Legendary tonewood
The wood, with its vintage patina, cracks, bolt holes, and scratches perfectly preserved, was hand-picked for the most distinctive markings. All Hollywood Bowl bench seating locations were numbered, so every Front Row '57 Custom Deluxe also features a different seat-number marking on the cabinet top and rear chassis, making each amp unique. A thin satin finish preserves the wood’s battle-scarred appearance. Other features include original Fender 5E3 circuitry with Pure Vintage yellow capacitors, Mercury Magnetics transformers, 12AY7 and 12AX7 preamp tubes, two GT6V6 output tubes, a single 5Y3 rectifier tube, optimized volume pot tapers, and a protective fabric cover.
The fabled Hollywood Bowl
In 1919, a popular picnic spot in a shaded canyon of the Hollywood Hills was chosen as the location for the Hollywood Bowl, and a barn door with a grand piano on it served as the first "stage," used for testing the acoustics. The Bowl officially opened in July 1922, with only bench seating for the audience. A far cry from the Bowl's now-legendary status as one of the world’s most prestigious concert venues. Now a world-famous landmark, the Hollywood Bowl enjoys a history rich with performances of countless artists ranging from Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and Leonard Bernstein to the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, and countless others.
