Great guitar for the money
We are a fairly serious musical family (classical mostly) and are just now moving into more electrified realms. We bought this guitar for my daughter, who's been playing acoustic for awhile but wanted to add to her collection. She loves it. It is very playable, stays in tune nicely, and has a good tone. It's a LOT of guitar for the money--and it's beautiful too.
Such a fun guitar
Picked this up on the Black Friday sale.
The guitar is beautiful and the fit and finish are amazing.
Only thing I had to do was raise the neck pick up a touch, but thats personal preference. It came in tune and sounding great right out of the box.
Running this through a Catalyst 60 has provided nonstop playing fun. It's just a great feeling axe all around. Some of the best feeling pots I have used. Subtle changes are easily appreciated.

I had been eyeing this beautiful guitar for awhile, much to my surprise, my wife bought it for me for Christmas from Sweetwater. I am completely impressed! Of all the guitars I own, including my Tele, Strat and LP, this is by far the best sounding and playing guitar I have ever played!
It arrived from Sweetwater in perfect condition (she ordered the Gretsch case also, which it was nicely shipped in)

Once again i fell in love with the looks of this ax and already have les pauls, a strat and many other brands but always wanted a gretsch ! Wasnt expecting the quality of what i paid for this as my other expensive axs however when i took it out of box 24 hrs later i stayed up all nite jamming on it and had a hard time putting it down !!! As with all of my guitars fm sweetwater i had it pleked with fast action set up...beautiful job again guys...cant say enuf how smooth i can rip on this baby...if ur on a budget in this price range and sitting on the fence wondering - i wouldnt hesitate to highly recommend this ax all !!! Well worth it !!! Also bought the gretch hard shell case and is also good choice...ax fits perfect...no complaints...thanx again matt christopherson for ur input on equip...never disappointed !!! Think i owe u tootsie rolls by now...great service you guys !!! Keep it up and God Bless...

You think this is slicked-back? This is pushed-back. People can change.
This guitar probably deserves a little more love in the rating than I'm giving it if you take into account the actual cost, because it's a steal. I also purchased the case (Gretsch G6238FT Electromatic Solid Body Flat Case), so this guitar with the hardshell case is definitely worth the investment. The finish is fantastic and worthy of a much more expensive guitar. The frets are rough but manageable and most likely fixable, although in my experience the guitars made in China and Korea are hit or miss and generally stay that way. In general, it looks good and it sounds good, and it feels good after a little tweaking. There are a lot of little details that go a long way (knobs, inlays, etc.) that makes this guitar worth owning. Most importantly, you're not going to worry about putting a huge scrape into the body, because it's a player. You didn't spend enough on it to worry about preserving it forever, so whip it out and rip on it. And as usual, Sweetwater is the way to go. If you ever have any problems, they will always take care of it. If you're not buying it off of some 50 year old guy who still lives with his parents and needs money to fix his 1988 Ford Escort, then buy it from Sweetwater. You won't get a better deal, and the support is unmatched. I've dealt with Nich, but I think the service is top notch no matter who your representative is.
