred as homage to my first. I and still play and love that guitar today- after 45 yrs it has spot on action/intonation and sounds like a million bucks! Yamaha's are in my honest opinion the most affordable and consistantly quality acoustic instruments made. So when I went to buy my first classical guitar I bought the lowest price yammy I could find: the C40.
After 3 years of playing, it is more a joy to play than the day I received it. It sounds, plays, and looks fantastic! It exceeded all expectations! I have played guitar for 35 years and have played them all- including the overpriced and overinflated names that I won't mention. There is NOT one thing about it that bothers me at all. No flaw or drawback whatsoever. This is uncommon when buying an entry level product. I am picky too. There is usually a feeling of "Well its pretty good but this or that could be better- but for the money..." But seriously it is a well made, quality, instrument that will last for years to come. I have played in church many times and always get compliments on it.
So if you are a beginner, or someone like me who is a long time guitar lover and player but isn't looking to play classical as a main thing- yet can't tolerate inferior guitars.
This is a great guitar. It even came with a gig bag!

Looking for a guitar to help rehab a hand injury, bought the Yamaha C40 GigMaker Classical Package based solely on a customer review by Mike Barnes. Thanks, Mike! Beautiful instrument, aesthetically and musically. (And the price was right!) Closing with a shout-out to Sweetwater customer service, specifically Mickey Cushing: The Best! Thanks again!

Got my C40 Pack a couple months ago. I love it, it's perfect for a beginner like me. The price is right too. Thank you Sweetwater.

I'm just a beginner at guitar and the second I heard a clip of it, I knew it was the one I wanted. It's a good guitar for its price and I'm enjoying learning how to play different songs.

Nice guitar! Shipped quickly!

The guitar is great, and the guitar bag is good quality.

great guitar

By mike barnes from Olympia Wa on March 17, 2020 Music Background: I have played the guitar for over 60years, never as a professional.

I purchased this guitar solely for the purpose of helping me to stretch my fingers. (arthritis and being 79yo)..
I am not a professional guitarist by any measure, but I have strummed, picked and banged around on guitars since I was 10 yo. I have always played steel string guitars and own several. So I bought this guitar and upon arrival in a huge box I was like a small boy at Christmas.. Very well packaged!
I was nearly in tune outta the box so I touched it up and sat down with my new ax..... the strumming was ok, but... The Fingerpicking was just outstanding.. no not my playing the sound of this inexpensive guitar.. The phrasing and sentiment that you can educe from this instrument is amazing.
I have now had this guitar for several months and I play it every day, sometimes for just 30 minutes and sometimes several hours..
Very nice finish but much to glossy for my taste...
Frets needed a touch on the edges of the frets, 1 minute max..
The strings were good.
This guitar sets on a stand in the room and it has yet to go out of tune.... maybe 7 cents, no more. Did I say I love this guitar? Oh yeah... My Martin doesn't like it, since I play it way more then the D41, but it is what it is.
It is on sale NOW.. I paid full weight, dang it....
PLUS, it has done what I originally wanted it for, to stretch my fingers..
Don't hesitate to buy this for your child or for your self! You can't go wrong, really!

I have purchased a few items from Sweetwater. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Delivery was practically outstanding. Even being here in the back waters of Oregon, my purchases arrived right on schedule as guaranteed by Sweetwater. I would not be hesitant to do business again with Sweetwater.
