The Gretsch G5260T Baritone is truly nice

By Asher from Barnwell, SC on February 15, 2024

This Gretsch G5260T Baritone guitar is an incredible value. The fretboard feels great, the build quality is at the same level as guitars over a grand in price. Some decisions obviously were effected by the price point they wanted to hit, like the heel being a bit blocky. But overall it feels really good and the action is low, so I can work around it. I tried out multiple tunings down to G to G and it feels solid still. The bigsby works/sounds great, though there is a little binding at the bridge. I intend to drop in a roller bridge and a rocker bridge and see which one feels better. In my opinion, it needs one or the other if you plan on messing with the bigsby much. The pickups are lower output, which is good. It gets very clean. It also takes crunch well when you turn up the amp volume and get power amp mojo into it. If you are on the fence about this instrument, you should just get one. If you don't plan on using the vibrato bar much, get the other model with the stop tail piece. Strings for this guitar are very limited in options due to the bigsby wrap around length, and the longer than average scale length of 29.75". The strings basically have to be the whole length of the instrument. So the stop tail model would increase your string options. I like and use the bigsby enough to be fine with dealing with the extra hassle.

Gretsch baritone 5260

By Josef Kasperovich from San Luis Obispo, CA on February 14, 2024

This is a lot of guitar for the money! Good set up when it arrived - thanks Sweetwater, as always. I love a Bigsby and happy to have it. I will however change the spring and do a little finishing to it. It is a licensed Bigsby, so not as "polished" as a "true" Bigsby.

Truely Great Guitar

By Ron from St. Peters, Mo on September 19, 2023 Music Background: Rocker turned country. Been playing for over 40 years.

I love the baritone sound. It's something I've been wanting to add to my music. Gretsch makes a quality product, flawless right out of the box. I'm very happy I added this to my collection of guitars.
