I did not have stratospheric hopes for this and it was exactly what I expected. You will never use this guitar live (noisy electronics, sub standard pickups and finishing, rough fret finishing etc...). You WILL use this guitar for young players (stays in tune well) and for a "practice" guitar you don't have a lot invested in. Extras were ok, the amp is good for playing alone or in a class but not for playing out. All in all you have a student (middle school) level guitar that is great for practicing for when you get a better one. For the money this is a decent rig that could have been better with just some minor care and attention to detail.
