Great starter nylon string

By Philip V. from LONGMONT, CO

The quality of this very affordable classical guitar surprised me. The black binding on the neck and body is nice (something unseen by me in the photos). I bought it as a nylon string option for two bands I play in--I play steel string primarily.

The electronics are a great feature of this feather weight guitar-it really sings thru my Fender Acoustic Junior amp! So mission accomplished. A great beginner classical guitar. And good for gigging.

Changed strings. It's a different guitar

By Mark B. from Circleville, WV
Music Background: Semi-professional. Play live 6X/month

Having worked on electric & acoustic guitars for over 50 years, I should have known this would happen. On new guitars the first thing I do is change strings. Always. I know nothing about classical guitars so I have been watching YT videos by the dozens. Lots of people say to change strings as the first step to solve intonation problems. I thought I would go all the way and get expensive strings. Savarez Alliance Corum Medium (STSAV50-50005). Holy Cow! This guitar woke up! The intonation is also much better. I play some very complex fingerpicking pieces on acoustic guitar that go high up the fretboard. Before changing strings some notes on this guitar were worse than dead high up. With the new strings these notes pop and ring like a bell.

I also sanded, polished and conditioned the fretboard, leveled the frets and dressed the fret ends. The fret ends were horrible. I have watched videos that compare $ classical guitars. With the new strings I suspect this guitar now sounds at least as good as a $ guitar, maybe better. I am very pleased with it now!

Excellent guitar given the price

By Mark B. from Circleville, WV

I have maybe 12 guitars and do all my own set up work. I wanted a nylon string guitar to play finger-picking arrangements I haven't played in over 40 years, plus learn new ones. For the price this is a gem. Massive volume unplugged. Nut slot depth and action are perfect according to the classical guitar articles I read. Intonation is off on all 6 strings per strobe tuner, in the same direction, but not enough to be noticeable, and I can detect small discrepancies:) Perhaps the intonation will change after the guitar settles in over time. But I am happy with it as it is.

I like it so much I plan to play it live. It is certainly fun to play and lends itself to new ideas for this long-time primarily electric guitarist.

IS THIS GUITAR FOR YOU?

By Marshall F. from NEVADA
Music Background: 73, Started playing guitar at 14, Vocals, Guitar, Bass and Piano.

I was not in any way expecting this guitar to be this good at such a price point! The guitar has perfect intonation. Which is amazing to me considering the bridge is in a straight line. I have 5 bass guitars and about 25-30 electric guitars and have been the Luthier that set them all up. This requires a high end Peterson or Conn Chromatic tuner to set up the bridge saddles. Anyone who has a perfect guitar setup can attest to the fact that the bridge saddles never form a straight line. I'm 73 and have been repairing and setting up guitars forever, this my first time owning classical acoustic guitar. It should be noted the the nut measures 2", a standard classical nut size. I mention this because they neglected to mention that in the specs. Another thig that blew me away is how load the sound board is,...this thig is a cannon and I have not even plugged it in yet! The size reminds me of a parlor guitar. I bought it to have for noodling and to get back to the discipline of a classical stance. (ever wondered how Randy Roads got so good? Classical guitar and training) If you are interested in this guitar, just realize with that 2" nut your not going to monkey grip this baby, your going to have to assume the classical stance. Guitar on left knee, sit up straight, left foot stand is optional!! Remember to have FUN!
