Gets the job done but...

By Ronald from Roach, MO

Great product by a great company. This pop filter does what it says it does BUT I am not sure that it works at the maximum capacity for a pop filter. I feel like quite a bit of plosives still come through to the recording which is not the case with other pop filters. Don't let this decision stop you from making music though! There are tons of great recordings out there done with a literal sock over the mic!!

Looks like the Stedman, but it ain't.

By Dennis K. from Lathrup Village, MI

I had recently purchased the Stedman Proscreen 101 and it seems like a good product.
After searching around Sweetwater I found this Golden Age Project and it looked almost identical to the Stedman for $10 less.
So I bought one.
Here's a comparison:
The Golden Age has slightly larger screen, with holes that seem slightly larger.
The Stedman has about 1" longer gooseneck
Quite a difference in the mount clamps: The stedman uses heaver gauge metal and stronger bolt.
The Golden age has a plastic 'knob-like thing' on the inside of the clamp attached to the bolt so
it will not fit over the outside tube of a mic stand unless you pry off the knob-like-thing. Which I have not done yet.
The Stedman will fit over the outside tube of the mic stand I am using.
The Stedman has a stronger gooseneck. I tried a stress-test and the Stedman did not flex while the Golden Age did.
See the pictures. Stedman on left/top, GA on right/bottom.

Works, but bad quality

By Kennith H. from Phoenix, AZ
Music Background: Two Decades of playing and recording since 2005

When placing my hand six inches away, I can tell the pop filter is doing it's job. This would be okay at the price point, but the arm doesn't hold it's own weight. Typically you need to set then too high so they will fall in place. No matter how high I place it, it fall back to the same spot.

Would not recommend.
