Swapped ou the two Seventy eighty speakers with G 12 M Greenbacks in my ORI 212 A cabinet. The difference was phenomenal !!Thanks Max for a great experience with Sweetwater. Always appreciate you taking time to have a personal chat with the ole man keep up the good work

Running this speaker in an older Egnater Tweaker 1x12 cab with my Marshall Class 5 head and it is the sound I was looking for!
Straight up sweet tone that works both clean and that often sought after edge of breakup crunch.
Been a Fender Tube amp guy with Jensen (Weber) speakers' guy for many years.
This speaker broke the hold!!!

If it gets any better after a few months of break in, then I'll be amazed.
Sounds excellent out of the box.
running it in an Egnater Tweaker cab and wow it is doing work as a Blues Machine and a Classic Rock Monster.
Nice to have an all British made set up, yep even my EL84 is an old NOS Sylvania made in England LOL!

These speakers sound great in 4 x12 cabinet. A few days to break in. They go well with Marshall 1987 50 wt head. The old speaker in cab weren't a good match for head. Wired parallel series to 8 ohms. Great sound .

Someone had put a different kind of speaker with a Greenback in a 2x12 cab I bought years ago, and I never really vibed with it. Adding this one to the older Greenback totally brought the cab to life! These are by far my favorite speakers for the old school modded Marshall tones I go for. The quality is still AAA+

The Shipping was super-fast, and the boxes was clean. The Celestion G12M Greenback sounded great right out of the box. But then again, the sound is only as good as you can play

I bought an orange cab with a chinese celestion vintage 30 speaker. This UK Greenback is so much sweeter!

I got these speakers for my 4 -12 cab that had all vintage 30's in it. After i put to in my cab the tone just wanted keep playing my guitar i'm very happy that i did that. Thanks sweet water for a getting them out so fast@

Great sound! I thought of going with a lower priced clone but elected to go with Celestion having had satisfaction with this brand in the past. Glad I did despite having to pay a little more.

These are the best quality UK made speakers for the $$ one can buy. I popped two of these into my 2x12 origins cab and dang they wail! As always I have the best SW rep (Robert Williams. (I'm sure the rest are top quality too). I use these mostly for home, but I love to crank my amp to annoy my neighbors. and these speakers sure do put out sound.

I thru these in my Marshall JCM 800 2x12 and they've really bumped up my 50 watt rig!
I have no regrets! I love Sweetwater!

One of the best rock and roll speakers out there. I got a pair for an Avatar 2x12 cabinet that I've paired with a Z Wreck Jr head, and it has really brought the sound of my amp to life. I was using a G12H-70 Anniversary and a Vintage 30, but the sound wasn't very good. Once I got these UK made Greenbacks put in, the tone I was expecting came out. Highly recommend!

This speaker totally changed the way my Egnater Tweaker sounds. Can't wait to get it broke in. Added a very distinct British sound.

Been using G12M-25s and many years in my Marshall cabinets. Such a perfect match with the 4-holers. I'm currently using 4 of them with a 1987x and 2 of them with an SV20H. I started out with a 1959 Super Lead back in the day and it sounded glorious through 8 of these. No harshness. They are really good straight out of the box, but they sweeten with use to sound even smoother and creamier. Fully broken-in there is just nothing like a Greenback. A true classic.

I had a cabinet with 2 Vintage 30s. I swapped out one V30 with the G12M Greenback. The V30s are 16 ohm impedance in parallel for an equivalent 8 ohms. The Greenback is also 16 ohms.
Makes a nice blend and removes some of the highs and adds some mids. It also gives me some options for mic'ing the cabinet.
I'm driving it with a Suhr PT15ir so it's still safe for me - 15W into a 25W speaker. The V30s can handle 60W RMS each.

You know all the things they say about this being an amazing rock and roll guitar speaker, that brings out all the tasty crunch tones. Well, they are all correct. Fantastic upgrade for my cabinet. Why did I wait so long? This is the Way...

I have 8 different amps and a dozen different speakers and to me, the Greenback just sounds the way I want a Celestion to sound. It is beautiful clean, classic rock crunchy and sizzling when overdriven. Lacks a little bass in an open back cab but more than makes up for it with upper mids and highs that are stellar. A close second for me is the V Type which is a great all around speaker just a tad shy of the clarity and tone of the marvelous Greenback.

The Celestion G12M 16 ohm speakers are the only speakers you'll ever need. They are the perfect tone and output Specs. for any Guitar enthusiast.

Greenbacks are classic speakers if you saw live music in the 70's and 80's there's no doubt the guitar sound was being pumped out of these speakers. Right out of the box they sounded great. The clarity was the most surprising for me. Put two in a 212. So far I've tried my EVH 6L6 50 watt and Splawn StreetRod 40 watt with a Gibson V and SG. Talk about the Rock and Roll sound. Couldn't be happier. I have a 412 that needs speakers, may put all greenbacks in it.

