Love it!
Authentic hendrix tone. Has that warmth that I was looking for. Sounds perfect with my Strat, it's as if they were made for each other. And sweetwater, as always great service. They even gave me a better "birthday discount" offer I got from another company.
Blast From The Past
My first stomp box was a Fuzzface back when Nixon was in the White House and my classmates' big brothers were trying to stay alive in SE Asia. Nice to have an old friend back on the pedalboard in a smaller size. It's back in all its splatty low-fi glory. It's usually hard to describe in words how a piece of gear sounds. Not this. It sounds like a blown speaker cone. Keep in mind that in the late 50's and early 60's, guitarists were attacking their speakers with razors and nails to get the sound that this makes. The distortion is dark with reduced treble response. Block chords, particularly when played using the neck pickup, sound like the soundtrack for an H.P. Lovecraft story. Kick in a wah pedal, and Jimi's doppler-shift emulations fall right under your fingers. One-handed playing is almost automatic. Not an "on all the time" pedal, but adds an interesting dimension to your sound.
Changed my mind about fuzz
I've owned fuzz pedals close to 300 dollars and just never could incorporate them. As someone who plays a lot of Jimi and Stevie I was intrigued at the idea of this pedal and Dunlop didn't disappoint. It is a pedal that I use not only for Hendrix but classic floyd and more "modern" stuff like frusciante. Makes me want the other models!
Fuzz face
If you are after a Hendrix type tone this is one key ingredient and for the price you can't beat it. Just get you won't be disappointed!
Love This Pedal!
Title says it all. Compact, toneful, and cute as a bug! First place in my pedal chain. It loves my '66 Custom Telecaster equally with my '86 PRS CU24. Responds well to pickup selection, and incremental adjustments to volume and tone (in the case of the PRS, volume, pickup selection, and sweet switch on/off. May get another, just to see what chaining does!
Righteous Fuzz
Two knobs and go, man. Before you spend $300 on a Fuzz Face with all the extras, or hen's tooth parts, give one of these Dunlops a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Simple, effective, and no fluff.
FuzzFace love.
Ok I was looking to find the fuzz from the past the sound is exactly what this old rocker needed. Personally the thing I found most enjoyable about shopping SweetWater.com is my sales rep, easy to talk to and a most personable fellow he helped to ensure the right Gear for me. So a big shout out to Luke Bassett
Remarkably Accurate Fuzz Tones
The Jim Dunlop FFM3 Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face produces fuzz tones that are unmistakably Hendrix-esq! The BC108 silicon transistors provide a sharper and more pronounced fuzz than the Germanium transistors in my FFM2 Fuzz Face. The FFM3 definitely shapes your sound in a manner consistent with what Hendrix used in his later years; i.e. Electric Ladyland. I'm delighted to own the FFM3! Stepping on one of these little gems puts the sounds that defined the late 1960's under your control. A must for any serious Hendrix enthusiast or psychedelic rock fan. Worth every penny!
Remarkable Sound
If you're a fan of Hendrix, this pedal produces fuzz tones you will be pleased with and even amazed by. I plugged 'er in, cranked up the fuzz and tailored the volume...upon first power chord, I was left with a "wow"! The FFM3 lets you create sounds remarkably reminiscent of one of the greatest guitar legends who ever existed - hence the pedal's namesake. The pedal itself is built like a tank - solid construction from housing to stomp switch to pots. Immaculate sound quality. I'm quite pleased with my monetary investment. In addition, I found the portrait of Jimi on the box to be quite inspirational.
Great little pedal
Great pedal and tone. Small size means it can fit well on a lot of boards. You can find a lot of reviews on YouTube of the entire FuzzFace line if there is a particular sound you are looking for.
Great Little Fuzz
This pedal does what it says it will do. It has that vintage Fuzz sounds and feel. So far I find it works great with other pedals in my chain. The compact size is a plus. You really can't go wrong with this version.
WOW! I'm playing Hendrix!
I tried several fuzz face pedals, including the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix relica, but none of these - or anything comes close to what this little pedal delivers. I received it in the mail this afternoon, plugged it in and played "Are You Experienced" with Jimi note for note, and the tone is one-to-one! By tweaking the fuzz and volume knobs, you'll be able to get the same tones he achieved in songs like Purple Haze, Hey Joe and Voodoo Child. If you're a Robin Trower fan on top of this, like I am, you'll find yourself playing with the best of his songs too. I can't get over it - it's like Hendrix gave me his own, personalized Fuzz Face.
Excellent and not just for Jimi
I had been looking for a decent fuzz for a while and none of my local stores had any in stock. I had tried the ever popular EHBM fuzz and didn't like it, took up to much real estate on the board for an average amount of use. Did a lot of online research and video watching, forum reading and what not. I decided upon the Hendrix fuzz face mini (not because of the name) because of the sound it had was closer to what I wanted in the Germanium transistors. Turns out this may be the best of the fuzz face minis. It sounds fantastic for all of your fuzz needs and is very reactive to your guitars volume control. Ive been able to cover ground from completely saturated to very clean just by rolling back on the guitar volume. I highly recommend this particular fuzz.
Fuzz Face Mini Rocks
This box reminds me of the sound I got in the 60's with the original Fuzz Face. It's even better, though, because it's in the smaller package so it is easier to incorporate into a pedal board and not clutter under foot on stage.
