Gallien-Krueger Fusion 112 1x12" 800-watt Bass Combo Amp Reviews
The Gallien-Krueger Fusion 112 packs 400 watts of Class D power (800 watts with optional speaker cabinet connected), an all-tube preamp, and 12-inch neodymium driver into an ultra-lightweight cabinet gigging bass players are sure to love. The Fusion 112 merges vintage-voicing with modern heft to deliver brutal bottom-end, tight punchy mids, and crisp highs. It excels at generating articulate clean tones and snarling distortion when pushing the tubes into overdrive. After putting it through its paces, bass players at Sweetwater agreed that the Fusion 112 was made for the stage, with its robust construction, illuminated knobs, balanced DI, and effects loop. Full of character with a ton of tonal flexibility, the Fusion 112 may be the workhorse combo you've been looking for!

Absolutely massive sound, premium build quality, and excellent portability. Good clear/uncolored sound if you want it, but I like the GK grind and it's easy to dial that in. On it's own it'll do for almost all situations in a smaller gig setting, pair it with an extension cab and you'll be set for just about anything. I'm floored by how much capability can be put into such a portable package - this is a gig-ready combo amp that you can toss in your passenger seat…insane.
The only downside in my experience thus far is the manual. Control scheme is a bit counter-intuitive at first (it grows on you) and the manual is whomp whomp. Feels like it was slapped together in 15 minutes as an afterthought and printed on scratch paper…YouTube and the Google machine are your friends in this instance, lots of good info out there for this and the Legacy combos that'd I'd suggest hunting for to save yourself trial/error time.
If you're on the fence, don't be. My only regret is not trying one of these sooner.
Good sound but does not seem rugged
Sounds great, I was wondering if there would be enough volume, man this thing is nice and loud. Good selection of sound modification settings and I like the channel select footswitch. Seems good for a home practice studio. Worried about the flimsy knobs, they seem barely there at all, just touching them they wobble. I can see transporting this amp leading to issues with the lack of ruggedness. Seems like a big step backwards on ruggedness for GK from my 800RBII. I'm thinking about building a wooden cover over the knob section on the Fusion 112 held on with magnets, so a simple ding while moving it won't accidentally knock off a knob or two.