This speaker replaced a Turbosound 12" 8 Ohm speaker that came stock in a BUGERA INFINIUM V22 Tube Amp. The Turbosound speaker was a real dog and did not sound too hot.....U C, I needed a 16 Ohm speaker as my Rigs' speakers are all 16 Ohm and I play in STEREO, so the BUGERA's Speaker had to be 16 Ohm's. My Rigs left channel has a MARSHALL Jubille Re-issue Mini 20 Watt Combo Amp w/Celestion Greenback 16 Ohm 12" speaker , yes? So I replaced the Bugera Combo's 12" Turbosound speaker with the same speaker that is in the MARSHALL....so now the BUGERA Infinium 22Watt Combo is the Right Channel of my STEREO Rig. Both combo's are set to 8 Ohms and one 8 Ohm OUT PUT has the internal 12" Speaker and the 2nd 8 Ohm OUTPUT on both Combo's goes out to an IN-PUT on 2X12" Marshall Stereo Cabinet w/2 12" 16 Ohm Celestion Vintage 30's in it.....so now the entrie Rig hass 12" 16 Ohm Celestion speakers and it is completely BAD-A$$$....... if I do say so myself(it really is BAD-A$$ and took 3.5 yrs to get to this point w/Speaker , AMP & Pedal experiments etc etc)....... and the Celestion GREENBACK in the Burgera Combo was the final piece to the puzzle...I figured if the Greenback is good enough for Marsahll to put in a Marshall 20 Watt Combo that goes for $1500, its good enough for the POS BUGERA , and I was right......coz it sounds great !!! Big improvement over the Turbosound OEM speaker that came stock in the BUGERA.

They sound amazing! Replaced Peavey 5150 Model 1200's. The difference is night and day. The Greenbacks kill it - and sound awesome! Metal.

I had purchased a Blackstar Studio 10 6L6 combo in 2019. The stock 12" Celestion 70-80 was actually decent. But I have always loved the G12M Greenback in my amps or cabinets. I bought this and installed it and to my ears these were the improvements.
On the clean side it had more low end and seemed to add what sounded like slight compression. The amp always sounded really good clean, but now it sounds even better.
On the distorted or boost channel I noticed a huge improvement. What before was ok is now really full and dynamic. I never really bonded with the distorted side of this amp before so I used pedals with the clean side. Now I am digging the amps distortion thru the G12M.
I think for reasonable amount of money it costs, it's totally worth it.

I paired two green backs with two Vintage 30 in a 4-12 Marshall cab & I have to say it sound really good.
It's a slant cab & at first it had 4 -75 watt Celestions than I put the two Vintage two 75 watts & it never really sound great ok at best but this combo seems to work pretty good.
Right now I have the Green backs on top & vintage on the bottom.
I may try to stack them so I get a little of more of both tones.
I am also powering it with a JCM 800 and it reminds me of a Judas Priest tone load & cleans up pretty well rolling back the volume on the guitar. So not a super heavy tone but I haven't had a chance to try it with my DSL. I'm sure that well be great also & give me a little heavier tone.

I pair these Greenbacks with WGS veteran 30s in my Marshall cab and it sounds great. If you have an all tube Marshall, I recommend these Greenbacks. Great classic tone and that distinctive growl they produce! I also want to give a shout out to Stephen Oppenhiem and the rest of the SWEETWATER crew for helping me and having the best customer service possible. You guys are great!

Put the G12M 16ohm in my VOX AC4C1-12 and found that it was an excellent upgrade. Far more warmth and great midrange crunch. Paired this with a Tung-Sol tube upgrade. Turned this little amp into a hot rod. I"m young in playing guitar, a bass player of 40 yrs, but have listened to a lot of amps and for the price of the amp and the Celestion upgrade w(tubes I"m truly satisfied with the performance. The Celestion is well worth the $ for any amp. Little wonder they are used so much in more high dollar amps. Sweetwater was great as always. Thanks.

As to this speaker, it sounds fantastic. However, I only bought one for my 4x12 cabinet, so it"s not done. The sound might change a little bit.

But maybe just as important is that I purchased the speaker online on Friday night and on Saturday I received an email from James that it would ship out on Monday and I will receive it on Friday. Happened exactly as stated!

Sweetwater has the best customer service PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you can buy music stuff at the same price all over the internet, but SW goes an extra mile to make sure you get what you want and to make you happy with your purchase. I HIGHLY recommend you check them out!!

Replaced my stock 1960 Marshall cab celestion speakers with four of these. Great tone.. Great move.. DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS.. Get the Marshall cabs with these factory installed.. If it's too late like it was for me. Get these. Astonishing improvement. Better than my V30 loaded cab hands down!

Put this on a 1x12 epiphone valve junior cab to replace the Emminence Lady Luck stock speaker and what a difference....
have since plugged in other amps to that cab and I can hear and feel the upgrade. I play Blues/rock and it is so nice to crank it now! Thank you Nich Magnani for your advise and professional support!!

I have a VHT Special 6 Amp and cabinet and it rocks with this speaker lows, mods, and high gain are great a whole new different sound. The punch and crunch are controllable with ease, the best PMP.
