Fulfilled a dream

By Sam from Arizona on February 4, 2022

Ever since I saw this flame maple Gretsch on the back of the first Setzer orchestra CD, I wanted it. That was in 6th grade. Nearly 25 years later I finally fulfilled that dream. This thing plays like a dream. I like the Setzer pickups more than the Ray Butts pickups on the lacquer model. They have more bark and power. I think the spring they use on the Bigsby is too tall. I switch out for the shorter spring and brought the arm down lower to a more comfortable position. It plays smoother than any of my other guitars. It's a perfect guitar that calls back to the early BSO days.

The Ultimate Gretsch

By Kevin from NH on August 26, 2020

It's great to see Gretsch is making these again. I have a 2018 model that is incredible. These have all Setzer's famous upgrades that turn a Gretsch '59 into a gigging dream. Yup, it's the one Gretsch that will stay in tune all night with light strings. The Setzer pu's sound like classic Gretsch in the middle position and a rock monster in the back position. It's got a thin neck with fret spacing that makes stretchy jazz chords a lot easier. Get this and start rocking. It's worth every penny.
