Awesome Guitar

By Gail Reineke from DENTON, NC on November 25, 2021 Music Background: 50+years singing, songwriting, and playing guitar in churches and care facilities.

Another impeccable guitar from Takamine. It arrived in pristine condition thanks to professional packaging. Took only a moment to tune it using the onboard tuner. Easy playability, mellow, sweet sound from the cedar top. Excellent intonation, stays in tune, just like the other Takamine ST26 I've owned since 1992. It doesn't have to be a limited or special edition by them to be a superb one. It matters not the level of experience, you will not go wrong with this or any Takamine guitar.

Many thanks to my sales engineer, Joshua Thorington, and to the inspectors. Your customer service exceeded my expectations. Even FedEx did a great job, delivering it sooner than I thought with the holiday.

i dont usually buy anything online because i cant physically touch it.. also, i was skeptical about giving sensitive info over the phone for my credit check because of being a victim of identity theft a few unfortunate times in my life, but for some reason i felt really comfortable about it with brian.. ordered my gd20ce-ns around noon, and had it by around noon the next day.. i was blown away about the super fast service!!!! it was sooo worth it, not a blemish on this beautiful instrument!!! glad i did it... i will buy everything i need through sweetwater!!! i also found out my new guitar instructor has been using sweetwater for all his gear for years!! way to go guys!!! just have to wait a little longer for my shoulder to heal from surgery so i can get it under my arm, lol... thanks to the entire sweetwater organization!!!

Outstanding Packaging

I have purchased two guitars from Sweetwater. Their packaging is outstanding!! Guitars arrived safe and secure. The molded foam insulation inside the box really does its job in securing their products!

Super Pleased Beyond Expectations!

By sierracustomleather from Nevada on March 6, 2018

First of all let me say how great Tyler Davis was to work with! Outstanding customer service. I really enjoy the guitar specialist aspect to purchasing from Sweetwater. I was looking for a softer type of sound from an acoustic guitar. I have a 35 year old Yamaha FG335E which has aged into with a beautiful tone but I wanted something with a smoother neck and softer tone. I recently purchased an Ibanez V70CE and although its a nice guitar it has a very "loud and super bright" tone to it, which it makes it ideal for country rock or edgy rock and roll. I spent two months looking at Takamine,Epiphone Dove and Hummingbird as well as several Guild models,Martin and Washburn. I did my research and heard all the various models. I finally had it down to three models. I talked with Tyler and told him what I was looking for. There was no high pressure sales pitch and he was very patient. I finally decided on the Takamine GD20CE-NS. I was intrigued by the cedar top offering a softer tone. SPOT ON!! Absolutely gorgeous sounding guitar and the workmanship is amazing. The wood grain is breathtaking and the natural satin finish is spectacular! Thanks Tyler for all your help and great service.

Close to worth the asking price

By Marcelo Vergara from PORTLAND, OR on April 23, 2023 Music Background: Beginner to intermediate

I bought this guitar because I like the way the strings are installed on the bridge. I like the fact I don't have to deal with the pins. I don't have to worry losing a pin or flying away while putting the strings on. This is my first acoustic steel string guitar and I found it hard to play it for more than 30 minutes. The action does not look high but boy did I find it hard on my fingers. After playing this guitar, going back to the nylon string guitar feels so satisfying. The battery compartment is not well design. It feels hard putting back the battery lid/compartment. The design needs to be re-engineered. The sound is great, I like it. Tone sounds great. If I had to do it again, I might buy a Breedlove. I since have tried out some of the Breedlove guitars and they are so much better setup, perfect height, sating necks, the right size of the neck, and fret finished. If you are looking into this guitar, try a Breedlove and see if you like it.

Note: It survived shipping, FedEx punched a hole through the outer box and the guitar box. Luckily the guitar did not get damaged. I might have sent it back if it wasn't for the fact that I did not have a good box to ship it back.

High Action Unplayable.

By Sweetwater Customer from Michigan on September 15, 2019 Music Background: Pro

Action is horrible, way too high. I really don't know if shaving the saddles will be enough. The bridge its self might need slight work. Contemplating sending this back for a refund. On the upside, this particular guitar would be good for playing slide and the wood is very nice. I can't comment on its tone and sound, played it less than 15 seconds and put it back in the cardboard box it was shipped in. For the price, there are nicer acoustics/elecs out there.
