Grabbed a 14x16 floor tom bag for my tour kit, This was the one I chose by getting all the sets of the Galaxy Series sizes that I needed for on the road, Yes I trust these bags on the road by getting the Galaxy Series in the past by traveling, I trust these drum bags by the craftsmanship that Humes & Berg creates for all drummers, Especially the sizes they have in stock, Got all my bags in one order so that my tour kit will be protected on and off the road, Highly recommend the Galaxy series !!!!

This is pretty great! hardshell cases are wonderful, but they tend to weigh more and take up more space. this is great for giging with but not breaking your back and give some decent protection. I still wouldn't recommend banging your drum against anything, but it'll help with scratches and some fall damage.

I bought 3 other bags several months ago that I've been using regularly (for a smaller footprint travel kit) in my gigging, and they've been GREAT! I have no reason to believe that this bag, purchased for a drum that I don't take with me to gigs, will be just as great in protecting it whenever I decide to move it from point A to point B.

The only thing I can think of that might make these bags better is for H&B to insert a metal ring just under each half of the zipper, with a hinge on the side that stays connected. I sometimes find it a challenge (albeit a small one) to insert my drum into the bag without the opening collapsing under the weight of the drum. I'm not sure how, exactly, that might work, and H&B may have already tried it, but it's what comes to mind as I think about my regular usage of my bags.

As far as the quality of the bags and how well I feel they protect my drums, I think they're great 9for bags, as opposed to hard cases). Of course, if you strike a serious blow to the drum contained in one of these bags, it's quite likely that the drum inside will be damaged, but that's the nature of bags, and I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a bag that eliminates that risk. As long as you're doing your own cartage, they'll serve you well. After all, you want to protect your drums, so you'll do all you can to avoid such a significant blow to any of them. Baggage handlers at airports or cartage companies, on the other hand, . . . YMMV.

For the price you can't beat these cases.

As with all of these Galaxy bags, this bag works with my DW Performance series drum, in this case, the 14x16 floor tom. The legs of the tom are too long to leave them on the drum.
