Awesome Guitar

By Sweetwater Customer on February 14, 2021 Music Background: Jazz

I am just blown away by the fit and finish of this guitar. Hard to believe that it's an inexpensive guitar. Plays, fells, and sounds like one costing
$1000 more. If you're looking in this price range, you can't go wrong

More Than You Pay For

Let start by saying Calvin Hull is a tremendous help and a great member of the Sweetwater team! They always make you feel important and are extraordinarily helpful. Now, this guitar is very similar to most of the reviews I've read. It has that awesome classic Gretsch sound. It is very affordable. For anyone scared of buying Chinese made guitars, trust me when I say the manufacturing is quite sound. I've had no trouble with anything I've bought, and many of the major brands have moved their less expensive lines there. The cheap labor is part of what makes what you're playing so affordable. I restrung the guitar when I received it, because I prefer to play with 9's. It took slightly longer given the bigsby, but let me say the tuning stability is off the charts. Once I broke my strings in, it never lost tuning. Since the day I received it, which is over a week, I've tuned it once. It does feel like more of a $1500-$2000 guitar in your hands.

There's one negative that jumps out at me. You might as well not have a tone knob. The difference is so slight as to make the effort to turn it useless. It is attached, because with everything off around me and quiet I can faintly hear the difference, but it is VERY VERY slight. Overall, great guitar, loads of fun, sounds incredible so you won't miss the tone knob too much, and priced friendly on the wallet!
