Too Bouncy

By Mike

I had three major issues with this stand. First of all, it is way too bouncy, especially the bottom tier. Secondly, in order to get my hand in to operate the controls on my keyboard on tier 2, I had to raise tier 3 to a point where it was uncomfortable to reach from a sitting position. The third issue is that it would be difficult to gig with. The unit requires several screws that have to be screwed in with an Allen wrench. Doing this before a gig when there is mass confusion with multiple players and/or bands or after a gig when you are exhausted would not be fun. I'll stick with my On Stage two-tier Z style, which is as solid as a rock. If I need the third board, I'll put it on the side in an L shape. Repackaging it to send back was a total pain as well, but I think I was able to get all the components in the right place.

Well made and adjustable. Not very portable, I found it to rock back and forth while playing

By BIll D. from New Hampshire
Music Background: weekend classic rock band

The Gator stand is very well made. Solid and holds the keyboards well. You can adjust the height of the two top tiers and also the angle of the arms on the top two. I found the bottom level to be short. That's not adjustable. The key bed sits at about 32 inches which is 4 inches shorter than other stands I have. at 6 ft'1 I found myself hunched when playing while standing. For transport, unless you have room to leave it assembled, you have to remove the 3 cross bars which are screwed in with an Allen wrench. Plus the 2 bottom arms which are secured with on board screws. None the less, you're keeping track of 5 pieces, 6 screws and a wrench. Lastly, maybe I play harder than I think, but I found the stand to rock toward and away from you while playing. Not a lot. 1-2 inches of play maybe. But once it started, it didn't take much force to ramp up the amount of movement. For those reasons I wont be keeping it.
