Not as durable as it should be
While the unit seems sturdy, and served me without a problem for over 3 years of very light use, that clamp that holds the stand to the feet - which others have experienced failures in, also has failed, and is something that can't be repaired. I've got harder-used gear from cheaper goods that have been more durable. I'll be looking for better options next time.
Great at first
This product seems to be of great quality. However the lug that secures the bottom tripod feet to the stand (an essential moving part) ALWAYS fails. It will always, in time strip. I've had 3 of these over the years, 2 that I bought, and a brand new unit that was sent to me by the company to replace the stands that had faulted but alas… they all have failed, and I'm here shopping for another stand lol
Not worth it.
Bought 2. Both failed
Spent the extra dollars to buy two of these thinking they would last better than the low-priced stands. The lock on the legs failed on both. They are out of warranty, but I have cheap stands that are ten years old and still working. There is no way to fix this issue, so now they will tend to tip over. Get something else.
I should have returned this.
From the beginning the upper boom would not hold the microphone this was bundled with, an AKG P420, it would slowly tilt down. Second the clutch that holds the elevation section of the stand spins and will not allow me to loosen and raise/lower the main section easily. I am past the warranty. Shame on me because I knew this was a problem and did nothing about asking for a return or replacement. I would avoid this. My preference now is K&M.
NOT HAPPY!!! BOO
I bought 4 stands and all 4 of them, the lower tripod lock stripped, and it wasn't even being over tightened.
The stands stay in a closet on stage and come out once a week, MAYBE. There is no reason for this to happen.
Nice but ....
This is a nice stand but my Rode NT1 mic was too heavy. I had to torque way too hard on the screw to keep it at the right height...and even then it would fall. I ended up buying a boom as this is for voice over.
The rating is for voice over use.
